I Have Learned.....

I have learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I have learned that the people who are heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I have learned that money is a lousy way to keep score.
I have learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and still have a great time.
I have learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you while you are down are the ones to help you get back up.
I have learned that sometimes when I am angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I have learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over long distances. The same goes for true love.
I have learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean that they don't love you with all they have. I have learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you have learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you have celebrated. I have learned that no matter how good a friend is, they are going to hurt you every once in a while, and you must forgive them for that. I have learned that sometimes it isn't always good enought to be forgiven by others, Sometimes you must learn to forgive yourself. I have learned that no matter how badly your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I have learned that our backgrounds and circumstances may influence who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. I have learned that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue doesn't mean they do love each other. I have learned that we don't have to change friends as long as we understand that friends change. I have learned that we shouldn't be so eager to learn a secret, it may change our lives forever. I have learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different. I have learned that life can be changed in a matter of hours by people we don't even know. I have learned that even when you think you have nothing left to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help them. I have learned that credentials on the wall don't make you a decent human being.��

Maybe I have learned too much, but the one lesson that sticks out most in my mind is that I have learned that the people you care about most in life can be taken from you all too soon.
