Jewish and Christian Liturgies: Back to the Sources

First International Workshop

Jerusalem and Neve Ilan, Israel, 17-21.2.2006

Generously funded by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung für Wissenschaftsförderung

A workshop on Jewish and Christian Liturgies “Back to the Sources” organized by Albert Gerhards (Bonn), Israel Yuval (Jerusalem), Clemens Leonhard (Münster) and myself. We are 14 Jewish and Christian scholars of Jewish and Christian liturgy spending several days together reading various kinds of liturgical texts on various liturgical phenomena of the two traditions in order to start overcoming the huge and unnecessary gap between the two disciplines. We hope this to be the first of a series of events, workshops, conferences and other collaborations. For further information (in German) click here.
