Out final year MCA students has to undergo project training in their sixth semester. In order to familiarize the students with real world situations, it is imperative for them to work in various types of organizations. Therefore, each student spent about 150 days in software organization and has learnt from the experience. The project is a crucial part of the MCA programme and provides the student with valuable opportunity to fully realize their acquire knowledge in a real working arena. During the project planning period students have visited their assigned organizations to undertake any necessary preliminary work, initiate any analysis required and submitted a plan for the completion of the project. In the main, projects, whatever their individual character, are usually primarily inform by their development planning and construction. The projects offer a valuable insight into project planning and development in an outside organization environment.

The procedure followed by the placement cell of the Department to introduce the students to the organizations is as follows:

1. The Placement Cell maintains a list of addresses of almost all software companies in India.
2. The Placement Cell prepares a brochure containing information about the course and highlights of the course.
3. The Placement Cell prepares a list of companies who are interested in taking our students for project placement together with the information for each willing company about - how may students it is likely to take, specialization is to required, whether the company is likely to pay any stipend, if so how much, and finally weather the company would come to SIBER for conducting Campus Interview or weather the students be sent to the company for the test and interview.
4. While one or two companies come for Campus Interviews, the others suggest that the students must appear for test and interview at their sight.
5. The placement cell, in either case prepare the students for test and interview and students appear for the same. It may be mentioned that except for the first batch in 1998, so far 100% Project Placement is done through the above procedure.
6. In order to achieve 100% placement, the faculty of the department visits many companies every year and personally discussed the matter with HRD personnel in the company.
7. The Placement Cell is to happy to record that most of out students arebeen paid substantial stipend; Many are being absorb in the same company where they work for project ever before their result is declared; and that out students are being paid above average initial salary.
8. For the record, it may be mentioned that during 1997-2000 only companies have come for campus . In those years when companies visited for Campus Interview, about 45 students appeared for the aptitude test of which only 2 or 3 get through the aptitude test of which one each was selected by the companies, namely Frontier Technologies, Object Edge, Fortune Software Systems, Kale Consultants, and L & T IT.
9. It may be mentioned that while our students perform well in the subject test and interview, they are usually perform below average in the general aptitude test. In fact, in view of this, the placement cell has started conducting orientation lectures to train the students for aptitude tests, since Sept.2000.
