Scene opens:

Carter wakes up to find Lucy sitting in the chair looking out the window.

Lucy: Good morning John

Carter: Your up early.

Lucy: I guess I ’m so use to waking up early.

Carter: What time is it?

Lucy: 6:30 I need to be at the hospital by 8:30.

Carter: Do you want to go out for some breakfast?

Lucy: Could we just order room service? I just want to sit next to you and spend some quite time in this morning.

Carter: Sure whatever you want is fine with me.

Lucy: Thank you Carter for being so understanding.

Carter: You need to know I would do anything for you .

Lucy: ( Smiling ) What would you like for breakfast?

Carter: Just get anything you know what I like.

Lucy calls for breakfast .

End Scene One:

Some time laps and they are just finishing breakfast.

Scene Two:

Carter: ( Looking at his watch ) Well I guess it’s time for us to get going.

Lucy: Yes I guess it is.

Carter: Let me get dress and we can go.

Lucy: Okay.

Carter goes to get dress. While Lucy sits looking out the window again.

Carter: Ok I’m ready.

Lucy: John I’m scared

Carter: ( Giving her a hug ) Lucy if you want to back out I’ll understand.

Lucy: I can’t do that to Megan she is counting on me to help Save Her. I need you help though.

Carter: Anything you name it.

Lucy: I just need you to help me keep from seeing my father. I’m just not ready to meet my dad.

Carter: If that what you want. Then I will do it for you.

Lucy: Thank you , I really don’t know if I want to meet him at all.

Carter: There is nothing wrong with feeling that way.

After Carter makes Lucy feel better about how she is feeling they leave to go to the hospital.

End Scene Two:

Arriving at the hospital Carter goes ahead of Lucy to make sure she wont run into her father.

Scene Three:

Carter: I’m John Carter I’m here with Lucy Knight. She has some testing with Dr. Bellen.

Dr. Bellen: Can I help you I’m Dr. Bellen.

Carter: ( Shaking his hand ) Hello I’m Dr. John Carter, I’m here with Lucy Knight.

Dr. Bellen: Yes where is she?

Carter: She is waiting outside. She wanted me to talk to you about something. She wants to help her sister, but she wants to do it without seeing her father.

Dr. Bellen: I don’t see that to be a problem. She wont see him today any way he upstairs with Megan in her room. Just take her to curtain 2 and I’ll be in there to give her the tests.

Carter: Thank you Dr.

Carter goes to get Lucy. They enter curtain 2 for her test.

Lucy: So I wont have to see him.

Carter: Nope not at all. We will take the test and then we can go back to the hotel. We will have to be back at 6am.

Lucy: Ok good. Thank you for being here for me. I love you.

Carter: I love you too, but I need to go to the Nurse’s Station to give them your information.

Lucy: You have to go.

Carter: I’ll be back in 5mins I’ll be right outside if you need me. (Kiss her in the cheek)

Lucy: Okay.

Cater goes to fill out the paperwork for Lucy. While Carter is filling out the paperwork a man walks up to the desk.

Man: Yes I’m Mr. Johnson I was looking for Lucy Knight.

Nurse: Yes she is in curtain 2.

Carter: Excuse me. Can I help you?

Mr. Johnson: I don’t think so.

Carter: You asked to see Lucy Knight. Well I’m with her. So like I said. Can I help you?

Mr. Johnson: Sorry I’m her dad and just wanted to see her.

Carter: I really don’t thing that would be a good idea. She doesn’t want to see you.

Mr. Johnson: Really and what gives you the right to say that.

Carter: I’m Lucy’s boyfriend and I work with her. Also she wanted me to make sure she didn’t see you.

Mr. Johnson: I just wanted to thank her for doing this for Megan. I tried to talk to her last night, but I guess she wasn’t really to talk to me yet. I guess I should have expected this after 26years.

Carter: Yes you should. I love Lucy and I’m not going to let anything or anyone hurt her. So please respect her wishes and just let her help your daughter and then I can take her home.

Mr. Johnson: Well if that what so wants then I’ll respect it. Could you just tell her I said thank you?

Carter: I will.

Carter gives the paperwork to the nurse and Lucy’s dad leaves to go back upstairs.

End Scene Three:

Carter goes to be with Lucy unsure if he should tell Lucy he met her father and what he said.

Scene Four:

Carter: Hey sweetie how are you doing?

Lucy: Well I’m a little tired. What took you so long?

Carter: You know how paperwork goes. They say 5mins , but what they really mean is 5 hours.

Lucy: (Laughs) Well the doctor came in and explained everything to me. Not like it didn’t know already.

Carter: Well it’s different being on the other side.

Lucy: Yes it is . I’m not sure what’s worst being the person who gets the bad news or the one who tell the bad news.

Carter: I think both is really hard to do, but getting it would be the hardest atleast I think.

Lucy: I guess your right.

The Doctor enters:

Dr. Bellen: Ok all the test are done Ms. Knight and everything is good. You may go back to the hotel. Just remember we need you back here at 6am and also nothing after 12 midnight.

Lucy: Yes I know. Thank you Dr. Bellen.

Dr. Bellen: I know you don’t want to see you father, but Megan ask if she could meet you before surgery tomorrow.

Lucy: ( Looking at Carter) I guess that would be ok.

Dr. Bellen: Good then I’ll set it up for you and Megan meet before surgery.

Lucy: Thank you Doctor.

Carter: ( Shaking his hand ) Yes Dr. Bellen thank you.

End Scene Four:

Lucy and Carter leave the hospital and take a drive around Michigan.

Final Scene:

Carter: Do you want to take a drive by the lake?

Lucy: Sure

Carter: I heard it’s nice this time of the year to look at.

Carter drives to the lake. They get out and sit a long the ocean.

Lucy: John if anything happens to me.....

Carter: ( Stopping her) Don’t talk like that you are going to be fine.

Lucy: Please let me finish, I need to do this.

Carter: Okay, but I know everything will be ok.

Lucy: Like I was saying I want you to know I love you very much and I’m glad I had this time with you. I will never forget you.

Carter: Lucy you are worrying me please don’t talk like that. Nothing will happen.

Lucy: Okay John I will stop, but at least I got to say what I wanted to.

Carter: Well lets go we need to get up early in the morning.

They get to the hotel and start to get ready for bed.

Lucy: John well you hold me tonight? I just want to be close to you tonight.

Carter: Sure anything you want.

They lay down Carter holding Lucy in his arms.

Lucy: I love you John.

Carter: I love you too Luce.

They fall asleep in others arms.
