D. Ventrimaculatus "Iquitos Red-Orange"

This is the fourth kind of dart I added to my collection. I must admit it was a completly unexpected addition! I had been leary of thumbnail darts because of their small size. I got him from Marty of Mist King in february 2008.
This is one of the small darts belonging to the "thumbnail" group. adults are supposed to be around 15-25mm!.
I hadn't expected to dive into the thumbnail group quite so soon, but lucked out with these. After having him for a bit I feel alot more at ease for their care. Feeding off springtails and melo fruitflies are easy and hes proved a good eater. Vents in general are supposed to be non agressive and good in groups, so i hope to have a breeding coloney one day of 2-4 pairs. They also prefer vertical tanks which I'm in the process of building for him.
