Human mind is very resistant to change. Because of this reason, people generally dislike travel. But my Dad's transferable job and love for travel took us places. Though I want to write about all these places that I visited and my experiences, because of my time constraint I have to take my own sweet time to finish them so at present 99% of them are going to be links. I wrote Islands in the sun for the India travelog competition, when that got published, I got into the spirit of writing travelogs. So you can see more of writing as time goes by, but now you will have to be satisfied with these links


I did not know where to start and which order to follow so I am going to put the Indian states in alphabetical order. NOTE: Each time a place appears, the link it points to will be different. This is just to make things easier for you and provides as many links as possible with a lot of information

Distance chart for places in India

Andaman & Nicobar Islands This is the most beautiful place on earth.(according to me). I've been there once and wouldn't mind going there any number of times. Islands in the sun (published version) More info on Andamans

Andhra Pradesh Everytime we travel to Bombay from Madras or vice versa we end up crossing this state. But I've stayed in this state for about six months I also learnt to speak a bit of Telugu and understand this language too, though not much. I've been to the following places in this state : Hyderabad Tirupathi The places that I wish to see in this state : Rajahmundry Vishakapatnam




Arunachal Pradesh I haven't heard much about this place. But would love to go there.

Assam I would love to spend some time in Guwahati. The last time I went there I was just transiting through the place

Bihar I just happened to cross this state while I was travelling to Calcutta from Bombay by road. All I can say that the roads here were bad. At least at that particular time. I have friends in Patna and Jamshedpur and heard that those places are good.

Daman & Diu I missed going to Daman twice. Heard it is very nice.

Delhi After years of planning and cancelling I did manage to go to Delhi in November 1996. I fell in love with this place. I don't know if not seeing much of Old Delhi had something to do with it.

Goa Goa is one of the most beautiful places in India with its beautiful beaches and greenery. I've gone to Goa thrice and would love to go there again.

Gujarat I was working in Baroda in Gujarat. Places I've seen in this state are : Baroda Bharauch Ahmedabad Gandhinagar Anand Places I would want to see in this state : Gandhidham Rajkot

Haryana I crossed this state while I was travelling from Delhi to Chandigarh by road.


Himachal Pradesh Places I've seen in this state : Shimla Kulu & Manali Places I would want to see in this state : Dalhousie

Jammu and Kashmir I would give anything to see this place. I wish there was peace here and I could go and see it. But as of now, I'll have to wait. Places I would want to see in this state : Srinagar Gulmarg Leh

Karnataka This is another state that we keep crossing when we travel down south to and from Bombay. Places I've seen in this state : Bangalore Mysore Haliabedu Belur Mangalore Udupi

Kerala I lived in this state for four full years. And I've travelled a lot here too. Places I've seen in this state : Cochin Trivandrum Allepy Chalakudy (Athirampalli falls) Kalady, Guruvayur Munnar Thekkady

Lakshadweep Islands One of my room mates in St.Teresas college hostel was from Kavaratti. From what she said and from what I've read about this place I beleive it must be very beautiful.

Madhya Pradesh Again, this is one more state which I've crossed while I travelled from Bombay to Calcutta. Good roads.

Maharashtra I was born in this state. So I have a special affection for this place. Places I've seen in this state : Bombay Lonavla Pune Nasik Nagpur

Manipur I've never been there.

Meghalaya One more state I know nothing about

Mizoram I've never been here too.

Nagaland One more state in the extreme east that I know nothing about.

Orissa All I can say about this place is that the roads were very bad, infact it was roads in between speed breakers. Places I've seen in this state : Sambalpur Bhubaneshwar Konark Puri Places I want to see in this state : Paradwip Raurkela

Pondichery I've missed this place. It is supposed to be a very beautiful place with beautiful beaches.

Punjab Lovely place. Places I've seen in this state : Chandigarh Places I want to see in this state : Amritsar

Rajasthan I've travelled through this state when I went to Delhi from Bombay. I haven't seen anything much here. The palaces here are supposed to be really wonderful Places I want to see in this state : Jaisalmer Jaipur Udaipur Bikaner Jodhpur

Sikkim I spent a few days in Gangtok and was amazed at the beauty of this place!

Tamil Nadu I spent 17 years of my life in this state. So I need not say how much I would have travelled here. Places I've seen in this state : Madras Tiruchirapalli Madurai Tirunelveli Kanyakumari Coimbatore Salem Erode Ootacamund Kodaikanal Yercaud Palani Tanjore Tuticorin Vailankanni Nagore and more................ Tripura I haven't gone here either

West Bengal Places I've been to in this state : Calcutta Darjeeling Kalimpong Places I want to see in this state : Haldia

After I came to Dublin, I have travelled throughout Ireland. I have travelled all over UK. I've seen a bit of Wales , Scotland and Britain. I spent more time in London , Leeds and Blackpool. I've also been to Northern Ireland.

	In the past few of years have been to several countries in Europe and also to Singapore, Malaysia, Bahrain and Dubai. In Europe I've been to Germany Swtizerland Austria France Spain Belgium Luxembourg Netherlands Sweden Norway Denmark Hungary
