Master of Computer Application (M.C.A.)

Objective: This programme was started in July, 1995 with a view to produce high quality information system professionals. The students of the MCA programme undergo intensive theoretical and practical training in various aspects of Computer Science and Information System development. So far five batches of MCA's have graduated from the Department. The first batch of MCAs from the Department graduated in June, '97.
 
 
Ideology: The recent years have witnessed a great revolution in the field of computer. These events have lead to the emergence of newer challenges and responses, such challenges and responses find their reflection in the field of education too. SIBER's school of Computer Studies provides many excellent programs to its students in order to sustain the pressure of the changing environment of IT industries. What reflects itself must evidently is an earnest pursuit to explore beyond the prescribed norms. Students have to go through seminars in almost all semesters. This sharpens their insight into the subject and sharpens their mind about different current topics in software and computer science. Workshops, seminars, Guest lectures & activities organized by the faculty are tools used to chisel and sharpen the abilities of our students. They are given exposure of authentic professionalism in their field.

Our M.C.A. Program has a number of distinctive features:
· Exposure to real world of IT is provided to students through seminars and guest lectures by eminent IT professionals and academicians.
· Case Analysis, workshop, group discussions and presentations by students on current topics are organised regularly
The classes are interactive sessions in order to enrich the discussion abilities of the students to make the subjects more interesting to the students.
· A lot of emphasis is placed on practical learning, which reinforces theoretical Inputs and facilates their application in a simulated environment.
· Practical sessions are conducted on the state-of-the-art hardware and software platforms.
· Special emphasis is given on subjects related to thrust areas like Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networks, OOPS, Client-server Architecture, RDBMS, Embedded Systems etc.
· Classes are held with religious regularity and punctuality. Training modules are arranged to develop communication skills, public speaking and interpersonal skills.
