MCA Admission Information

SIBER, an Autonomous Institute, recognised by U.G.C., A.I.C.T.E., Government of Maharashtra and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. SIBER is Accredited by NAAC with B++ Grade. The MCA program was started on July 1995 with a view to produce high quality Information Technology professionals. The students of the MCA programme undergo intensive theoretical and practical training in various aspects of Computer Science and Information System Development.

Duration : Three years (Six semesters)
No. of Seats : 60 (Sixty)
Eligibility : A Bachelors degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with at least 50% marks at the final year of graduation (preferably having passed in Mathematics as a subject at 10 + 2 std.)
Selection Procedure: The selection for admission to the programme will be based on graduation marks, and Entrance Test & Interview to be conducted at the Institute. The questions will be multiple choice type. The test is of two and half hours duration and consists of four components. 
1. Logical reasoning 2. Mathematics of 10+2 level.
3. Basics of Computer  4. English Comprehension.

Entrance Test : Monday 21st June 2004 at 11 a.m.-13.30 p.m.
Interview : Tueday 22nd June 2004 at 09 a.m. onwards.

Last date of receipt of application is 21st June 2004 upto 10.00 a.m.

You may also get the MCA Prospectus and Application form in the Institute office. The cost  is Rs. 300/- at counter and Rs. 350/- by post. To receive by post, send D.D. in favour of Director, SIBER, Kolhapur.

M.Sc. (Computer Science) Admission Information

The new M.Sc. programme will be starting from current academic year. The details will be available soon.

PGDCA Admission Information

There is a change in the nomanclature of the Diploma and newly constituted programme with detailed syllabus is still awaited... Please contact in June 2004.

Hostel Facilities

The Institute provides separate hostels for men and women in the sprawling campus. The hostels have 85 rooms.Each inmates have the facility of a hostel canteen which caters to the tastes of students from various states. There is an opportunity created for common room activities, which includes indoor games such as carrom and table tennis. 

The Campus

The Institute's campus has been built on an area of 11 acres. The campus is located in a picturesque surrounding away from the dust and din of Kolhapur city. Towards the east is the Army golf course, on the west stands the imposing structure of Shivaji University and garlanded by lust green meadows. 

The academic complex consists of classrooms, audio-visual room, administrative wing and library. The management proposes centrally air-conditioned library with audio-visual facilities, in the near future.

Sports

The Institute provides various sports facilities to the students. Having won number of medals and trophies at the Inter-University level, various state level and national sporting events, the Institute has occupied an enviable position among the colleges under the Shivaji University. In hostels also there is a facility for indoor games such as carrom and table tennis.
