It’s been a few months and things between Carter and Lucy are going good, but something is about to change and it’s not for the better....

Scene Opens:

Lucy is sitting in the lounge reading a letter. She has tears in her eyes.

Mark: Hey Lucy what's wrong?

Lucy: Everything I just don’t know what to do.

Mark: Is there anything I can do for you?

Lucy: No I’ll just have to do this on my own.

Mark: Well just let me know if I can help.

Mark exit the lounge. Lucy is Still looking at the letter and tears start to fall again.

Time laps and Lucy is in exam room 3 working on a patient.

Lucy: Hi Molly I’m Lucy Knight and you said you were having some stomach cramps.

Molly: Yes I woke up this morning and I started having the pains.

Lucy: Ok lets take a look. How old are you Molly?

Molly: 17

Lucy: Are you sexually active?

Molly: Well I just did it once with my boyfriend.

Lucy: Well that’s all it takes. I take it you didn't use protection?

Molly: No. You don’t think I’m pregnant?

Lucy: Well you could be, but we will take a test to be sure. Lydia orders a CBC and a pregnant test and I’ll need to do a pap smear.

Lydia: ok

End Scene One:

Lucy is looking over Molly’s chart and looks to Lydia.

Scene Two:

Lydia: She’s pregnant.

Lucy: Yeah looks to be about 12 weeks. I’ll need to give her the pap smear.

Lucy and Lydia go to see Molly.

Molly: I thought you forgot about me.

Lucy: No of course not. Molly I need to do a pap smear. We got your test back and....

Molly: (Before Lucy could finish) I’m pregnant

Lucy: Yes it looks like your about 12 weeks along, but I want to give you a pap smear to make sure everything is okay.

Molly: Ok you’re the doctor.

Lucy gives Molly her test and tells Molly as soon as the test comes back and everything's ok you can go home.

Some time laps and Lucy lets Molly know everything is okay and lets her know her options. After they talk for a bit Molly goes home.

End Scene Two:

Lucy is back in the lounge going over charts when Carter walks in.

Scene Three:

Carter: Hey Luce where have you been hiding.

Lucy: I haven't been hiding. I just released a 17year old girl who is 12 weeks pregnant.

Carter: Is she ok?

Lucy: She seems to be. I’m just not too sure.

Carter: Well that’s pretty young she has to figure out what to do.

Lucy: Yeah well my mom had me at 17 and I turned out just fine.

Carter: (With a smile) yes you did.

Lucy: Carter I really need to talk to you about something. What time will you be home tonight?

Carter: Little after midnight.

Lucy: Please if I’m sleeping wake me. I really need to talk to you.

Carter: Ok, but do you want to talk now?

Lucy: No I rather talk to you tonight.

Carter: Okay I’ll wake you when I get home.

Lucy: Thank you (Giving him a quick kiss)

Lucy leaves to go home.

End Scene Three:

It’s 1am and Carter is just arriving home.

Final Scene:

Carter: Your up.

Lucy: I couldn't sleep.

Carter: Ok I’m home what is going on.

Lucy: I got this letter today at work. It was from my dad.

Carter: What did he want? You haven’t heard from him in 26 years.

Lucy: I know I can’t believe he writes me after so long. I have never even met him.

Carter: So what did he want?

Lucy: Well it really is not what I would call your I’m sorry for leaving you and your mom.

Carter: So you throw it out and forget he even wrote you.

Lucy: It’s not that easy. He ask me for help.

Carter: So what kind of help could he need after 26 years of nothing.

Lucy: He is married now with 3 kids. One of his daughters is sick.

Carter: (Looking worried) What is it?

Lucy: Leukemia, She needs bone marrow.

Carter: What about the other kids (pausing) I guess he already tried them.

Lucy: Yeah they didn’t match.

Carter: Should I even ask what you decided.

Lucy: I guess you know what I will do. She is only 12years old she didn’t ask for any of this. If I can help I have too no matter what he did or didn’t do for me.

Carter: (Looking into Lucy’s eyes) I know, but if this is what you are going to do I want to go through it with you. I’ll hold your hand stand right next to you. Whatever you need me for I’m here.

Lucy: I’m so lucky I have you.

Carter: No Lucy I’m the lucky one to have you.

Carter hugs Lucy and they start talking About the plans on how they are going to do all this.
