| Written By: Jen (owner of site) Date of concert: Nov. 15th 2002 Well, I saw Good Charlotte for the very first time on Friday. I was really excited, I wanted to see if they sounded as good live as they do on their album. I went with a few of my friends (Amy, Allison, Jen, Stephanie). We got here around 6, which is when it started, so yes, we were a little late, but there was still an enourmously large line of people. We got bored so me and Jen walked up and down the lines counting all the GC shirts, there were at least 7 that I saw. We got inside the tabu at about 6:15 (I'm guessing). there weren't too many people just yet, so it was cool. We got in the crowd while we awaited the opening bands to come out. It took so long. the first opening band was the Halo Friendlies, they weren't too bad, but all their songs sounded the same and I didn't like their voices (no one can match brody armstrong's voice, haha). Then after they did a few songs, Homegrown came out on the stage. All their asongs sounded the same, and they were just sort of being stupid. All I wanted them to do was get off the damn stage. They had to of been on there for a good while. They kept saying "okay, this is our last song", then kept dragging it on and on. I was tired of them. I got so bored that I ended up taking pictures of them (just about 5), but still, I should not have wasted those precious pictures on them. Finally after the crew came out and cleaned off the stage (they had to clean it off because marshmellows were being thrown at tHomegrown from backstage, prolly from Gc, and then benji came out and dumped the whole bag on the lead singers head, it was funny, but the girl beside me kept screaming in my ear, I wanted to shoot her) Anyways, we had to get out of the crowd because my friend had asthma and I couldn't breath also, and there were just so many people pushing, it was ridiculous, way to many people for moshing, it was reatrded. But we got on the side of the balcony, and still had a really good view, so we were happy. Then GC came out on stage to the intro "A new beggining", it was so awesome, Benji, Billy, and Paul all came out and played that part, then joel came out later and joined them. they all really great. They split their old album songs with their new one, and did really good songs (besides riot girl, and boys and girls). I was screaming all the words, so I had like no voice left, it was funny. They did a great job. I think it was during the song of the little thigns, but a girl was crowd surfing and she accidentally hit joel's micrphone and it went into his mouth so he quit singing for a second and it looked like he was wiggling his tooth or something, it wasn't cool, and then Jen told me that a guy purposly punched joel in the mouth a little, and I was like what the hell? I didn't see that one, but I'm sure it was true. Besides htat, hte conert went really well. They did an awesome job, and sounded really great (besides the fact, that I think Joel had a litlte bit of a cold, but he still sounded just fine) It was really great. Im hoping to see them at warped this summer, I'd love to them perform live again. You have to see them live. Oh, and one more thing. It was so cute. One of the girls from Halo Friendlies had a brithday (she just turned 17, she def. looked older, but yeah) and GC brought her out and sang happy b-day to her, then benji gave her a litlte kiss on the cheek, it was soooo cute. |
