CF: CT-1802A-08 April 19, 2008 (Saturday) The Armory, Perth Amboy 1905 hrs Jordan glanced around the restaurant while the waiter was pouring the wine. Tommy was making some comments about the year on it, but she didn't pay attention. Outside the window was a fiery sunset reflected from the water of the bay. Much like the spectacular view, the restaurant itself was pretty classy. It was fairly large, but had a quiet atmosphere with romantic lighting. In the center was a circular bar complete with a black piano, soft tones of Chopin floated around the room. Taking a sip of the wine that was placed before her, she realized that Tommy was talking to her. "and I pulled the chute string at the last possible moment, it was amazing. Landed pretty hard, twisted an ankle actually. Wanna go sometime?" Jordan looked at him; he had to be talking about skydiving. "Hun, got a slight problem, I'm a little scared of heights. I'll do anything but jump out of a moving plane at god knows how many feetnope, not for me." Tommy smiled, "Well, then I suppose we'll stick to the mountain biking then?" "You'd better believe it. Ahhhere's comes our food." A waiter, dressed in black, put the steaming plates down in front of them. Tommy had insisted that he do the ordering, he had actually whispered the order to the waiter so she wouldn't her. He was too cute. Before her on a white plate with gold trim sat a grilled steak, surrounded by an assortment of vegetables, carrots, peas, and corn, as well as mashed potatoes. She gazed up at Tommy who was watching her, "It looks delicious." After taking a few bites of the vegetables, she commented, "You have great taste." He merely smiled in return, as his mouth was full. Jordan cut into her steak to find it rare. Her stomach turned at the thought of eating it. No rare for her, only well done thank you. Knowing it would be rude to not eat it, she cut off a piece and took a tentative bite and barely managed to keep from gagging. Tommy on the other hand appeared to be very much enjoying his dinner. Tommy finished before her and took the liberty of pouring some more wine for them. When she finally finished, dessert came, to which was also a mystery to her. It was Tiramisu, her favorite. Finished she sat back, full and happy. Tommy was just about finished his dessert. Listening to the music she noted that the pianist ended the song he was playing, one which she didn't know, and started `Wonderful World' by Nat King Cole. Tommy slid out of his chair and pulled her up and closer to the piano. She didn't realize what he was doing until he stopped. "Tommy, no." she whispered. "Yes Holly, we are." Her resistance already growing weaker she replied, "No one else is dancing, there isn't even a proper dancing floor." Tommy didn't say anything, but grabbed her hands and started moving to the music. Giving in, she followed his motions and leaned closer to him. Sure he was crazy, but damn, what a romancer. Jordan could feel all the eyes in the restaurant watching, but she closed her eyes and put her head on Tommy's shoulders. After the dance, Tommy led her back to their table. She felt very wanted, but she cautioned herself, knowing full well what he was trying to do. He paid the hefty bill, but felt somewhat guilty at having him pay since none of this was real. Their whole relationship was a sham, but only did she know that. Walking out into the darkness, Tommy hugged her close. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him deeply. Pulling back, she said, "Thank you for dinner, it was amazing." Tom smiled down at her, "You're welcome. Have I told you that you look amazing tonight?" Jordan nodded; he had, three times already in fact. She was wearing a knee length blue shear dress that had a low V-neck. "You have, and I'm amazed you even noticed. Well, sure I may look great, but smell great? That's a whole different story. Do you know how many showers I took to get the fish smell that's been following me for days down to a minimum?" Tommy laughed whole heartily, "Holly, I could care less what you smelt like and you should know that I'm used to it. You're amazing no matter how you smell." She only nodded, appearing bashful, while wondering what charm school he went to. They walked towards the pier that extended out into the water. The wind tussled their hair and Jordan could smell the salty sea air. It was a smell she liked. April 20, 2008 Tommy's Apartment 0445 hrs Jordan stared out of the window, looking into the semi-blackness, which looked like she felt. Shivering, she wrapped the comforter around her, questioning why she did what she did. Perhaps it was the wine's potency, or maybe it was her own need. She had wanted it as much as Tommy had. Even so, doubt filled her mind, would he drop her now that he had what he wanted, or would he come back for more? She couldn't lose her hold on him, not yet anyways; Gray and Rebecca would definitely do her off for sure because of her failure. Glancing over at Tommy, who was sprawled across the bed deeply sleeping, she wondered if it might have the opposite effect and bring new found closeness into their so called relationship. She hated him, wanted to wring his little neck, what an ass. However, she sat down on the bed, ruffling his hair and woke him up. He looked at her sleepily through one eye. "Baby, I know it's Sunday and all, but I gotta get going. I have to start writing up my internship report. I got the first half due on Monday." Some report, she had a date with Sara instead, doing a little fishing per say. Tommy opened his arms, grabbing her into a hug and making her to lie down besides him. They stayed like that for about 15 minutes before she got impatient and started getting dressed. Tommy, now more awake, protested, "You've got plenty of time for that paper, why not wait a few more hours. I'll help keep your mind of it." He smiled slyly. Jordan looked at him, smiling, almost laughing at him, anything to get her to stay. "Sorry baby, it's better that I go now, get it done sooner, and if I get it done at a reasonable time, I'll give you a call." He nodded, accepting the fact that she was leaving. "Do you need a ride?" "No, I already called a cab. And don't worry about getting up, I can let myself out." He nodded again, already falling back asleep. She kissed him on the forehead and walked out of the apartment, down to the waiting cab. She was happy to get away, but still tired from the activities she had engaged in that night. Not yet awake, she waited for Sara, who had yet to arrive, but she didn't have to wait long for her. They got down to the boat and out in the water in no time flat. The fish were biting, but not madly, at a perfect rate she would call it. They didn't get too many fish, three in fact, all of which Sara pressed Jordan to take, complaining she had a freezer full of them at home and didn't want to see anymore added to the collection. She took them, thinking that she could hold off on the grocery shopping for a few more days. After saying goodbye to Sara, making her promise to come see her at the bookstore, Jordan left. After parking her car, she went inside, turning off the alarm. Looking around she realized that she had yet to have alpha over at her place. She'd been to Paige's and Sara's, but they hadn't seen her place yet. Baz, well, no one had seen Baz's place. Walking over to the telephone, which was kept besides her calendar, displaying the current mountain of the month, this one displayed a place called Moraine Lake, it was picturesque, she wished she was there, so peaceful and calm and there would be nothing to worry about there. What a thoughanyhow, back to dinner planes. Looking at the calendar, she tentatively set it for the 25th. She would have to talk to Paige to see if they could both get the day off work. She then left messages on everyone's machine. Nobody was home, or not answering the phone. Nowwhat to cook? Return |
