THIS WEEK'S LESSON:
The Era of Antiquity
This week we are learning about the
Era of Antiquity and the philosophers
that were a part of it.  The three
philosopher's were Socrates,
Plato, and Aristotle.  Let's Begin.

Socrates was rationalist and was
identified by the idea of rationalism.
This was true for Plato as well, but
back to Socrates.

Socrates felt it was necessary to
establish a solid foundation for our
knowledge.  He believed that, that
foundation laid in the man's
reason.

Plato, as I have said, was a rationalist.  This   is not really a shock because he  was also a   student of Socrates.
Plato had his own phili-  sophical
project and it was the relationship
between what is eternal and imutable.

Plato's entire philosophy was based
around   ideas, and how everything
flowed.  He used    the world of ideas
to explain things in nature   and life.

Aristotle was a  pupil of Plato,  but he    was not a rationalsit.  He was  an
empiricists.  The empiricists believed
in empricism, or the belief in senses.
Aristotle's project was the study of         nature.
