About the Author

Capt. R.K. Misra was a professor in History in Gangadhar Meher College, Sambalpur. He also held important administrative positions in various education departments of Orissa.

He has taken an active interest in the history of Sambalpur. Also, he participated in Sisupalgarh Excavation in 1948. He has travelled widely, both within as well as outside the country and done a thorough study on the topic which inspired this book- Surendra Sai, a person who had fought for the cause of his people and his land.

Capt. R.K.Misra association with the history of the Chauhans comes from years of study on the subject and collections from such vital sources as Orissa Government Archieve, Nagpur Archieve and Home Library of the India Office in London. Consequently, this book has come out with a rich collection of information on Veer Surendra Sai, hereto not known beforehand.
