Lucy and the baby they had named Noah, were discharged from the hospital.
Carter had taken a day off to get everything settled at home. He carried Noah in the baby seat to the car and helped Lucy also get into the SUV, because she was still a bit sore.
“It’s so nice to be back home,” exclaimed Lucy as she walked into the
apartment.
“You didn’t like the comforting decor of the hospital?” asked Carter
sarcastically.
She rolled her eyes.
“I think it’s time for Noah to be fed.”
“But he’s sleeping.”
“No, something (she pointed to her breasts), is telling me he needs to be fed.”
“Ohhhhh!” he then brought Noah to her as she unbuttoned her shirt.
“Wow!”
“What?”
“Your breasts have gotten big!”
“Well it’s only temporary.”
“I know, and I never complained about them before,” he said with a grin.
“You know we can’t be ‘active’ for another 4 weeks?"
“You can say the word, and yes I know, it will be hard, but I will manage.”
Lucy starts laughing. It just feels weird saying ‘sex’ in front of the baby now.
“Why? You do know he won’t understand don’t you?”
“Duh! On another topic, you’ve kept the place really clean.”
“Yep, I just cleaned it this morning!” said Carter grinning.
A week later.....
“Gawd, you look bad!” said Carter as he entered the house and saw Lucy trying to quieten down Noah.
“Thanks,” said Lucy sarcastically. She had huge eyebags under her eyes from lack of sleep, her hair was a mess and she was wearing her pajamas and bathrobe still. “I really need some sleep....” said Lucy hoping that Carter would take the hint and offer to look after Noah for awhile.
“Maybe after you feed him or something he will go to sleep? Well I’ve got to go take a shower and then I won’t be back until 11, Dave got tickets to the basketball game tonight,” and with that, Carter left, with Lucy staring in disbelief.
