This is my Mawmaw Lois Lillian Gentry. She was the most wonderful women I have ever known. She trusted everyone that crossed her path. It did not matter what you looked like, or what family you came from. She would always welcome you into her heart with open arms. If you were in need she would do whatever she could to help. I can see now that my mom is alot like her as well. I can remember Mawmaw always cooking something. She made the best apple, peach, and chocolate turnovers. Mawmaw and my Aunt Inie would spend lots of time canning foods. They would can and put up tomatoes, pickels, apple, pears, figs, jelly, and all sorts of other things. I use to love going over there and helping her peel apples from the big washtub outside. We would spend hours on the porch swing talking and telling stories. Mawmaw loved to sing songs, and old hymns. The ones that I remember most are, "Precious Memories", "Soldier's Sweetheart", and "Cowboy Jack". Mawmaw always made a big fuss over me. We spent so much time together. I would go spend the night with her, and we would lay down and talk until we fell asleep. Usually Aunt Inie would get up and start washing dishes about that time. Then Mawmaw would get up and fuss at Aunt Inie for rattlin the dishes so late at night. Even though it was only about eight pm. Mawmaw and Aunt Inie lived together there whole lives, and fought all the live long days. However if they were apart for more than two days they were miserable. Now Mawmaw always told me I was her favorite, and not to tell anyone else. I think she told all the grandkids that though. But I still like to think I had something extra special with her. She was a very special women, and I miss her so bad it hurts to even write this. She was very faithful to her church, and her church was faithful to her. She worked hard all of her life for her family, and she made lifelong friends where ever she went. Not one single day goes by that I dont think of her. She will forever be locked in my heart...
