ENGLISH ELECTRIC TYPE 5 CLASS 50
The class 50's were originaly hired by BR from English Electric. Once the West  coast main line was fully electrified they were transfered to the Western region, and named after warships (the class 42 and class 43 "Warships" had been withdrawn by this time). They proved so unreliable that they were sent to Doncaster for overhaul. It is possible that they would have worked on test runs through Lincoln. Did anybody see one go through Saxilby?
