Jordan watched the guards chasing them as the plane picked up speed, leaving them behind. `Fools' she thought. `Their own fault if they get
themselves
shot.' And shot they did thanks to the good shots of Jaime and Paige. She smirked, listening to Paige. "Hey guys, I want to thank you for flying SIA express, please fasten your seat belts because we're not sure if the pilots know what they're doing. Please keep your trays in the upright position and don't drink the water unless it's bottled." Staring at the seat in front of her, she saw no trays. Whatever. "We don't have trays." Bella retorted in a serious voice. Jordan grinned more, these guys, just so damn crazy at times. Not unlike herself though. She stretched her legs out in front of her, using the aisle because there wasn't enough room otherwise. She knew she should sleep, but that wasn't going to happen yet. She was still too wond up. She blew her hair out of her eyes and looked over at Saf. Saf had her eyes closed, but was squirming around in her seat trying to get comfortable. She opened her eyes and looked at her. "I hate these seats," Saf told her. Jordan laughed, "No kidding. I'm sure if we wait a couple hours until we are really tired, I mean REALLY tired, we'll drop off like babies." Saf chuckled, "Good plan, but I don't know about the sleeping like babies bit. Haven't done that in years and I don't see it happening anytime in the near future. Shove over and I'll tell you why." Safe House 1 Jordy sat listening to Gray talk. She really hated these debriefs, why the hell they had to pick apart every single step they took was beyond heruseless waste of time. She sank back into her chair and massaged her temples. The lack of sleep was starting to get to her. Paige was sat besides her had the right idea, a big steaming mug of coffee. She was tempted to grab the mug out of Paige's hands and take a gulp, but she resisted. Later she promised herself. Gray stopped talking. She was relieved, they could go now, but then Wellington got up. He looked like he had something important to say. All she knew was that he'd better make it quick. She couldn't last much longer. She listened to him half-heartedly. He was apparently filling them in on their little surprise group they met up with in Russia. They were the Russian equivalent of themselves. But it was the same old crap of need to know information and they certainly did not need to know. She would've liked to know more about them, but that was maybe for another day. Finally Wellington stopped yammering and they were free to go...well almost, they still had to hang around to shadow Baz's meet later. She made a b-line for the coffee where Baz and Brian stood. "Hey boys! Brian, look at your hair!" she spoke out to them. Brian grinned, running his hands through his now purple hair with blue tips. "You look just like twins." "Ya, that was sorta the plan." Baz said. She laughed, "Has Paige seen it yet?" "Not yet, but she's gonna love it." She laughed, "Of course she will" Saf who was standing watching them laughed. "What's so funny?" Baz asked. "Oh nothingwell, you two. You're just great." Saf replied. "Of course we are. We're the purple headed twins, ain't that right Brian?" "You betcha." Brian replied. Jordan sipped her coffee in the silence, watching Joshua on the other side of the room. Bastard. Just seeing him made her blood boil. What he did to all of them, but honestly did she expect anything different? Nonot from him and not from Section, that's for sure. She saw Paige emerge from the other room and head straight for them. "What the hell do you call that?" she directed towards Baz. Jordan giggled along with Saf. Baz looked at them and then looked back at Paige. "You're on your own with this one," she said to Baz, pulling Saf away with her. "What a goof eh?" Saf laughed, "Ya, Paige is pissed." "Yep. Well, sorry to ditch you like this, but I've got a couple phone calls I need to make, check up on the bookstore and all." "No worries Jordy, I'll catch up with ya later." Saf replied. "Sure," she replied, taking out her cell but she was gonna need two hands. She took another sip of her coffee while she headed downstairs to the other lounge. When she entered she was glad to see no one was there. She called her home phone and keyed in the password so she could listen to her messages. There was one from Carol, who said that things were fine at the store and that a huge order had come in, but they got it all priced and put away. She took another sip of coffeegeezshe shouldn't be drinking this stuff now if she wanted to get some sleep before they headed out later. Oh well, she'd sleep later then. The second message came up, but it was only another message from Carol. But wait a minute, didn't she just say Vanessa. Jordan replayed the message, listening more closely. "Hi Jordan, Carol here. A lady named Vanessa was in here asking for you today. She didn't say why, but I guess she didn't know you were away because she was pretty surprised when I told her. She said you had her number though, so just to call her when you get back." Jordan put down her coffee and sat on her hands to stop them from shaking. She really needed to do something about this. If she didn't tell Gray and Rebecca and then they found out by chance, she'd be a goner, deported right back to Section. She couldn't deal with this now though. Latershe'd think more about it later. She was suddenly very sleepy and she stretched out on the couch. "Hey" A voice sounded into the darkness of her mind. She opened her eyes and saw Baz sitting right by her head. "hi, so bored you had to wake me up? I was having a good dream!" "Nah, not bored, you were snoring." "No I wasn't!" "Okay, no you weren't, but you were talking in your sleep." "I was? What was I saying?" she asked Baz, hopefully nothing incriminating. "I couldn't make much of it, but you mentioned the name Vanessa and you said no a lot." "HmmI really gotta work on that. I don't think I've ever talked in my sleep before." "No, can't say you have. This Vanessa chick been bothering you?" She looked at Baz, she could tell him, tell him everything about Vanessa. He was right there, ready and waiting to talk as always. "Vanessano she's just someone from my past that's all." "Okay, but if she starts giving you anymore trouble in those dreams of yours, you just tell her I'm gonna kick her ass." She laughed, "Baz, you crack me up, but I will certainly do that. Thanks" "Hey, no problemo, that's what I'm here for." "Don't you have to leave soon?" "Ya, I'm on my way out now. Gray said you guys will be leaving in 30." "Okay, we'll get going. We'll all catch up with you in a bit." "Later Jordy," Baz replied walking out the door and giving her a final wave. She rose and grabbed her now cold coffee, surprised at how awake she now felt. Time to get ready. She left the lounge and headed towards the locker room. She spotted spotted Saf just before she left the lounge. Strange Baz didn't wake her before he left as well. She reached over and tapped Saf on the shoulder. "Time to get ready." Saf mumbled something about 5 more minutes. "No come on, we're leaving in 30 minutes." Saf opened her eyes, "Okay okayI'm coming. I'll be there in a sec." "Okay, if you're not though, I'm coming back to drag your ass into that locker room," she replied as she left. When she entered the locker room she saw Paige and Joshua. "Sleep does a body good," she called out to them as she got closer to them. Be nice she vowed to herself. "And here I thought that was milk," Paige shot back. "That's good, but not so. They've been lying to you about that," she replied, smiling broadly. Paige nodded her head and grinned as she looked to Joshua. "I hear they've been lying a lot." Then she winked at Joshua. "Baz left already, so we're going out in 30 minutes," she said to Paige, ignoring Joshua. "He left already?" Paige asked. "Ya," she said as she pulled at her black clothes in her locker. "He didn't even say goodbye," Paige scowled. "You know him. Love 'em and leave 'em," she answered grinning. "That would be Baz," Paige grinned. "Yep, um, shower?" she said looking to Joshua, hoping he'd take the hint to leave. And thankfully he did. "I'll meet you in the ready room," Paige said following Joshua's lead. She nodded, "Simon's coming with us." "Alright, and Saf?" "She should be coming soon. She was a little sleepy, took some coaxing to get her up." Paige laughed, "she's not a night person." "Who is?" she replied before heading to the shower. Safehouse 1 Garage Jordan waited for everyone to close the doors before she pulled out of the lot. She glanced into her mirrors and saw Bella emerged waving at her to stop. She rolled down the window to ask what was up, but Bella yelled, "I'm coming with you guys." "Hop in then and make it snappy," she replied. She watched as Bella jumped in and then she began moving again. She paused at the gate waiting for the traffic to go by. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Bella unlacing her boots, "You planning on walking around with no boots on?" she called back. The others laughed and Bella replied, "Nah, but this not good mission wear," pulling at her green colored sweater. "I get ya," she replied and turned her attention back to the road and seeing there was no cars coming she pulled out into the lane. Return |
