My Poem's
"Unlike the Others"
I try to tell myself
Each and everyday
That you really care
That you are unlike the others.

I try to forget the past
With everyone who hurt me
And reassure myself
That you are unlike the others.

I try to tell myself
That when you say, "I love you"
You actually mean it
That you are unlike the others.

I try to forget my past
With those who left me
and reassure myself
That you are unlike the others.

I know in my heart
That you won't hurt me
or leave me
For the simple reason
You are unlike the others.
God called  you home
You never said you were leaving
You never said "Good bye"
You were gone before we knew it
and only God knows why.
A million times I've needed you
A million times I've cried
If love could have saved you
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
I my heart I have a place
No one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you
But you don't go alone
For a part of me went with you
The day God called you home.
Written for my Mom
2/1/1995
As we stand
Gazing into each others eyes
Memories flash through our minds
Times when we were as one
When nothing else in the world
Seemed to matter
As long as we were together
But that was yesterday
Things are different today
You have your life
While I have mine.

At times I think of you
And wonder if you ever think of me
My mind wanders
Back to when we were one
Remember all those starry nights
And the way you use to hold me tight?

Yesterday is over
It is time to face the future
We've went our seperate ways
Because we are no longer one.
