June 13, 2008 Once the water had washed the grime of the last few mission away she felt fresh, new, and strong. She wasn't tired from the missions anymore. She thought of calling into office, but the thought of dealing with Lucille just now made he tired again. She stretched feeling the perfect fit of the leather pants and vest she had put on. She had dressed in the appropriate colour for what was going on back at the safe houseso she figure she might as well head back there and see if she could do anything. She rode her bike this time, neglecting to put her helmet on, not really caring if she was spotted. She wanted to feel the freedom the bike gave her in full. After parking the bike she went into the building and immediately felt the hush that had settled over the place. It was the atmosphere you expected to feel when someone had died. She sighed and tried not to let her own energy interrupt on the atmosphere, people would not appreciate that. She wandered towards the lounge when she saw Saf come out quickly and then take off towards a beckoning Rebecca. She looked over her shoulder at them disappearing as she passed into the lounge and found Jordy sitting. "How you doing?" She asked easily as she sat down next to the woman. Her question had been direct but not challenging. "Surviving. Yourself?" The question was redundant really, Bella hadn't known the man but it was a force of habit. "Feeling better. Look I'm sorry about your friend. That really sucked." She meant it. It had totally sucked what had happened to him, he seemed young and alive and no one should die when there was that much life in them. Jordy didn't respond straight away, only nodded a little. After a few minute she spoke quietly. "Thank you for the picture, it was nice." Bella didn't say anything, she wasn't good at compliments. "So what were you up to? See anything interesting outside?" She smirked, "Nah, not really. Just outside. Got a few honks though as I weaved in and out of traffic." Jordan laughed and then after a moment or two she continued. "So, I know you were in Section and all before here, but what about before that?" Bella didn't reply right away Jordy continued, "you can tell me to shut it anytime, I'm just curious. I know the past can be painful" Sighing Bella decided what to tell and what not to before she continued. "I was a member of the IRA, smuggling mostly, people, guns, other weapons. The entire team was ratted out by someone from the inside." She was careful not to embellish any more on who that person had been. "Got into that because I saw my parents gunned down at the diner table by the English. Apparently my father was leader in the IRA and my mother helped them out too. It seemed the right thing to do, to take up their cause. Basically, I think I was born to this life." There was a long silence. Bella realised she might actually be one of the only members of Alpha that loved both her jobs, and knew that she was born to do what she did. "Well I got to Section by killing some government agents. I belonged to this groupwe were against the government, like most college students are. They lack funds, so they feel oppressed. Anyhow, we ticked the government off pretty good cuz we were always breaking into their buildings and copying filesyou know how it is. They finally caught us and section caught me." Bella nodded. "Do you like the life?" Return |
