Super Coupe Ground Effects Installation

Tools :

Here are some of the tools needed for this installation. Depending on the condition of the ground effects, you will probably need to prep and possibly paint before the installation. Sometimes it is easier to paint after installation. Self tapping screws, a power drill, double sided molding tape, and a solvent to prep the surface will be necessary. Laquer Thinner or Rubbing Alcohol will work fine.

Side Skirts :

Two plastic push pins on each side must be removed from the plastic wheel well underneath, near the front of the car.

The Rear Rocker panel will have to be installed first. Use the Double sided tape on the flat surface where the panel originally mounted to the SC. Be sure to prep the surface and the area of the vehicle before installation.

One Self tapping screw should be screwed in as shown here. Another is needed on the inside of the rear wheel well, and more may be used underneath the car to secure the rocker panel.

Here is the longer rocker panel; again, be sure to prep the surfaces, and use double sided tape on the inside lip.

The Rocker panel will need to be installed as shown. You must place the front piece inside the rear rocker, and be sure the inside lip is against the vehicle.

As shown here, once the rocker is in place and has been test fitted, the double sided tape may be peeled away so the panel may be installed. Be sure to line up the panel to the bottom of the door, and work your way from back to the front of the vehicle.

The original screw to hold the wheel well to the fender may be replaced once Ground effects are in place. Self tapping screws should be used on the bottom of the car to secure the piece. The plastic push pins will also be replaced.

Door Panels :
This picture shows the hole drilled on the inside of the door.
Here is the same hole from the other side.
More pictures soon ..

Rear Valance :

This is the original bumper, which will be replaced soon.

The Super Coupe Rear Bumper Cover is shown here, as the Stock Bumper Cover will be removed soon.
Note : If you Purchase the Rear Bumper Cover from a Junkyard, be sure to get the plastic piece that holds the lower valance to the Bumper. This will secure the valance and keep it from sagging down.

After removing the plastic panel on the inside of the trunk, and peeling the carpet back, the 12 bolts holding the Bumper to the car may be removed. Three screws in each wheel well, and all plastic push-pins along the underside must also be removed.

Here is a shot of the vehicle once the rear bumper cover has been removed.
The completed installation.
More Pictures and information will be added soon. 1.6.02
