| This page is dedicated to our first two Siberian Huskies. They
introduced us to this wonderful breed. We will forever be thankful for
that and for how they enriched our lives in so many ways. They are gone
now, over the Rainbow Bridge to play and romp forever as they wait for us. But, they will never be forgotten nor out of
our hearts. We present to you Kodi and Spunky. |

Kodi was the first Siberian Husky to come
into our lives. He was actually a birthday present to me. The most
wonderful present I have ever received. Originally, Kodi was just going to be a pet.
But, we were
talked into showing him in match shows. Along the way he grew a little oversized.
Although I was disappointed that I couldn't show him anymore, I now had the pet
I had wanted. After a day of cross country skiing in Vermont Kodi got away
from us, and I decided some obedience training was needed. That was the
beginning of a great Obedience career for him and it had me hooked on working
with these terrific dogs. All of this before Kodi's first birthday.
Kodi's first qualifying score of any kind
was in his very first obedience trial. It was
a High In Trial with a 195 1/2 at the 1985 Garden State Siberian Husky Club
Specialty Show. He earned his CD in his next two shows with scores
of 191 and 196 1/2. Open was a
little more work. But, he earned his CDX in relatively quick
fashion with very respectable scores in the mid-180s, including a first place. Utility was a challenge for both of us. Still, Kodi earned
his UD in only 17 attempts, with the first two legs coming in consecutive Trials.
During all of this Kodi ventured north of the border to earn his Canadian CD by qualifying four times in one
weekend (the only dog entered in all four of these particular trials to do so). Kodi got his
Canine Good Citizen certificate during the Autumn of 1992.

Spunky joined the family about 5 1/2 months
after Kodi. They quickly became best buddies. Spunky, too, became an
Obedience Siberian after that very same Vermont incident mentioned above.
Spunky's first-ever qualifying score was
in his first obedience trial. It was a 194 1/2 for High In Trial at the 1988 Garden State Siberian Husky Club Specialty
Show. He earned his CD in his next two shows over 4 weeks. Open was
a different story and Spunky finally got his CDX after about a year and a half
of competing. He also earned his Canadian CD, although that took two
weekends. Spunky earned his Canine Good Citizen certificate at the 1992 SHCA
National Specialty, where he was also a member of the winning team in the Team
Obedience competition.
