What is love? Is it something tangible, something you can touch, or is it a feeling, an emotion that can be the basis of the lives we live. Love is to care for a person so deeply that as long as the object of your affection is in your existence, the day could never conclude with turmoil. Love is wanted greedily and once it is obtained, its not easily let go. The power of this idea, even though it may be positive, can have negative outcomes as well. It is so strong and powerful that it alone can lead us to our destiny or destruction.

The everlasting power of love was once experienced personally. I love my mother, father, family, and friends, but this kind of love was experienced for the first time. I was new to it and as exciting as the feeling was, it was equivalently scary. After interacting and conversing for a short period of time, love occurred from the compassionate words spoken during those endless nights. It was the love I felt when I was with him. He was all I ever wanted from life at the time- feeling like Cinderella and hoping that 12:00 time would never come up. It was like my fairy tale life brought endless amounts of joy and happiness, too much to handle. I wanted the love, yearned for it, but that was unavoidable since the deep, enticing force was uncontrollable. For this feeling, this idea, this state of mind, my grades dropped, lies and dishonesty overcame me, helping me to injure everyone whom I cared for. The feeling was too good to be true, however it was also too difficult to control. It was like something I never assumed would happen to me in my wildest dreams was actually happening, but it was heading for disaster and I could already feel the burn. I tried getting out, but it wasnt possible because my heart wasnt ready to move on. I continue to believe that once you have surpassed the hard times, if its a matter of true love, they would always haunt you; its impossible to let go if you love the person so much but sometimes thats the only way. As hard the situation was, I left the scenario, but my heart and soul stayed put, permanently, leaving a scar in my broken heart.

As previously stated, love is a state of mind that can lead us to our destiny. If not controlled, it can bring about calamity, but if properly understood and truly felt, it can be experienced joyously. Its strength can be our weakness, and I got to undergo that first-hand. This experience, however, helped me to understand both sides of the game and also allowed me to transform my assumed and underdeveloped theories from the past.
