| This program is meant as an educational aid for school going children between the ages of 6 and 10. It presents random problems in mental arithmetic and keeps a score of the session. The problems are presented in 4 levels of difficulty. To keep things fun, this program makes extensive use of animated characters using the Microsoft Agent technology. The Agent gives visual and audio prompts and feedbacks. The Agent technology also allows this program to accept voice responses! Yes, instead of typing the answer, just speak it. Remember to hit the ScrollLock key to put the Agent into listening mode. |

InstallationDownload the installation files in zip format from here, unzip to a temporary folder and run the Setup program.Installing Microsoft AgentMicrosoft Agent comes as part of Windows 2000, however, you might need to install the SAPI 4.0 runtime files and other Agent characters. All the drivers can be installed from Microsoft's Agent Downloads pageYou need to install:
Note:After you install the above, you won't see anything in the Start menu; this is because the above are components, not stand-alone programs. The only new item that you will see is the Speech Control Panel in Control Panel. Use this to train Agent to recognise your voice. The more training sessions you perform, the more accurate it will get. XP Users:Microsoft Windows XP has SAPI 5.0 pre-installed which is not compatible with this program. However, the two engines can co-exist on the same machine. So, go ahead and install the components. |
