"Levels of Obsession"
Part 2

14.30hrs
She had gone out on the roof terrace to drink her coffee and finish the book, it was a warm spring day and the sun was almost giving way to the heat of an early summer. She slipped a pair of sunglasses on and lay down on the bench near the plunge pool and engrossed herself in Yeltsin.

A shadow fell over her, and she rolled over on her front, aware with all her senses that Alexei had returned early, and smiled up at him. He held out a hand and pulled her to her feet, "Katrin, I need you to do something for me, no questions asked." She nodded, and reached up and kissed him as her answer.

They walked back inside, she put the book down on the counter, he led her through to the office and handed her a planter and an envelope. "A driver is downstairs, can you deliver this to Melanie Thomson, at the address shown. You don't need to wait for a response." She didn't question why she was going and not a delivery guy, not did she ask any other questions, she just leaned into him and kissed him, longing for more. He smiled and patted her ass, "Don't be too long, I will have a surprise for you when you get back".

She was shown out into the corridor and into the lift, Alexei pressed the buttons to go down to the basement, where she would be met, before the doors closed, he pressed a key into her hands, "For the return trip" she pushed it into her jeans pocket and leaned back against the wall while the lift descended.

Her continued absence would be ok, Paige would cover up for her if necessary, she knew that, she just had to get Alexei out of her system, though so far, she just wanted nothing more than to be with him and her feelings for him were growing by the hour. It was almost as though her free will had gone and she was like a moth to the flame being devoured by her
desires.

The doors opened and she saw a man standing there, he spoke briefly, "I am to drive you." She nodded and gave him the address, the car was not the one Alexei had used to take her out for dinner; rather it was more basic, blending in with every other car in NY City. The journey seemed to take for ages, due to the amount of cars on the streets, but eventually he drew up outside a bank and held the door open for her to get out.

A concierge opened the doors to the building, and reception pointed the way to the 10th floor, a short walk brought her to Ms Thomson's office, and she knocked. She had obviously been expected, as the door was opened straight away. She noted idly that there were four people in the office, three men and presumably Ms Thomson. She put the planter on the desk and handed the envelope to the woman, she didn't wait for any response, instead she simply walked out and closed the door behind her and made her way back to the car.

She debated whether to go home and then decided against it, she didn't need anything and if she did she knew Alexei would get it for her and not only that, her need for him was outstripping her need for anything else.

Outside the club, there was a newsstand, and she caught sight of the headlines, endless street wars between rival gangs, muggings, nothing new, nothing different. She headed inside, and using the key let herself in to the club.

It felt different, silent and empty, sleeping while waiting for the evening. She headed for the lift and pressed the buttons, it stopped at the 4th floor, but she didn't get out, just waited for the lift to respond and head upwards once more. This time it delivered her to the corridor outside of Alexei's office, and she walked confidently towards the open door. She heard his voice, before she go there, it sounded as though he were arguing with someone, she didn't want to eavesdrop, and didn't want to walk straight in, she hesitated, undecided.

She turned around and went back to the lift, and slowly, whistling she walked back towards his door, and knocked gently to give him notice. He was standing, talking, on the telephone, but indicated for her to come in, his voice was calmer now and more controlled. She walked over to his desk and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek, but he turned his head and her mouth fell over his. It was like an electric shock, making her body tingle, she had no idea of why he made her feel the way he did, she just wanted to immerse herself in this moment in time.

He held her hand while he finished his phone call, and then smiled, "I see you came back to me" she paused, and then spoke "Wild cats couldn't keep me away from you." He took an envelope out of his pocket, "I got these for us for tomorrow night," he held out the envelope to her and curious she took it and examined the contents, two great seats to see the long running Les Miserables. She looked up and smiled, "That's wonderful Lexi, that's my favourite show, how did you know?"

She hugged him, and whispered in his ear "I love you Lexi..," he hugged her back so tightly that she almost couldn't breath but she felt so comfortable in his arms, it felt so right. She whispered into his ear a taster of things to come later tonight when they were alone. When she pulled back, she could see the raw hunger in his eyes, and smiled, catlike before walking through into the apartment, closing the door between them.

She didn't have long to wait, as soon as he could free himself from work, he came through and carried her through to the bedroom. She took control then, much as she had done when she had him at her mercy that first night, when she had made him lie down and not touch her, but this time, she took the pace a lot slower until she could see that he was having difficulty controlling himself.

The club would have to manage without them tonight, neither of them wanted to dress up and go downstairs. Alexei arranged for a meal to be sent up from the kitchens and then they were left alone, Saf knew by the reaction of the guy with their meal that the staff knew why Alexei wasn't going down to the club tonight, and saw by their expression that they were envious.
