On Thursday Lucy had to visit her regular doctor because he had prescribe more vitamins. Sitting in the office, Lucy saw another couple that was expecting.

The guy had and the woman were discussing names for the baby, and looked so much in love. The guy would sometimes put his hand on her stomach. Lucy felt her own eyes beginning to well up and was glad when her name was called by the nurse.

Carter was sitting in his jeep waiting for Lucy to come back. She said it would take half an hour so for 20 minutes he had went to go get some lunch and was now waiting for her outside her doctors office.

Lucy came back, her nose and eyes were red, as if she had been crying. He decided not to say anything and just drove her back. Abby was working today so he guessed he would have to do something else. On their way home he rented three movies and bought some pop corn with Lucy waiting in the jeep.

They got back and Lucy made herself a sandwich and they watched two movies until dinnertime and they ordered in pizza. After dinner they watched one more movie and then Lucy went to bed.

Carter was just about to go upstairs when his eye caught a white envelope sitting on one of the kitchen counters. Lucy must�ve forgotten it there he thought. He couldn�t help but look inside. Inside were the ultrasound pictures. That brought a smile to his face and softened his heart. Here it was. His and Lucy�s child in her stomach. Why did things have to be like they were now?

Lucy couldn�t sleep, her mind was spinning. How would she ever manage with the baby? She needed to work, but if she was working who would take care of the baby? All this really frustrated her and Lucy began sobbing quietly. John was up getting a glass of water and he went into Lucy�s room to see what was wrong.

�Lucy?� he inquired but she didn�t answer, �Lucy are you okay?� Lucy turns around. Carter is standing there just in his CK black boxers. His nicely toned stomach can be seen with just enough moonlight coming out of her window.

�It�s nothing go back to sleep.�

Carter enters the room and sits near the head of the bed. Lucy was wearing one of her nightgowns with a plunging neckline so she puts the blanket close to her chin and wipes away her tears.

�We�re in such a mess right now.�

�You think you�ve got it bad? In a month or so you�re going to get married to the woman of uour dreams and live life the way you want it.�

�I�m sorry for the way I�ve been acting, and treating you.�

Lucy starts crying again. �It�s all my fault, if only I had trusted you,� she said in between sobs...this is all too much.�

Carter gets into bed with her and holds her close to him, while she continues to sob.

�We�ll get through this,� he brings her face close to his and kisses her passionatly on the lips. �I�ve wanted to do that for so long.� �What does it mean?�

�It means I want to get back together with you and raise this child,� he strokes her stomach.

Then he kisses her again and puts her on her back. They kiss some more and then he puts his hands to the hem of her nighty and pulls it up to her hips while nuzzling her neck. All of a sudden Lucy says �Stop.�

�Why?�

�What about Abby?�

�I�ll just tell her we�ve both gotten back together. Anyways I could tell she still wanted Luka. We both kind of got together because we had been hurt.�

�I�m so sorry John�

�We all made mistakes.�

Embracing, they fell asleep in each others arms.
