WELCOME

This layout was long over due and I was too busy working this summer to pay off this year's tuition to do any web designs. Luckily my workplace has hired more people and now I have time off to do some things for myself. This layout is inspired by this picture of Sakura that I found on someone's website. Since it was originally had a pink tint to it, I decided to make it a mixture of my favourite colours, purple and blue. This website is now a part of my newly created collective, which I call "Digital Fetish". The layout of this is like 35% done since I don't have a clue as to what it will look like. I want this to look really well done, so don't expect anything fancy when you reach this website, since the one you will see will be the temporary one.

Introduction to Card Captor Sakura
Sakura is your average elementary school girl going about her daily activities, when one day she goes downstairs to her basement and finds this red and gold book. She opens the book and it reveals a deck of cards. She lifts the first card and says it's name, WINDY! Suddenly a symbol flashes below her and the card is activated. A gust of wind blows the cards in all directions and disappears into the world. A tiny bear with wings appears and announces that he is Kero, the Guardian of the Clow cards. He realizes that he fell asleep while on duty and that Sakura has just released them. He dubs Sakura as card captor and soon her mission is to capture all the cards before they cause havoc on earth.
Another character shows up and reveals that he is a card captor as well. His name is Syaoran and he is very competitive when collecting Clow cards. He believes that Sakura has no business in this affair and tries to collect the cards before she does. Syaoran also has a device shaped like a board with signs written on top, which can pinpoint the location of a Clow card nearby. What Syaoran doesn't realize is that he needs Sakura to seal the card, so therefore they must work as a team to seal all the cards.

What's the difference between CCS and CC?
Well first of all, CCS is the original anime series in Japanese while CC is the North American release of the same episodes, but removal of unwanted footage/episodes (which really meant removal "suggestive" themes that they did not wanted children exposed to). In order for the show to be liked by all kids (both boys and girls), they had to make the series show some equality between Sakura and Syaoran. So they did this by removing some episodes or releasing it in a different order and also renamed the series Cardcaptors. So then it now appears that Li is a main character in the first season as well as Sakura, even though dedicated watchers know that this whole series is based on just Sakura's life.

In CC, when Sakura has claimed all the cards and have to change them into "Star" cards, they are orginally called Sakura Cards in the Japanese version. The chants for Sakura and Syaoran are (of course!) different than the original. In my opinion, the CC version is ridiculous!

The NA version downplays some drama going on between a few of the characters. First is Touya/Tory and Kaho/Ms.Mackenzie. In the episode of the capture of the Return card, Sakura finds out that her brother and her teacher actually had a relationship. The relationship ended when her teacher had to go to England to study (or so she says) and before she leaves she tells him that they were not destined to be with each other because he would eventually find another love. This other love, as we find out later on in season 2, is Yukito/Julian! Also at one point Syaoran has "feelings" for Yukito/Julian and blushes whenever he sees him, but we find out that it's because he's attracted to the Power of the Moon. To find out more about the differences for each character, please refer to the character's profile.

What are Clow Cards/Sakura Cards?
The Clow cards were created by a powerful sorcerer names Clow Reed. Each card has it's own individual power and can be activated by calling it's name. Some of the cards are not dangerous and they can be playful as well, but that is not always the case. When Sakura finally captured all the cards with her own magic, they would not work until she created her own spell to turn them into Sakura cards. If she just left them as Clow cards, that specific card would cease to exist. As the show goes on, the cards reveal that they are not just ordinary cards, but that they also have so emotions/feelings. They show this by obeying Sakura and protecting her. In one episode they all come out of her deck and circled around her, as if they were asking if she was okay. The Clow cards have a special marking on their back which is the symbol made by Clow Reed. When the cards are transformed into Sakura cards, there is a different symbol and also the cards are pink (ew!)

Click Clow card name to view photos. This is arranged by order in which they appeared, the exception of the last 3/ I'm not 100% sure when they appeared, but I know that we see the arrow in the first movie.

These are special cards from the CCS Series and movies. The 'Unnamed' card appeared to Sakura at the last episode and basically left all CCS hanging as to what this card really meant. Many people assumed that it was the Love card since it appeared when she was thinking of Syaoran, but we find out it was used as a balancing force in the second movie.
