Author’s note: I really like Lucy and Carter as a couple and I was very depressed when she left us. Please don’t be bad with tour commentaries.
Summary: After Lucy’s death, Carter remade his life. He and Abby are going to get married. Carol and Doug came back from Seattle.

In the ER’s admit desk they were all talking about Abby and Carter’s wedding. No one could believe that the wedding’s day was so near, all the staff was very excited.
Carter: Hey, what are you doing?
Jerry: We were talking about you
Carter: Uh, well I suppose it’s good to know about that…. Mmm you were talking good or bad things?
Mark: Well we heard Kerry Weaver is going to fire you
Carter: What?!!! Why?!!!!
All started to laugh hysterically
Carol: Don’t believe them sweetie we were talking about your wedding
Haleh: It’s almost a miracle that you’re not marrying with a blond
Lydia: Yes, all of we, know you really like blonds
Carter’s face was all flushed
Carter: Well blonds are fine but it’s not a condition, I love Abby…..really
Mark: We’re only joking, we all love her
Chunny: But if we think, almost all of your girlfriends had been blonds with a few exceptions
All the staff started to named them off
Carol: Liz
Jerry: Harper
Connie: Anna
Mark: Roxanne
Benton that was walking, added
Benton: Abby Keaton the paediatric surgeon
All: Carter!!
Malik: Wait. We can’t forget Lucy
Everybody made a long silence and looked at Carter, his eyes always full of life now were really sad.
Malik: Sorry Carter
Carol: Honey are you OK?
John: Yeah…. I’m, I’m fine I have to go, I have a Patient
Chunny gave Malik a slap in the shoulder, thanks Mr. Sensitivity
Malik: I said that I was sorry
In the lounge Abby was in her break looking a lot of catalogues about dresses, flowers and all she’ll need for the wedding. When suddenly John entered, she gave him a smile and walked next to him. She put her arms around him and kiss him on the lips.
John: What were you doing?
Abby: Oh. I was looking this catalogues, don’t you think this places are lovely
John: Yeah….. they look very nice
Abby: Well now you’re here, tell me what you want, roses or lilies?
John: I think roses will be perfect
Abby: Oh, Are you sure about roses?
She said that putting the lily’s picture in front of his face
John: Or, maybe it could be lilies
Abby: Oh, thanks honey
John: Ouch
Lucy: Oh come on, it’s tiny, it doesn’t even need stitch
John: Ouch
Lucy: Baby, there (she kisses his forehead) Better?
John: Much

Lucy’s first day
Lucy: Right, Dr. Carter
Jerry: Please, don’t call him Doctor Carter! Then you’ll never be able to live with him…
Lucy: What SHOULD I call you?
Jerry: He’s just…Carter!
John: Dr. Carter will be fine

He falls and dislocated his shoulder
John: We should have gone over shoulder reductions
Lucy puts his arm to fix the shoulder
Lucy: I respect you- you’re a good teacher and you must be a good person otherwise you wouldn’t be out here.

He hugged her and she put her head on his shoulder

John: Not Lucy, not now
Lucy: Just forget it Carter

John: Somebody
He fall down and he saw Lucy lying on the floor on her own blood.
John: Lucy
He heard a voice at the distance
John??!!!, John??!!!, Where are you?, I can’t find you!!, Please John!! Answer me!!, I need you!! John!!!!
John: Oh God!!!!
Suddenly John wake up, crying, he felt really bad, he was dreaming about Lucy, again.
Since he and Abby were together he stopped dreaming about her but now she was in his dreams again.
Abby woke up too
Abby: John, honey, are you ok? What happened?
John: Abby?
Abby: John, you’re so pale. Don’t worry it was only a nightmare
John: It wasn’t a nightmare, except the last part
Abby: What were you dreaming about?
John doesn't responded
Doug: There is the lucky man
Luka: Hey Carter, are you nervous?
John doesn't respond, his thoughts were in his dream
Benton: Carter, man are you ok?
John: What?
Benton: Luka was asking you if you were nervous
John: No, I’m not nervous, I was thinking about something, we better go now
In the wedding
Abby was waiting in the limo, John was a half an hour late
Abby: Where is he?
Romano who was listening
Romano: If he is intelligent he must be at the airport
Abby: I’m sure his gonna come
Romano: Yeah, if you say so
Peter was on the sidewalk and he saw John running
Peter: Where have you been? Come on, you're late
In the Ceremony
Priest: Beloved friends, here we are to celebrate the marriage of these two great people, John and Abby, their love for each other has brought them here in this beautiful afternoon.
In this moment John was thinking about his dreams, about his feelings, about…Lucy.
Priest: Abby do you take John as your husband to love him and respect him all the days of your life in wealth or poverty, in health or illness, in happiness and sadness, ‘till death do you apart?
Abby: Yes, I do
Priest: John, the same question for you.
Do you take her as your lovely wife?
John made a long silence
John: Yes, I do, I take Lucy
Everybody turned to John and started to gossip
Benton: Oh man
Malucci who was with two girls: That’s no good
Priest: John, do you take Abby, ABBY as your wife?
He didn’t respond
Abby: John??
John: Abby I’m sorry
And with that he just walked away towards the door
Mark, Peter and Doug followed him
Peter: What happened man?
John: I can’t do it, it’s just that I’ve been having these dreams for the last week
Mark: About?
John: About…, no, I have to go now, I need to do something
And he run towards his car, and drove without destiny. Suddenly he stopped and got off his car, then he walked towards a lonely grave and put a white rose on it.
John: Lucy…I didn’t know how much I miss you, I didn’t want to admit it but I’m still in love with you, in fact I always have been.
I don’t know how can I be alive without you, and I almost got married trying to hide my real feelings.
He sat down on his knees and touched the grave with his hands, feeling the letters of her name with his fingers, and tears started to flow from his eyes.
In the ER
Carol: I’ve never seen someone run as faster as Carter
Dous: Yeah, so how’s Abby
Haleh.: poor girl, she’ in the lounge with Kerry
Mark.- I can’t believe John did that , he seemed so in love
Doug.- may be he was scared , I can believe that
Carol.- you can believe what sweetheart
Meanwhile John was in his car driving, after leaving Lucy’s grave he felt more depressed than he ever had in his life. He was lost in his thoughts in how different life would be if Lucy was with him , if she never had died... he started to imagine another life.
Cut to...
Lucy walking to the lounge , she bent down and kissed John’s cheek
Lucy._ John are you ok? Come on a penny for your thoughts
John.- Oh , Luce
He turned to look at her a smile appeared in his face
She sat down next to him and touch his hand. He closed the distance between them, and put a hand on her chin and gave her a gently but passionate kiss
In the ER Carol, Doug , Mark , Jerry and some nurses were still talking about the almost wedding
Jerry.- the better part was when Romano started to sing "we are family" tying to convince the guests to stay
Doug.- I think that was creepy
Haleh.- guys, trauma in 5 minutes
Mark.- we are on the road
Doug, Haleh, Mark and Carol went5 to the ambulance bay
Mark.- hi Doris . What did you bring us?
Carol.- oh , God it’s Carter!
Doris.- he had a car accident
Doug.- give us the bullet
Doris.- leg, lac, head concussion, broken ribs BP 90/50 ox 83, pulse 120
Mark.- someone page Benton and Elizabeth come on 1, 2,3 nice and easy. I need CBC, CT , CHEM7 and 2 units of o negative , call x-ray too
Elizabeth.- where are we ?
Benton.- is it Carter?
Malucci.- oh , man
Doug .- what are you doing here?(to Malucci)
Malucci.- Haleh , told me
Benton.- come on people , I don’t want Carter dead on my table
Mark.- number 8 ET tube
Suddenly Abby entered to trauma
Abby.- what happened?(she saw Carter on the table) oh my God John!!!
Benton.- someone get her out of here
Malucci.- come with me Abby
Abby.- no, I’m going to stay here
Malucci.- you’ll only bother us in here
Abby .- but..
Malucci.- come on
Benton.- oh man, he is bleeding internally
Mark.- let’s carry him to the OR
When they on the hallways near to the elevator , John saw Lucy next to him holding his hand all the time
John.- Luce??
Lucy.- don’t worry I’m with you, as I always be
In the OR
Elizabeth makes the scalpel incision and Romano uses the sternal
Benton.- rib- spreader
Romano.- suction
Shirley.- V-fib
Kit.- BP is falling 80/60
Lizzie started to shock Carter’s heart
Next day in the recovery room...
Lizzie.- hi Carter, how are you doing?
Carter.- yesterday I saw Lucy in the hallway she was holding my hand
Lizzie.- you miss her right?
Carter.- a lot
Lizzie.- me too (Lizzi’s pager started to sound) oh, they need me in the ER see you later , Carter
Kit.- hold on he’s sat down to 82
Lizzie.- what is it? Chest pain? Sudden onset .......oh my God PE
Back to the real time
Lizzie.- Kit page Romano
They were carrying him to the OR when Benton appeared
Benton.- what’s going on?
Romano.-we are going to scan him for a pulmonary embolism
Benton.- PE?
IN THE OR
Benton.- don’t worry man, I’m going to get you through this
Carter.- it seems that you are always saving my ass
Benton.- it’s because you are always getting into trouble
Carter gave Benton a weak smile
After the operation Doug entered to Carter’s room
Carter.- what are you doing here?
Doug.- I wanted to know how are you doing
Carter.- now that I remember, you owe me 5 bucks , Doug Ross
Doug.- I’ll pay that later . Abby is outside, she wants to see you
Carter.- tell her to come in
Abby walked in looking into John’s eyes
John.- hey
Abby.- hey you
John.- I’m really sorry for yesterday
Abby.- don’t worry about that. One part of me always knew that you loved Lucy You’re still in love with her aren't you?
John.- yes, Abby I still love her and I know she is waiting for me. Abby, please say goodbye to everyone for me
Abby.- no, John don’t say that, you’re not going to die I won’t let you
Lucy appeared next to John
Lucy.- honey, it’s time
Suddenly the monitors started to beep wildly
Abby.- Dr. Corday, Dr Benton, Dr. Romano . come here! , hurry up!
They entered to the room...
Romano.- Abby stay back
Benton.- Elizabeth! Charged to 200
Lizzie.- clear
Romano.- flat line
Benton.- 250
Lizzie.- clear
(Doug entered to the room) what happened? Abby was crying
Romano.- 300 . come on Lizzie!
Benton.- charged it to the maxim
John’s body fell heavily on the table. The flat line was still on the monitor
Romano.- damn it!
Benton.- no, no Elizabeth keep trying!
Lizzie.- Peter
Peter went to the doors and pushed them
Romano.- Lizzie call it
Lizzie.- time of death...
Romano.- what’s wrong? Call it

Lucy and John were looking over everything
John.- I hope they’ll be ok., I’m going to miss them
Lucy.- they are going to miss you too
(Lucy walked next to Abby) I’m really sorry for her she really loved you
John.- I know
She walked next to John
Luce.- I love you
John.- I love you too
He kissed her gently on the lips
Lucy.- come on, John it’s time to go home
Carol was talking about the day she met John when he was just a med-student . Everyone remembered that with a sad smile on their faces
After Carol it was Peter’s turn
Peter.- Carter, was not only was my med-student he was my friend . Maybe I didn’t tell him this but I really did respect him as a doctor , as a person as a friend. I think he could have been a great surgeon , but when he decided to move down to the ER I still respected him and I am sure he probably.....probably, I’m sorry I can’t continue......
He walked back to his seat and Kerry hugged him.
Kerry.- it’s ok, Peter
Mark started his speech
Mark.- I was one of Carter’s teachers when he started as a med - student , I think I will always remember Carter as a clumsy med- student, with a great heart and always a smile in his face. He was part of our family, and now that’s he’s gone we are going to miss him a lot.
Romano added a few words too.
Romano.-I don’t have a lot of stories about Carter as all of you but all that I know is that he was a damn good doctor and he really cared about people. Now we are feeling the same pain of loseing someone of our staff the same pain we felt when we lost Ms. Knight 3 years ago. The only thing I really know is that Dr Carter and Ms. Knight are taking care of all of us.
Everybody left, only Doug stayed. He walked close to John’s grave
Doug.- I owe you this buddy .
He took out a 5 dollars bill from his pocket and put it on John’s grave.
Doug still staring at it which was next to Lucy’s grave. He felt a hand on his left shoulder... it was Carol.
Carol.- come on hon, let’s go home.
