Dear Sayas and Colleagues,
Early this morning, Ko Maurice woke
me up and said sadly that his
beloved Saya had passed away, and that he would forward
me an email for
further distribution.
I should have simply done that but
I wanted to add an eulogy.
That's when Murphy's Law came in.
I could not log on to the Internet.
I had to reinstall my DSL
client. In a hurry to leave for work on time, I committed
a cardinal
sin -- sending off that e-mail without double checking
its contents.
As I arrived at my office, an e-mail
came in from Ko Thet Win that
I had made a mistake. The setup at my office would not
allow
mass-mailing, so I replied to Ko Thet Win what had happened
and cc'ed
it to Maurice.
During the course of the day, I received
"corrections" (or "asking
to verify the contradiction") from several Sayas and
alums: Saya Dr.
Aung Soe, Saya Allen Htay, Ko Daniel Tint Lwin, Ko Myat
Htoo, ...
When I got back home, one of my CD-ROM
drives was behaving badly;
the CD holder won't go back in smoothly and would not
allow the system
to boot. What a day!
Finally, after praying and asking for
forgiveness from Saya Dr. Tin
Hlaing, the computer system returned to normal. And here
I am
mass-mailing to undo the confusion that I might have
caused.
Saya is alive and well. It was Sayagadaw!

That's all for now.
