Scene Opens:

Carter and Lucy are asleep in the chair and Gamma is just about to wake up. When a nurse walks in.

Nurse: Good morning Mrs. Carter.

Gamma: Good morning.

Nurse: I see you had company last night.

Gamma: Yes my grandson and his fiancé.

Just then Carter walks up and then Lucy.

Carter: Is everything ok.

Nurse: Yes , she is just fine.

Carter: See Gamma I told you everything would be okay.

Gamma: I know you are always right.

Lucy: Well not always.

Gamma: Lucy you know you didn’t have to stay last night, but thank you.

Lucy: Your welcome. It was no problem really.

Nurse: Ok now the doctor will be in to see you just to see that everything is good. Then we will get you released and you can go home.

Gamma: Thank you I’m ready to go home.

Carter: See only one night.

Gamma: Lucy did you know that John always thinks he is right.

Lucy: He seems to think he does, but we know better right.

Gamma: ( Laughing ) Right.

Carter: Now stop you two. I never said I was always right.

Lucy: Ok we’ll stop for now. ( Giving Gamma a look and they smile )

Carter: Lucy are you on today?

Lucy: Yes, I should get down there now.

Carter: Ok then I‘ll let you know when they release her.

Lucy: Good ( giving Gamma A kiss ) I'll see you later take care and rest.

Gamma: I will and don’t you work too hard.

Lucy and Carter walk to the door they say their goodbyes and with a soft kiss Lucy heads down to the ER.

End Scene One:

At the ER Lucy runs into Mark.

Scene Two:

Mark: Lucy how is Carter’s grandmother?

Lucy: She is doing much better. She should be released today sometime.

Mark: Well that’s good to know.

Lucy: I better go check in I’ll see you later.

Mark: Okay

Lucy is at the front desk checking the board. She see that everything is good and slow. So she goes to find Luka to see if there is anything he wants her to do.

Meanwhile back at Gamma’s room Carter is talking to the doctor.

Carter: Doctor is she really ok to go home?

Dr. Walker: Yes she will be just fine all she needs to do is rest and take care of her wrist. Then in two weeks she needs to follow up with her family doctor.

Carter: I’ll see that she does that Dr. Walker.

Dr. Walker: Good then I’ll sign the papers and you can go home. If you have anymore trouble go to your doctor right away.

Gamma: Ok thank you doctor.

Carter: Thank you Dr. Walker.

The doctor leaves and Carter calls Gamma’s driver so he can meet them to take her home.

Carter: Ok Gamma the driver will be here in 20 minutes to take you home. I’ll go with you to make sure you get settled in ok.

Gamma: Ok John.

Carter: I’m going to go let Lucy know what’s going on. I’ll be right back. I wont be long.

Gamma: Thank you John. I’m sorry I’m being such a pain.

Carter: You’re not so stop it.

Carter goes to talk to Lucy to key her know what’s going on.

End Scene Two:

Carter is in the ER looking for Lucy.

Scene Three:

Carter: Jerry have you seen Lucy?

Jerry: She is in the lounge.

Making his way to the lounge.

Carter: Hey Luce.

Lucy: John, how is Gamma doing?

Carter: Good she’s going home in a few. I just wanted to let you know.

Lucy: Good I’m glad she is going home she will feel a lot better when she can be in her own bed.

Carter: Yeah she is really to go home and believe me she can’t wait another minute. Anyways she wants me to take her home. So if you don’t mind could you take the Jeep and come pick me up when you get off.

Lucy: Sure I get off around 3pm unless we get swamped before that. I’ll call you if there is any problems.

Carter: Lucy I’m sorry about this you have been so understanding through all this. What would I do without you?

Lucy: Carter Gamma needs you and I really don’t mind. Just think of it this way you now have something to do while you are off.

Carter: Yeah nothing like killing time with Gamma.

Lucy: It can’t be that bad.

Carter: Don’t get me wrong. I love gamma she is the only one who truly understands me, but I love killing time with you more.

Lucy: Now don’t worry about this I’m fine I just want you to make sure Gamma gets through this ok.

Carter: I will, I love you so much (kissing her on the lips )

Lucy: I love you too John. Now you take Gamma home and I’ll come by after work.

Carter: Ok Luce I’ll see you later.

Carter leaves to go take Gamma home, while Lucy gets back to work.

Sometime laps and Carter is home with Gamma.

Carter: Ok Gamma can I get anything for you?

Gamma: No I’m fine just sleepy.

Carter: Ok I’ll let you rest.

Carter makes he way downstairs. Just then the doorbell rings.

Detective: Yes I was looking for John Carter.

Carter: ( talking to the butler ) I got it thank you. Do you have any news?

Detective: Yes we caught three men about 3blocks away last night. They where breaking into another house. Did you family have a new alarm system put in recently?

Carter: Yes about 2 weeks ago they changed. There was a problem with the other company and they went bankrupt.

Detective: Well the company you went with had a man working for them and he was keeping all the codes and with the other men went and a robbing spree.

Carter: Good so what do we need to do to get our stuff back?

Detective: Well I have some pictures of the men we picked up and I need for your grandmother to identify them. If she can.

Carter: She is resting right now, but I’m sure she will want to see the pictures.

They make their way up the Gamma’s room to show her the pictures of the men.

Entering Gamma’s room.

Carter: Gamma the detective is here and wants you to look at some pictures to see if they are the men that robbed us.

Gamma: Ok where are they.

Detective: We are pretty sure we got the guys who did this. They have been doing this for a while now. I have some pictures for you to look at if that alright.

Gamma: That’s fine where are they?

He puts six pictures in front of her to see if she can identify any of them.

Gamma: ( Looking at the pictures ) I’m not sure.

Detective: Just take your time.

Gamma: ( Pointing at the pictures ) This one and this one.

Carter: Is that all.

Detective: Yes, now that we know they did it we can make a deal with they and get them to confess it will be over fast and she will get her stuff back.

Carter: Great I hope it’s fast I would like for her to get her stuff back.

Detective: I’ll make sure everything is as fast as can be so she will get her stuff back.

Carter: Thank you

Gamma: Yes, thank you.

Carter walks the detective to the door.

End Scene Three:

As Carter does to let the detective out Lucy is at the door.

Final Scene:

Carter: Hey Lucy

Lucy: How is everything?

Carter: Good that was the detective that just left. He had some pictures for Gamma to look at they got the guys who did the robbery. They have been doing this for a while now.

Lucy: Well that good. Well she get her things back?

Carter: As soon as they get all the paper work together she will.

Lucy: I happy that she will get her things back.

Carter: So is she. Anyways how was your day?

Lucy: The same as always.

Carter: What are those? ( pointing at some bags in the floor )

Lucy: Well I was thinking with everything that Gamma had been through the pass couple of days she wont want to be alone. So I thought that we could stay her with her for a while at least until she feels safe.

Carter: Lucy you are wonderful. You never cease to amaze me. ( kissing her )

Lucy: Well that’s my job amazing you.

Carter: Well I'll let Gamma know maybe she’ll sleep better tonight.

Lucy: Ok so where is the guest room.

Carter: My room ( smiling )

Lucy: Now I don’t want to upset Gamma.

Carter: My room is on the other side of the hall and Gamma knows how much we love each other. Since we are getting marry she wont mind.

Lucy: As long as you think Gamma wont mind.

Carter: She wont and don’t worry.

Carter shows Lucy to his room so she can freshen up for dinner.

Sometime laps and they get ready to sit down for dinner.

Carter: Well this is our famous Carter Family dinners. I hope it’s not too much for you.

Lucy: No this is fine. I’m just not use to this kind of dinners.

Carter: It shouldn’t take you too long you are a princess and this is how you should be treated. Like a Princess

Lucy: ( She smiles ) Did I tell you I talked to Megan.

Carter: Oh god with everything going on with work and Gamma. I forgot to ask if you had talk to her.

Lucy: That’s ok she is doing fine and going to start school next week.

Carter: That’s great I’m glad she is doing good.

Lucy: She also asked me about wedding and being in. I told her of course as soon as we set a date.

Carter: Yeah we need to talk about that too.

Lucy: John lets get through this with Gamma and then we can set a date.

Lucy and Carter continue talking some more and they finish dinner and head up to bed.
