It’s Carter first day back since he got suspended for having a relationship with Lucy.

Lucy: Ready John?

Carter: Ready as I’ll every be.

Lucy: Don’t worry it wont be that bad.

Carter: Well you already had the third degree. Now it’s mine turn.

Lucy: Hey they asked me everything about us so there shouldn't be anymore to ask.

Carter: Oh believe me there is always something they didn’t ask you.

Lucy: Well I was already asked, how good you are in bed.

Carter: WHAT!!

Lucy makes her way into the ER while Carter follows wondering what she met by that.

Carter: Lucy what did you say?

Lucy: Carter it’s no big deal it was just some girl talk. I’m sure you will have your guy talk.

Carter: What did you tell them?

Lucy: I told them you could use some help ? (Saying as she walks toward the desk)

Carter: ( Following her ) Luce you didn’t?

Lucy: No I didn’t , but the look on your face was priceless. Carter: Lucy that was not funny.

Lucy heads into the lounge leaving Carter wondering what did she really say to them.

Jerry: Hey Carter welcome back.

Carter: Thanks Jerry.

Jerry: So how was it?

Carter: How was what?

Jerry: ( Saying with a smile ) You know.

Carter: Jerry I really don’t think my relationship with Lucy is any of your concern.

Jerry: I was just asking how you 2 weeks off was that’s all.

Carter: Sorry it was fine.

Jerry: Well since you said something........

Carter: Don’t even go there.

Jerry: Well I just thought.

Carter: Stop thinking.

Carter leaves to go to the lounge.

When Carter walks into the lounge Lucy is there talking with Chuny and Lydia ad he enters the giggle.

Scene Two:

Carter: Did I miss the joke.

Lucy: No not at all.

Chuny: Nope just girl talk.

Carter: That’s what I’m afraid of.

Lydia: Don’t worry it’s all good.

Lydia and Chuny leave, while Carter and Lucy are left in the lounge together.

Carter: What was that all about?

Lucy: Nothing really.

Carter: Like what.

Lucy: Don’t worry John I have never said anything to any one about our relationship. The only one that knows anything is Carol.

Carter: Really.

Lucy: Yes really and don’t worry.

Carter: Then what was all the giggling about.

Lucy: Cunni was talking about her boyfriend and how he was last night. That’s all. Now I need to go check on a patient. I’ll see you later.

She gives Carter a kiss and leaves. Just then Mark enters the lounge.

Mark: Hey Carter.

Carter: Going home?

Mark: Yes , but back at midnight.

Carter: Oh.

Mark: Well I’ll see you later and by the way welcome back. Carter: Thanks.

Carter goes to check on the board.

Malucci: Hey Carter.

Carter: Hello Dave.

Malucci: So how was your mini vacation?

Carter: Fine

Mallucci: It must be nice spending 2 weeks in bed with your women.

Carter: First of all the women has a name, and second it’s really none of your business.

Malucci: Sorry I was just saying....

Carter: Dave you are never just anything.

Malucci: Ok so should I just assume she is good in bed.

Carter: Drop it Dave.

Malucci: So you will never tell how good.......

Carter: SHUT UP DAVE!!!!

Malucci: Ok, Ok, I got it.

Carter: Good

Malucci leaves before he upsets Carter anymore.

Carter: So what’s good on the board?

Carol: I have a 17 year old girl 7 months pregnant with abdominal pains.

Carter: Where is she?

Carol: Curtain 3 ( Handing him the chart )

Carter: I knew I could count on you.

Carter makes his way to see the patient on the way he runs into Lucy.

Lucy: Hey.

Carter: Hey

Lucy: What’s wrong?

Carter: I just wished this day was over already.

Lucy: We just got here.

Carter: Yes I know , but still...

Lucy: I can’t believe things are that bad. Just keep this in mind. When we get home we can take a long bath in the Jacuzzi.

Carter: That will be the only thing to get me though this day.

With a gentle kiss they go to their patients.

Curtain 3:

Carter: Hello Molly I’m Dr. Carter I see your 7 months pregnant and you are having abdominal pains.

Molly: Yes

Carter: Ok lets get CBC and Chem7. Also an ultra sound. How long have you had these pains.

Molly: Just today, but a few months ago I came in with the same pains. That’s when I found out I was pregnant.

Carter: Ok then we’ll get your test going and I’ll check your chart to see when you where here last time. Do you remember who the doctor was?

Molly: Not sure she was young and pretty.

Carter: Lucy Knight?

Molly: Yes that was the doctor.

Carter: Ok I’ll go check on things and be back shortly.

Carter leaves to order the tests for Molly and goes to fine Lucy so he can let her know what is going on.

Carter is looking for Lucy when Connie lets him know about Molly’s test.

Connie: I have the test results for Molly. ( Handing him the chart )

Carter: ( Looking at the chart ) She has diabetes. Connie get the ultra sound and meet me by Molly in 15 minutes.

Connie: Ok, 15 minutes

Carter goes to find Lucy.

Exam Room 1:

Carter: Lucy do you have a sec.

Lucy: Yeah, what’s up?

Carter: Do you remember a patient about 6 months ago by the name of Molly?

Lucy: Molly not sure. What did she come in with?

Carter: She was 17 she had Abdominal pains you ran some test and found out she was 12 weeks pregnant.

Lucy: Yeah that was around the time we went to Michigan. Why?

Carter: She’s back now 7 months along now with abdominal pains.

Lucy: She kept the baby?

Carter: Yes, you’re surprise.

Lucy: Not really I was just afraid she would not keep the baby.

Carter: I ran some test and she has diabetes, but I’m not sure what is causing the abdominal pains. So I’m getting ready to do an Ultra sound. I thought you might want to be there.

Lucy: Yes lets go.

Carter and Lucy make their way the check on Molly.

Entering Curtain 3:

Lucy: Hi Molly nice to see you again. How are you feeling?

Molly: I’m doing ok I guess.

Lucy: Don’t worry Molly you are in good hands Dr. Carter is a very good doctor.

Molly: Yes he is and a cute one too.

Carter: ( Smiling ) Ok Molly we are going to do the ultra sound now.

Lucy gets Molly set up for the ultra sound.

Carter: Ok Molly this will be a bit cold. ( Putting the gel on her belly )

Molly: I never get use to that stuff.

Lucy: I don’t understand why it is always so cold.

Carter: Ok Molly so far so good. How has things been for you? Have you felt the baby move?

Molly: I really never thought about it. I guess I just thought it was moving. Why is something wrong?

Carter: Still checking things out.

Carter gives Lucy a look that’s not very good, but knows what is going on.

Lucy: Molly when you went to your doctor’s appointment did they check for a heartbeat?

Molly: Yes why? You guys are really starting to scare me. What is going on?

Lucy: Clam down let Dr. Carter finish the test.

Carter: When was your last appointment?

Molly: A month ago I had my next appointment in 3 days. Please just tell me what’s wrong.

Carter: Molly I’m afraid that I’m not getting a heartbeat.

Molly: ( Starting to Cry ) Oh my god how can this be. I don’t understand.

Carter: Molly I’m going to call your Obgyn and see what she can tell me, Don’t worry too much I know it’s hard but just stay calm.

Lucy: If you like Molly I could stay with you.

Molly: Yes, thank you.

Lucy: Ok I’ll be right back.

Lucy walks out with Carter so they can talk.

Lucy: What could be wrong?

Carter: I’m not sure, but it’s not good.

Carter goes to call Molly’s doctor while Lucy goes to sit with her.

Molly: Thank you for sitting with me.

Lucy: Don’t worry. I’m not doing anything right now.

Molly: How long have you and Dr. Carter been together?

Lucy: How did you know?

Molly: It’s easy to see how much he loves you.

Lucy: Almost a year.

Molly: I could tell by the way he looks at you. ( Putting her hand on her stomach ) I bet you never thought I would keep the baby.

Lucy: I was hoping you would.

Molly: Well I took your advice and things worked out between Danny and I. Danny oh my god with everything going on I can’t believe I didn’t call him yet.

Lucy: Well you could call him now. ( handing her the phone ) I’ll go out to see if I can found anything out for you while you call Danny.

Molly: Ok thank you Dr. Knight.

Lucy: Your welcome, but please call me Lucy.

Lucy leaves to go find Carter. Seeing him on the phone yelling.

Carter: That was irresponsible of you. Well you should have said something now it’s too late for the baby. No don’t worry I’ll tell her. ( Slamming the phone down ) Damn it.

Lucy: John what is it?

Carter: She said she was trying to wait to see if there were any changes.

Lucy: That what would change?

Carter: The last two appointments Molly had the doctor never hear a heartbeat. She was hoping it would be different this time.

Lucy: What the hell was she waiting for her to go into labor and tell her the baby was dead.

Carter: I guess so. Now I have to go let her know the bad news.

Lucy: First Mr. Baker dies and now Molly’s baby why are all my patients coming back with problems.

Carter: It’s not your fault about this.

Lucy: I know your right but it still is not easy knowing maybe I could have done something.

Carter: The only person to blame here is her Ob.

Lucy: Carter if you don’t mind I would like to tell Molly.

Carter: Are you sure you want to?

Lucy: Yes...

Carter: Ok if you need me let me know.

Lucy: I will.

Lucy makes her way to Molly to let her know what they found out. While Carter pages Dr. Coburn to come down.

Exam Room 3 Lucy enters and sees Molly resting.

Lucy: Molly are you ok?

Molly: Yeah. Did Dr. Carter find out what is going on?

Lucy: I would like to check with the ultra sound again. If that’s ok with you.

Molly: Sure.

Lucy setting up the ultra sound she looks to see if she can find a heartbeat.

A few moments later still unable to locate the heartbeat. Lucy turns to tell Molly, but before she could say anything Molly speaks.

Molly: My baby is dead.

Lucy: I’m sorry Molly.

Molly: ( Tears rolling down her face ) What happen?

Lucy: We are not sure yet, but Dr. Coburn our obgyn is coming down to check on you she may have a better understanding of this.

Molly: Was it something I did or didn’t do?

Lucy: No Molly I’m sure you did everything right this is not your fault.

Just then Dr. Coburn and Carter walk in.

Carter: Molly has Lucy told you about what is going on.

Molly: Yes my baby is dead.

Dr. Coburn: Molly I have talked to Dr. Carter about what’s going on. I checked the ultra sound and I’m sorry to tell you but the baby is still born.

Molly: How could this happen? I went to all my doctor appointments and she never said anything.

Carter: I spoke to your doctor and she said she notice something was wrong, but was trying to wait to see if there were any changes.

Dr. Coburn: In some cases this can happen with young mothers.

Molly: What can I do?

Dr. Coburn: Well you could keep carrying the baby and wait to go into labor. The other choice is having a c-section tomorrow.

Molly: Could I wait to talk to my husband?

Dr. Coburn: Sure just have Dr. Carter page me when you decide what to do.

Molly: Thank you.

Molly: No thank you. But could you let my husband know where I’m at.

Carter: Are you ok Luce?

Lucy: Yeah why wouldn’t I be.

Carter: I know this is hard for you.

Carter: Luce it’s okay to be upset. Hell I’m upset.

Lucy: Really John I’m fine. I’ll see you later.

Lucy leaves Carter and goes to check on Some more patients.

Carter: Jerry have you seen Lucy?

Jerry: No sorry

Carter goes to see if she is in the lounge.

Carol: Hey Carter

Carter: Hi Carol. Have you seen Lucy?

Carol: She came in about 30 minutes ago and grabbed her coat and left.

Carter: Thanks

Knowing were she went Carter grabs his coat.

On the Roof:

Carter: Hey sweetie.

Lucy: Sorry I just wanted to get away from it all.

Carter: It’s okay hon , but if you needed to talk you could have came to me.

Lucy: I know it’s just that I can’t believe how things work out for some people.

Carter: Do you want me to lie and tell you things get better?

Lucy: No Why lie it doesn't help. What did she decide to do?

Carter: She went up to labor and delivery about a hour ago.

Lucy: Oh so she will have the c-section.

Carter: Yeah

Lucy: You never know what tomorrow brings you can be happy one day and the next sad. What’s the use?

Carter: ( Standing up taking her by the hand ) Come on lets go home. We have a long night ahead of us.

Lucy: Why do we have a long night ahead of us?

Carter: Because we have a wedding to plan.

Lucy: Are you sure you want to do this?

Carter: Yes I’m very sure.

They hug and take each others hand and leave to go home.
