Jordan waited for Vince to sit down. This was her second interview of the day. Her first was Christa, who was an older woman, rather crazy to be exact, but seemed to care about detail. She had been third on Gray's list. Vince was first.

"Vince, it says here on your resume, that you've worked in a number of bookstores already, what makes you think you'll be good for this bookstore?"

Vince smiled, "Well, the bookstores I've worked at are fairly prominent, larger changes, so I know my books, but I crave the small, individual feeling that they lacked. This store is much smaller, and will give me the opportunity to deal with customers on a more one on one basis."

She nodded, good answer, yet he seemed a little overbearing. She continued the interview, asking him various questions, trying to see into his personality. Personally, she thought the guy was kissing butt big time; making her very uneasy, wondering what he was up to. This worried her, considering she just met the guy.

Thirty minutes later Jordan breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Vince walk out the door. Ryan noticed her reaction and commented, "Not much of a guy? Sure dressed for success he was."

Jordan smiled and nodded. She hadn't worked a whole lot with Ryan. Every time he seemed to be working, she wasn't there. He was nice enough though, great with the customers, which was all she wanted. Business had certainly picked up in the past few weeks, something that she was happy about. As much as she could say she didn't know a damn thing about running a business, she was beginning to like it. It was feeling more and morewellright. She still had her doubts though, but as far as she could tell, the doubts would never go away. Only through the off chance she could walk away from the SIA and Section forever, but she knew that was never going to happen.

She turned around, heading back to the office, running her finger along one of the shelves. She looked are her finger, geezthe place needed to be dusted again. But that would have to wait until later, she need to get going to Edison, she was really behind on her training. She needed to put in some major hours.

Jordan's place
22.03 hrs

Jordan sat in the darkened room, hands circling the warm teacup. Saf had left about 30 minutes ago. It was nice to have someone other than herself to cook for. Mind you, wasn't much of a dinner since she needed to go grocery shopping. Sitting in the crisper in the bottom of her fridge was broccoli and spinach past its prime. As much as she loved to eat them, they always seemed to go bad on her.

Saf had somewhat surprised her with the news of the drug testing. Paige had mentioned to her earlier today that Saf had talked with her and that she seemed more her old self, and that she didn't blame Alpha for what they did to Alexei, for which she was happy about. Her doubts could be pushed aside now; she would no longer have to worry about Saf holding a grudge.

All in all, she was glad Saf came over. She still couldn't believe what Maddy had done, but given Madeline's mind and strive for the top...it was to be expected. Made her ponder the possibility that she was also a lab rat and didn't know it. That thought scared her because she liked being in control of her life.

She was back at the bookstore. It was becoming to feel more like her home than her house. She had hired Christa, who was proving more difficult to train than she had thought. After working with her for 5 days now, she was just grasping the operation of the cash register. Even though, she knew she had made a good choice, Christa was caring and asked about her day, and in return told her stories of her cat and dog and how they slept together on her bed each night.

After saying hello to Christa and Alyssa, she made her way to the backroom, wanting to hang up her coat.

"Jordan," Alyssa called after her. She turned back and saw Alyssa walking towards her.
"Yes?"
"There was a big, tall guy in here yesterday, asking a bunch of questions about the shop."
"Oh really?" she replied, wondering who this man was.
"Ya, was examining things, spent a good hour in here. Asking about everything, the books, and the tea. Was also asking about you, if you were a good boss and such. He seemed pretty interested in ordering a few books, but said he wanted to talk to you personally, but he wouldn't leave his name. He was pretty cute to be honest, muscular and had the long hair, almost looked like Triple H, you know, the wrestler?"

She laughed at the comment, but alarms where going off in her head. She knew exactly who stopped by. "Alyssa, you and the guys. Did he say when he'd be back?" she replied lightly, letting Alyssa know she wasn't concerned about this guy.

"Well, you know medoes he sound familiar?" Alyssa asked.Jordan shook her head, "Nope, but I got a phone call awhile back about a book dealer, so perhaps that was him. Did he have an accent?"

"Nope."
"Okay, that narrows it down a bitthanks for letting me know."
"Alyssa?" called Christa. Jordan looked over to see Christa, who was serving a customer. "I can't remember this discount code."

Alyssa smiled at Jordan before heading back up to the front. Jordan watched for a moment, glad that Christa had interrupted. She closed her office door, anxiety over taking her. What the hell was Joshua doing here? She wasn't part of Section any longer, so why bother her. Sure she had seen him at briefings, but he had never paid any attention to her then, so why now? She didn't have an answer to that. Apparently this life of hers that had been served to her on a golden platter was molding.
