Deja Entendu is a revolutionary album. Not only in the emo scene but for Brand New as well. This CD is leaps and bounds above Your Favorite Weapon. Don't get me wrong I like that album but Deja Entendu is better written and musically. But might I add that I love the emo lyrics to Your Favorite Weapon A LOT!
The meaning to this album is a bit blurred to me. I'm not really sure what it is supposed to be but I guess it's core meaning would be something like ... we all die alone, eventually no matter what we will be alone so try not to let that get you down in life. That's what I got from the album basically. It's such a strong album that you have to forge your own conclusions as to what it means after you listen to it.
I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spinlight, Ok I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Won't, and Sic Transit Gloria ... Glory Fades stand out the most to me on this album. They are powerful songs capturing the best of their musical abilities. Some emo, some rock, some alternative all mixed into one making this such a great album that you would be a fool like Andy Arroyo not to buy this one!
