Summary: The Court Date is here and everyone is worry about what will happen. Things work themselves out and after everything is said and done Carter and Lucy have a night out.
Scene Opens:
7:30AM we see Gamma buttoning her dress up looking in the mirror at her black eye. 7:35 Carter sitting on the edge of the bed watching Lucy sleep with a soft kiss she wakes up. 7:45 Gamma slipping her shoes on putting her handkerchief in her purse. 7:55 Carter putting his tie on Lucy helps him get his jacket on. Lucy grabs her lab coat they head out into the hallway. 8:00 Gamma standing at the top of the stairs Carter kisses her on the cheek they out to the jeep. 8:05 on the way to drop Lucy off at work things are quiet. 8:25 outside County General Lucy gets out and kisses Carter goodbye. Gives him a look that everything will be okay. 8:30 Carter and Gamma make their way to the Court. 8:55 At the front door the silence is broken.
Carter: Gamma are you ready?
Gamma: As ready as I�ll every be.
Carter: Ok then lets go.
They head down this long hallway to room 225. Just as they get to the door they run into Detective Farris.
Detective Farris: Mrs. Carter I�m glad that you came I know this will be hard.
Gamma: Detective it wont be hard putting these guys in jail where they belong.
Carter: Gamma just stay clam.
Gamma: No John I wont stay clam I�m mad and I will put these guys where they belong.
Detective Farris: That�s good and as soon as this is all over you can get your stuff back.
Gamma: That�s all I want.
Detective Farris: Well you could sit out here until they call you or you can go in and listen.
Carter: It�s up to you.
Gamma: Lets go in I would like to watch what happens.
Detective Farris: Ok you are the 4 one to be called. So it maybe a hour or so. Court will start in 15mins they are bring the suspects in.
Carter: Ok then Gamma lets fine a seat and wait.
They take a seat and wait 15mins pass and court starts. The judge walks in and everyone rises.
End Scene One:
John and Gamma have been sitting and listening to what has been going on. Things have been slow and on going.
Scene Two:
Sometime laps and the Judge announces that they will take a lunch break and court will reconvene at 1pm.
Carter: Gamma I�m going to call Lucy and Let her know how things are going.
Gamma: Ok
Carter: When I get back we can go for lunch if you want?
Gamma: Sounds good to me.
Carter gets his phone and calls Lucy.
Carter: Jerry can I talk to Lucy.
Jerry: Hold on.
Jerry puts the phone down to get Lucy. Moments later Lucy gets on the line.
Lucy: Hey John how are you.
Carter: Ok . How�s things there?
Lucy: Slow, but anything could happen. How�s Gamma?
Carter: She�s hanging in there she hasn�t testify yet. They took a break for lunch so it will probable be after that.
Lucy: Really. It�s too bad that she had to wait so long to testify.
Carter: I know, but it made be 3pm before we get out of here. I�m really not sure.
Lucy: Well I can take to train to the house and meet you there.
Carter: No just hang out there and I�ll get you when we are done here.
Lucy: Are you sure?
Carter: Yes as soon as we are done I�ll pick you up.
Lucy: Ok then. I better go before Luka starts looking for me.
Carter: Ok I'll see you later. Love you.
Lucy: Love you too.
Carter hangs up with Lucy and heads back to take Gamma to get a bite to eat.
End Scene Two:
John and Gamma head down to the cafe.
Scene Three:
Carter: Gamma how are you holding up?
Gamma: Now John stop worrying I�m fine I just want to get this over with.
Carter: Well after the break it shouldn�t take long.
Gamma: The faster the better.
Sometime laps and they are finishing eating.
Carter: ( looking at his watch ) Well we better get back it�s almost one.
Gamma: Ok, lets get this over with.
They head back to the court room they take their seats and the judge enters.
Judge: Peoples call your next witness.
DA: People Call Mrs. Millicent Carter.
Gamma makes her way up to the stand. She gets sworn in.
Gamma: I do.
DA: Mrs. Carter can you tell the court what happen to you on the night of May 5th.
Gamma: Yes I was getting ready to go to bed. When I heard a noise in the kitchen. I went to check on it when I enter the kitchen there were two men standing there.
DA: Then what happen?
Gamma: Of course I was scared and shocked. The one man pulled out a gun and told me to get down on the floor. I guess I didn�t get down fast enough because that�s when the other man pushed me down. I guess that�s when I sprained my wrist.
DA: Ok Mrs. Carter, Do you see the men that where in your home on the night of May 5th?
Gamma: ( Pointing to men at the table ) Yes it was them.
DA: I see you have a black eye. How did that happen?
Gamma: After I was pushed down they tied my hands and put me in a chair in the living room. After they finished taking everything they wanted. The man with the gun hit me in the face to knock me out. That�s how I got the black eye.
DA: Thank you. No more questions your honor.
Judge: Your witness.
Defense Attorney: Mrs. Carter how many men where involved?
Gamma: The two men that where in the kitchen. Then when getting into the living room there where two more.
Defense Attorney: So there were 4 men total.
Gamma: Yes.
Defense Attorney: After you were taken into the living room you were shaken from the fall correct.
Gamma: If you mean from when the man pushed me down from the fall. Then yes I was a bit shaken, but I knew what was going on.
Defense Attorney: Just answer the question. So you were shaken?
Gamma: Yes
Defense Attorney: So when the men left you can�t be sure who hit you.
Gamma: I was shaken not blind it was that man who hit me with the gun.
Defense Attorney: But can you be for sure?
Gamma: Yes.
Defense Attorney: But how, you were shaken.
Gamma: Because he was the only one who had a gun.
Defense Attorney: And there was no way he could have given the gun to one of the other men.
Gamma: NO he was the boss he sat in the chair across from me pointing that gun in my face telling the other men what to take.
Defense Attorney: Nothing further your honor.
Judge: You may step down Mrs. Carter.
Gamma makes her way to her seat.
End Scene Three:
They make their closing arguments. The judge gives the jury their instructions and they are released to go and deliberate.
Scene Four:
Out in the hallway we see Gamma and Carter sitting and talking.
Carter: Gamma you did really good up there.
Gamma: Well it wont mean nothing if they get away with it.
Carter: I can�t see then getting away with it.
Gamma: Well you know how things go nothing every goes right.
Carter: Don�t worry I have a feeling things will go right this time.
Just then the DA. walks over the Carter and Gamma .
DA: The jury is back.
Carter: Already is that good or bad.
DA: Well with only a hour out it could go both ways, but I no reason the believe these guys will get off.
Gamma: Ok then lets go see.
The jury walks out then the two men come out. Later the judge enters and everyone rises.
Judge: Jury have you reached your verdict?
Foreman: Yes we have your honor.
Judge: Please read your verdict.
Foreman: We the jury find the defendants guilty.
Judge: We will have sentencing tomorrow at 9am courts adjured.
With it all over court is dismissed and everyone starts to leave.
End Scene Four:
Now that everything is done Gamma starts to wonder if she will get her stuff back.
Scene Five:
Gamma: Now that this is over will I get my things back?
DA: There will be some paperwork to take care of, but after that you should be able to get you things back.
Gamma: Thank you.
Carter: Thank you.
Gamma: John I guess we can go then.
Carter: Yeah I need to go pick up Lucy she got off a hour ago.
Gamma: Why don�t you take me home first then you and Lucy can go out for dinner.
Carter: Ok Gamma Thank you.
Gamma: So why don�t you call her and let her know.
Carter calls Lucy she was still in the ER and was happy to know her and Carter would have a night out.
Carter drops Gamma off and makes his way to pick up Lucy.
Outside County General he sees Lucy standing there waiting for him.
Carter: Need a ride beautiful?
Lucy: Well I was waiting for my finance, but I guess I could go with you.
Carter: Not funny ( Giving her a kiss ) How is everything?
Lucy: Fine not too bad today. I�m glad things with Gamma went good.
Carter: Yeah she is just ready to get her stuff back so she could put this behind her.
Lucy: I hope she can get it all back.
Carter: I�m not sure how much but, I know some of it.
Lucy: Good... So where are we going for dinner?
Carter: Don�t worry I know the perfect place.
Outside the restaurant....
Lucy: This Place is too expensive.
Carter: Don�t worry about that.
Lucy: Besides that I�m not dress for this place.
Carter: You look fine.
Lucy: You�re just saying that.
Carter: Well maybe but, it�s the truth.
Lucy: Anyways you need reservations for this place. They have a month long waiting list.
Carter: Maybe so but, don�t worry.
They walk up to be seated.
Host: Evening Dr. Carter table for 2?
Carter: Yes thank you.
Lucy: Ok so is that the thing about being a �Carter� you get a table.
Carter: Well sometimes the name helps.
Lucy: I heard it does.
They order dinner sit and talk for sometime.
End Scene Five:
Hours later they make their way home.
Final Scene:
Carter: I didn�t realize how late it was.
Lucy: Well we will just have to be quiet.
Carter: How quiet can you be?
Lucy: The question isn�t how quiet can I be but, how quiet can you be.
Carter: Oh I can be quiet.
Lucy: Carter when do you think we should talk about setting the date?
Carter: Well we have some idea if you want to get marry here in the garden then it should be in the early Spring or Early Summer.
Lucy: That�s true, but we have time to talk about that.
Carter: Whatever you want is fine with me.
Carter moves closer to Lucy and Kisses her and begins taking her shirt off. They kiss more and get into bed and begin to make love ............
