| London Expo. @ Excel Saturday 18th May 2002 |
| What a day! We arrived at Docklands Excel at around half past nine. Having pre-booked early bird tickets let us into the London Expo at ten, wheras the rest of the public came in at eleven. It was a Buffy lovers heaven inside- there were stalls and stalls of merchandise from trading cards to chocolate bars. It was literally a forbiddon planet MALL. I didn't waist any time however I jumped in the queue for Michelle Trachtenburg and Kristine Sutherland. We were about fourtieth in line- which was pretty good for what would become 700 people! After about three hours we got our first sighting. Michelle was an hour late because she had to eat. Aparently she'd been up since seven am doing SMTV Live a popular British saturday morning show. Anyways I was standing near the press room- where we'd seen lots of little kids (perhaps Kristine's children?) and staff. Everybody was getting a bit frustrated, but I looked through the window and there I saw Michelle Trachtenburg casually putting lip gloss on herself. I then saw Kristine Sutherland talking to an associate and it wasn't long before the two of them came out. We were all so moved. I mean Dawn and Joyce were standing before our very eyes! Michelle was wearing a black glittery top and red jacket and Kristine looked like Joyce in the episode WEIGHT OF THE WORLD in season five where Buffy was a little girl. Kristine was so nice because, even though she didn't get as many autograph requests as Michelle, if she saw you wished to take a photo of her, she'd stop talking to her PA and looked straight at the camera. Expo was fantastic- the only thing that they could have improved was that is was 15 per autograph per person- maybe a bit of notice to bring extra cash Obviously if you a a buffyoholic you'll know it's well worth it! |
