Scene Opens:

Carter is sitting at the breakfast table reading the paper when Gamma Enters.

Gamma: Good morning John.

Carter: ( Rising up from his seat to give her a kiss ) Good morning Gamma.

Gamma: Where’s Lucy?

Carter: She’s still sleeping. She doesn’t have to be at the hospital until 3.

Gamma: So when do you get back to work?

Carter: 2 more days.

Gamma: Well I think that’s good. Now you and Lucy can get on with your lives and stop babysitting me.

Carter: Gamma we never wanted you to think we were babysitting you. We just wanted to make sure you were ok.

Gamma: It’s been two weeks and I’m fine really John. Lucy and you need to get on with you lives.

Carter: Well I would like to stay until they call about getting you things back.

Gamma: Well today is the day they said I should get my things back.

Carter: Ok then we will wait until today and when Lucy gets off tonight I’ll pick her up and we can go home.

Gamma: Good then you and Lucy will have a chance to set the wedding date.

Carter: I would get marry tomorrow if she would.

Gamma: You better not be rushing her to set one.

Carter: I’m not I just don’t know how long I can wait.

Gamma: As long as Lucy needs. So be patient.

Carter: I know.

Just then Lucy enters.

Lucy: Good morning Gamma

Gamma: Good morning Lucy.

Carter: Did you sleep well.

Lucy: Yes

Carter: Well Gamma’s kicking us out. Said she wants us to stop babysitting her.

Lucy: Well she seems to be doing better and we are probably making her sick. worrying so much.

Gamma: That’s not it at all. I just need to get back to my old self.

Lucy: Well that’s good I’m glad you are feeling better.

Gamma: I do want to think you both for being her and taking care of me.

Lucy: Your welcome, but I should think you. I learned a lot about The Carters and John.

Carter: Too much if you ask me ( Saying with a smile )

Breakfast comes and they begin to eat and talk some more.

End Scene One:

With breakfast done we see Lucy in the room getting really for work and Carter is on the phone.

Scene Two: Carter: ( talking on the phone ) Yes really, That’s great. When will this happen? Wonderful I’ll let her know. Thank you.

Lucy: Who was that?

Carter: Detective Farris he said that they would be sending a truck today with all the stuff that was taken from Gamma.

Lucy: That’s Great.

Carter: I know I need to let her know. If you don’t mind can I take you to work a bit earlier so I can get back to make sure everything goes right.

Lucy: Yeah no problem. We could leave in about a hour.

Carter: Well he didn’t give a exact time.

Lucy: Well better to be here before they get here then after they leave.

Carter: You are always right. Ok then I’ll go talk to Gamma and let her know the good news. I’ll meet you downstairs in a few .

Lucy: Got it.

Carter goes to let Gamma know what’s going on. While Lucy finishes getting ready for work.

End Scene Two:

Finding Gamma in her special spot “The Garden” Carter lets Gamma in on the phone call he got.

Scene Three:

Carter: Hey Gamma.

Gamma: John is everything ok?

Carter: Great everything is just great, detective Farris called.

Gamma: What did he want?

Carter: Well he said they are sending a truck here today with your stuff.

Gamma: They got all my stuff?

Carter: Yes Gamma you’re getting it all back today.

Gamma: Well it’s about damn time.

Carter: Now Gamma don’t be like that just be glad you are getting it back.

Gamma: I' am glad that I can finally put this all behind me.

Carter: Well I’m going to take Lucy to work early so that I can be here when they get here and make sure everything goes right.

Gamma: Sounds good to me. Thanks for being here John, you and Lucy have been great to be around.

Carter: Gamma we are family and I love you and will always be there for you. You have more courage then I ever will.

Carter and Gamma hug and he goes to take Lucy to work.

End Scene Three:

Meeting Carter downstairs and going to the Jeep. Carter takes Lucy to work.

Scene Four:

Lucy: I bet you can’t wait to get back to work.

Carter: Yeah but only so I can see you more.

Lucy: Well now that I’m working with Luka I’m sure we wont see each other that much.

Carter: Well at least I’ll know how close you are to me at work and that we can duck into exam rooms and make out.

Lucy: Very funny Carter, last time that happen we got caught.

Carter: Yeah well at least this time we don’t have to worry about anyone getting in trouble. I’m already paying for that now.

Pulling up to the ER entrance.

Carter: What time is it?

Lucy: ( Looking at her watch ) Noon Why?

Carter: Well we could get a quick bit to eat at Doc Magoo’s.

Lucy: Do you think you will have time?

Carter: Yeah it will be quick. I’m just not ready to say bye to you yet.

Lucy: Ok then.

Carter parks the Jeep and they head over to Doc Magoo’s.

Lucy: Have you had any thoughts about the wedding date?

Carter: Not really I thought you could pick the date and I’ll be happy with it.

Lucy: This is something we should do together.

Carter: Whatever day you want I’ll be happy just to marry you.

Lucy: John why the hell are you acting like this I want to sent a date with you.

Carter: Ok then we can pick it together.

Lucy: Well you don’t have to be so happy about it.

Carter: What I am happy about it. I just thought you would want to pick the date.

Lucy: That’s right John you thought, that was your mistake.

Carter: Luce you are over reacting about this you don’t have to get upset.

Lucy: UPSET! You’re damn right I’m upset you act like you don’t care about getting marry like it’s not important.

Carter: That’s not true it is important to me. I have never been good with plans and I know that girls dream about their wedding day from the first time they could talk. This is our wedding whatever day WE pick and as long as I have you beside me that day it will never leave my mind I will never forget that day, and we will together pick the date that you and I will say I do.

Lucy: ( With tears running down her cheek ) I’m sorry John I....

Carter: Don’t worry it’s ok.

Lucy: I love you.

Carter: I love you ( they kiss )

Lucy: Well I guess I should let you go before they show up with Gamma’s things and you are not there.

Carter: Yeah I better go. I’ll see you after work.

Lucy: Ok.

They kiss again and Carter goes to check on Gamma and Lucy goes to work.

End Scene Four:

Just as Carter gets back a truck pulls up by the house.

Final Scene:

Gamma: John you made it.

Carter: I told you I would.

Truck Driver: Hello I have a delivery for Mrs. Carter.

Gamma: That’s me, ( looking into the truck) Well it looks likes it’s all here. I hope.

Carter: Well lets wait until they get it all off the truck before we say it’s not all back.

Truck Driver: Well here is a list for you this is everything we have for you.

Carter: ( looking over the list ) Well Gamma looks like it is all here.

Gamma: Great, thank you.

The men finish putting everything back and about a hour later the leave.

Some time laps and we see Carter and Gamma looking over her things to see if there was any damage to them. After doing that Gamma heads to bed and Carter goes to watch some TV before going to get Lucy from work.

Asleep on the couch Carter’s pager goes off.

Carter: ( looking at his pager, and then the clock) Damn it I am late. (trying to fine his car keys ) She is going to kill me.

Outside the ER Lucy is waiting for Carter when he finally shows up.

Carter: I’m so sorry.

Lucy: What happen?

Carter: I was helping Gamma get her stuff in order then it got late so I sat down to watch some TV and I guess I ......

Lucy: Fell asleep.

Carter: Yeah I am sorry.

Lucy: Don’t worry it’s ok.

Carter: So anyways how was work?

Lucy: Well I had to tell a 16year old girl she was pregnant and a 52year old man he had cancer. You know the usually.

Carter: Well I have a back rub with your mane all over it.

Lucy: I’ll take it.

Carter: I also have a surprise for you. I did something to day.

Lucy: What have you done now?

Carter: You will just have to wait until we get home.

Lucy: It sure will be nice to get home and sleep in my own bed.

Carter: That’s the truth I can’t wait either. Luce there is one condition to you seeing your surprise. ( holding up a blindfold )

Lucy: John what are you up to?

Carter: Nothing I just want you to be surprise.

Lucy: Do I need to put this on now?

Carter: Yes, but don’t worry I’ll keep my hands to myself.

Lucy: I’m not worry about that.

Lucy puts the blindfold on. Carter holds her hand while he takes her to her surprise.
