Carter is at the front desk checking out . So they can make their way back to Chicago.

Desk Clerk: How was your stay Dr. Carter?

Carter: Nice thank you.

Desk Clerk: How will you be paying today?

Carter: ( Handing him a card ) Credit.

Desk Clerk: Here you go. Also this was sent here for you and Miss. Knight. It’s a bottle of Champagne from Mike and Rita with their thanks.

Carter: Thank you and have a nice day.

Desk Clerk: You too Dr. Carter.

Carter walks over to get Lucy.

Carter: We’re all checked out.

Lucy: Good, What’s with the Champagne?

Carter: It’s from Mike and Rita. A thank you.

Lucy: That was nice of them.

Carter: Yes it was, Well are you ready to head out?

Lucy: Lets go.

Lucy and Carter make it to the car. Pack the bags in and make their way to the hospital to say goodbye to Megan.

End Scene One:

They pull up to the hospital when Carter stops Lucy before they head in to see Megan.

Scene Two:

Carter: Lucy are you sure you want to do this?

Lucy: I made a promise to her and just because I don’t want to see my father ever. I still have a sister.

Carter: I understand. Do you want me to go with you?

Lucy: Yes please.

Carter: Of course I will.

Carter and Lucy go up to Megan’s room.

Lucy: Hi Megan how are you?

Megan: I’m doing good, How are you?

Lucy: I’m doing fine. I just wanted to let you know that I’m going back to Chicago today. I wanted to let you have this and let you know anytime you need anything call me. I would like to keep in touch with you.

Carter: That would be nice. I will love to keep in touch with you.

Lucy: Also my address is there too if you don’t get to call too much write me and let me know how you are doing in a couple of weeks.

Megan: I will do that I promise. Also I want to thank you for coming to help me. I know it was hard for you to come and meet a father you haven't seen in years and too fine out you have a sister. I’m glad I got to meet you and I’m glad I have such a pretty sister who is a doctor, that will go over real good with my friends at school.

Lucy: Thank you I’m glad I got to meet you and I want to keep up with you. I want to know how things are with you. You can tell all your friends about me. ( with a smile, she gives her a hug )

Megan: Carter did you do it yet.

Carter:( with a big smile ) No not yet, but as soon as I do you will be the first to know.

Megan: You better.

Lucy: ( Looking at Carter ) I guess we better get going.

Carter: I guess so, well Megan it was very nice meeting you. You take care and be good.

Lucy: Anytime you want to talk call me.

Megan: I will and thank you again. ( crying )

Lucy: Now don’t do that. If you start I’ll start and then I wont be able to leave and I need to get back to work. So lets not say goodbye. Lets say see you later, because I will see you later.

Megan: Ok no more tears. See you later sis.

Lucy: See you soon Sis. ( they hug )

Carter and Lucy leave Megan’s room.

End Scene Two:

Carter and Lucy are in the car making their way back to Chicago.

Scene Three:

Lucy looks to Carter with a strange look on her face.

Lucy: What was Megan talking about before?

Carter: What are you talking about?

Lucy: John you know what I’m talking about?

Carter: Don’t worry it’s our little secret.

Lucy: Oh I see so that’s the way it’s going to be.

Carter: You will and at the right time.

Lucy: Ok then I guess I’ll just have to wait.

Carter: You don’t like to wait. Do you?

Lucy: No I hate waiting so try not letting me wait too long.

Carter: I'll keep that in mind.

Lucy: ( Turning the radio on ) Hey I love this song. ( She starts to sing )

First I was afraid

Carter: Ok enough with that.

Lucy: I was just saying.

Carter: Yes I know what you were saying. We need to stop for gas.

Lucy: Ok as soon as I see a station I’ll whistle.

Lucy spots a station they pull over to get some snacks and gas.

End Scene Three:

Lucy gets out to go get some snacks.

Scene Four:

Lucy: What do you want John?

Carter: I’ll take a soda and some chips and a turkey sandwich.

Lucy: Ok anything else.

Carter: Nope I think that’s it.

Lucy goes to get the snacks.

Lucy: Ok here is your sandwich. Sorry no turkey.

Carter: That’s ok What did we get?

Lucy: Well I got Ham and Cheese, sodas and some chips. ( Holing her hand up ) And I got these.

Carter: Cool I love gummy bears.

Lucy: Now Johnny you get no candy until you finish you lunch.

Carter: Yes mommy.

Lucy: So how much longer?

Carter: What getting tried of me already?

Lucy: No I was just wondering how much more time we have of our road trip.

Carter: About 3 hours.

Lucy: Good. (she yawns )

Carter: Are you ok?

Lucy: Just a bit sleepy.

Carter: Why don’t you take a nap?

Lucy: Maybe just a little one. Wake me in a hour.

Carter: Ok

Some time laps and Lucy has been sleeping.

End Scene Four:

Carter pulls the car over and goes to wake up Lucy.

Final Scene:

Lucy: Are we Home?

Carter: No, not yet but we are in Chicago.

Lucy: Great I slept through our whole trip. You were going to wake me in a hour.

Carter: Don’t worry sweetie you needed your rest.

Lucy: WOW The lake is so pretty at night.

Carter: Yes it is. Lucy lets go for a walk.

Lucy: Ok.

They take a walk along the lake holding hands. When Carter stops and looks at Lucy.

Lucy: WHAT?

Carter: Well I was just looking at how beautiful you are in the moonlight.

Lucy: John stop.

Carter: No Lucy. When I throught I had almost lost you I couldn’t bare it.

Lucy: John It’s ( Carter putting his finger over her mouth)

Carter: Shhhh... Now let me say this.

Taking Lucy by the hand.

Carter: I don’t want to ever know what it’s like without you. ( pulling a little box out of his pocket ) Lucy will you Marry me?

Lucy: John I I I.

Carter: What you don’t like it?

Lucy: No it’s beautiful , but I don’t know what to say?

Carter: Well you could answer me.

Lucy: I guess No I’m sure. YES YES YES . I'll Marry you.

Carter puts the ring on Lucy’s finger and they kiss as they stand by the lake.
