Lucy and Carter are at home it’s 1am.

Lucy: I can’t believe how late it is?

Carter: I never get use to the time.

Lucy: Well it gets harder and harder as the days go by ( she drops to the bed) please tell me it gets easier when I become a doctor.

Carter: Sorry can’t do that it gets worst if you ask me. ( he starts rubbing her feet)

Lucy: Wonderful....

Carter: So I’m going to order some take out so we can start planning.

Lucy: John are you sure you want to start planning.

Carter: Yes... So stop worrying.

Lucy: Ok then I’m going to change and I’ll meet you downstairs.

Carter: What do you feel like eating?

Lucy: Honestly I would like some pizza.

Carter: Really and would you like beer with that too.

Lucy: Sure I don’t work tomorrow.

Carter: Ok then pizza and beer it is.

Carter goes to order their late dinner while Lucy changes.

Downstairs Lucy finds that Carter is not there, but she sees a note on the table.

I went to pick up the pizza and beer. I'm also going to make a quick stop. be back in 30 minutes.

Lucy: Don’t fall asleep easy for him to say. If he only knew how tired I was.

Lucy turns on the TV and starts flipping through the channels. Laying down on the couch she begins falling asleep.

About a hour later Carter walks in. Lucy jumps up off the couch.

Carter: Are you falling asleep on me ?

Lucy: Of course not. What’s those?

Carter: That’s what took so long. I went to rent some movies. Thought we could use some suggestions.

Lucy: ( Taking the movies from him ) “The Wedding Planner”
“My Best Friend’s Wedding”
“Father of the Bride”
Carter: Damn it I told the guy I didn’t want that one. I ’m sorry.

Lucy: Don’t worry it’s no big deal.

Carter: Are you sure?

Lucy: Yes really.

They sit down put a move on and start to eat.

Carter: Ok so where do we start?

Lucy: Well we know where we want to have the wedding and reception.

Carter: Well that was easy. Now what.

Lucy: I guess we need to pick a date.

Carter: Ok then a date it is. What time of the year?

Lucy: Well it’s outside so the Spring or Summer. Not to late in the Summer too hot.

Carter: Ok so the months we have to work with are. March, April , May, and being of June.

Lucy: Ok then lets start.

Lucy grabs a pad of paper and pen. While Carter looks for a calendar.

Carter and Lucy start to plan the wedding date.

Carter: Ok lets start with what dates wont work.

Lucy: ( looking at the calendar ) Anything after March 15th is a start.

Carter: That’s right graduation day.

Lucy: What about March 20th?

Carter: No good Gamma has her annual fundraiser and it in the garden.

Lucy: Ok April 1st. ( thinking about what that is ) Never mind.

Carter: Thank you I don’t think April Fool’s Day would be good. May 15th.

Lucy: It doesn’t sound right. May 30th.

Carter: Gamma’s birthday. May 25th.

Lucy: Mom’s birthday. God this is hard. June 1st.

Carter: No!!!!!!

Lucy: What’s wrong with that one?

Carter: Lets just say I don’t want to remember our day on that day.

Lucy: Ok we are never going to agree on a date. ( throwing the paper and pen on the table )

Carter: Don’t give up we will pick a date.

They sit throwing dates around still not coming up with anything.

It’s now 4am and Lucy is really getting frustrated.

Lucy: I can’t do this anymore every date I come up with you always say no to.

Carter: You are doing it to my dates too.

Lucy: Well maybe we should just stop trying then.

Carter: Ok I feel a fight coming on.

Lucy: I’m not fighting. I’m sleepy that’s all. We are having on luck with this tonight.

Carter: I told you we were going to do this tonight and we are.

Lucy: No I’m done we can finish this tomorrow. I’m going to bed.

Heading upstairs:

Carter: Luce don’t do this?

Lucy: Do what?

Carter: Give up?

Lucy: I’m not. I’m just going to bed.

Carter: Well maybe we should just forget about it.

Lucy: ( stopping at the top of the stairs ) What you don’t want to get marry?

Carter: Well you are the one giving up.

Lucy: John you are over reacting. I’m just going to bed.

Carter: Look I made a promise to set a date tonight and damn it I will.

Lucy: Find pick the damn date. I don’t care.

Lucy heads to bed while Carter sits on the couch looking at the calendar. A hour passes and Carter takes the red marker and circles a date.

Going upstairs:

Carter: Lucy are you awake?

Lucy: Yeah I couldn’t sleep knowing you were upset with me.

Carter: I’m not upset. I thought you would be upset with me.

Lucy: I’m not.

Carter: I want to show you something.

Lucy: What?

Carter: ( showing her the calendar ) What about this?

Lucy: ( Looking at the calendar ) So this is what you came up with? ( smiling) That’s it our wedding date. Yes.....

Carter: You’re ok with it?

Lucy: It’s perfect, I love it and I love you. I’m sorry.

Carter: It’s ok. So that’s it. I can’t wait to say I do to you and make you Mrs. John Carter.

Lucy: I also can’t wait.

Carter: Lets go to bed.

They kiss and lay down in each others arms and fall asleep.
