The Road To Heaven

I come from a middle class Roman Catholic family in Central India. I spent 16 years at my hometown Shahdol, a small town in Madhya Pradesh. Brought up in the Roman Catholic tradition I was taught by my parents and the Sunday school to read the Bible and pray regularly. It all sounded good and when I was about 10 years old I started having a feeling that there is a God who is more than what I hear every Sunday in church and whose name I say in my everyday prayers without really knowing what they mean. All I can say that I took faith to be some kind of superficial concept, without even knowing the truth about God and His salvation.

            I moved to a bigger city Jabalpur to finish my High school and that�s where I lost track of few things. It was after finishing my high school studies that God actually intervened and showed me who He really is. First was my getting selected in All India Engineering entrance exam, it so happened there was some error in rank calculation and I still got a very good All India rank with which I could get a good college and without which I would have dropped 1 year. I knew it well that it was God who was helping me out. At that time I just prayed that God would send me to the right place to finish my studies.

            My prayer was answered, I was offered a course at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore about which I didn�t have much idea but I didn�t have many options and I knew God was with me. My Father could not afford the expenses of my studies, he decided to take a loan. God helped me in every step as I took admission to do my engineering.

            Next important matter was the kind of life that I live for 4 years at VIT. And again, God intervened and I came to know about a wonderful Christian fellowship inside the College which I joined in the very first year. And then it was all God�s will � I came to know the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ, something I know was missing all these years and I realized that it was possible that I could have one-to-one relationship with this God whom I just thought to be some supernatural power as was taught by the religion I belong to. During my stay of 4 years at VIT God helped face a lot of difficult situations and He Himself taught me the ways and the purpose of my life.

            Towards the end of my Graduation, my Heavenly Father helped me take the next step in my career and I got a job in Cognizant through on-campus placements.

            There are lot of things to write which God has taken me through since I came to know Him as my Lord and Savior, I can fill pages and pages. But there is not much space here, I guess. I just pray that my testimony will be a blessing to everyone who reads it. Do remember me in your prayers.
