ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We are thankful to Mr. Muhammad Amir Khan and Mr. Bryan Fernandes of the PWC CONSULTING, who have provided us the maximum support in respect of preparing the report on human resources prepared by us, with out which the report cannot be effectively completed.  It is also pointed out here that while preparing the report we learnt a lot from these gentleman about the working of an organization.

EXECTIVE SUMMARY

In our opinion, a lot of admistrative work should be enforced for the smooth running of an organization keeping in view the changes occurs in the world. Due to the limited resources of the country and bureaucratic way of working, the real development to compete the market is impossible. To flourish an organization, admistrative, financial and technical expertise are the essential tools and with out which neither the employer nor the employ/workers can run the organization efficiently and effectively. To the above we recommend that proper man and material is to be properly provided for the betterment of an organization.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Before starting the project report we have visited some of the leading organizations of a good repute and in this respect, we spent about a week. Finally we selected and decided to write a report on this human resource company. To complete the report we met various managers/executives and saw the organizational setup. They have co-operated us in all spheres of work being operated there. They have answered amicably the question we raised whatever we raised. We visited all the divisions, sections of the organization. Though the things are running on a right path but keeping in view the day-to-day changes in the world a lot of improvements are to be implemented in the countries, industries and organizations. The employer has directed us to see his website to have more detail for preparing the project report, no doubt we took help from the website. The website is a good source to know the detail of an organization.

PricewaterhouseCoopers have operated in the Middle East and Pakistan for over 20 years and currently have 11 offices in the region. MISSION

The future series: -

Speed. Change. Uncertainty. These three factors impact virtually every industry and every company striving to succeed in a challenging business climate. Companies must be able to shift gears and change direction on a dime as political and economic changes ripple through the global economy with unprecedented speed.

The best way to respond to rapid change is through anticipation, which requires information and knowledge. Our industry points of view can help you on these two fronts. We analyses the factors that will continue to impact industries into the future and predict what industries will look like five or 10 years from now. And we provide our latest thinking on how companies can transform themselves today to meet tomorrow's challenges.

Below we provide short previews of our forthcoming points of view on the future of several industries: -

Big play: The CPG imperative: -

The reality of 2007 could be that growth is dead and retailers "win." Manufacturer-branded consumer packaged goods will likely become commodities as retail mega-chains take a controlling share of consumer mind, wallet and life.

Today, top-line sales growth in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry has slowed to a crawl. Most product categories have matured in developed countries where a clutter of brands, SKUs and messages overload consumers. In emerging markets, penetration and growth opportunities are hindered by a myriad of channel and distribution challenges.

Slow growth becomes exacerbated as retailers consolidate globally and become more sophisticated in marketing their own brands. Retailers are flexing their muscles and demanding more and more from CPG manufacturers, including more trade-promotion spending, "perfect" service, special pricing and global promotions — all with the threat of penalties, charges and deductions, and the ultimate threat of loss of distribution. Their growth and confidence is increasingly matched by their willingness to exert new pressures on CPG companies.

In addition, the industry suffers from complacency. It isn't as innovative as it likes to think, and its products aren't as important to consumers as they once were. In response, CPG companies must reposition themselves with consumers and retailers in a dramatically new way. In classic brand marketing sense, they must understand where they are, where they need to go and what they will need to do to get there.

To recapture influence with consumers and retailers, CPG companies must marshal their resources and "play big" on points of maximum leverage. This does not necessarily mean be big, as massive scale by itself can create rigidity, inflexibility and slow responses. Instead, it points to a state of mind in which influence can be created and sustained.

To play big, CPG companies must: -

1.  Focus operations to unleash maximum influence on consumers and retailers.

2.  Expand consumer value to capture a much greater share of consumer life.

3.  Demand growth by shattering constraints.

4.  Think like retailers to drive leverage.

5.  Collaborate enterprise-wide to capitalise on reach and synergy.

6.  "Operationalise Bigness" for competitive advantage.

The time is now for managers to adopt a high-impact temperament and to be bold. Those who play big must realign the core goals of their companies to establish much improved importance with consumers and to increase leverage with retailers. Therein lies the choice for the CPG industry — take control or see growth die and retailers win.

Ready or Not, Here it comes: High-Tech 2005
The Horizontal, Hyper-Competitive Future: -

Fundamental changes are occurring within the high-tech industry. The very basis of competition is now shifting. The future will be horizontal. Proprietary and vertically integrated business models of the past will be unbundled. The integrated solution stack will break apart into separate layers of software, operating systems and hardware. These will be combined horizontally.

The emergent horizontal, hyper-competitive world will be radically different and will require very different responses. By 2005, profound and disruptive features will define the high-tech landscape.

High-tech companies that don't act now will see their market positions continue to erode. Successful transformation to the horizontal, hyper-competitive future will require companies to fundamentally rethink their roles and their network, and act to realign their capabilities. Business leaders will need to pick their horizontal space, redefine and Web-enable their value propositions, assemble their collaborative networks using e-hubs, integrate their internal operations globally and realign organisation and technology.

Experience Rules: The Hospitality and Leisure Industry Circa 2010: -

Two key forces will shape the hospitality and leisure industry in the next decade and beyond: globalisation and technology innovation.

In 2010, travel will be about engaging in tailored, powerful, seamless personal experiences. Successful companies will identify attractive consumer micro-segments, develop targeted offerings and niche brands. Nimble companies will form collaborative alliance networks and will make use of advanced technical capabilities to tailor their offerings to individuals. They will redirect their workforce to personalise and enhance the guest experience, relying increasingly on automation to handle transactional tasks. Finally, they will reinvent distribution and reservations to flexibly bundle, market, and sell end-to-end travel experiences.

Strategically, hospitality and leisure companies must adopt a global perspective, promote the role of the customer in corporate strategy and product development, look for partnering and acquisition opportunities and rethink how they manage shareholder value.

They should invest in technologies and business processes to collect and analyse guest information, deploy value-added customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, integrate back-of-house and key front-of-house functions and move toward a decapitalised external network business model that makes best use of assets and core skills.

Companies should also invest in their employees by fostering a positive work environment, conducting service-focused training and deploying productivity and knowledge-sharing tools.

2005 and Beyond: The Dynamic Utility Will Be Bigger, Faster ... Flatter: -

Energy and utilities companies are at a crossroads. By 2005, nearly everything an electric or gas company owns or controls will be open to trading, upsizing, downsizing and leveraging.

A combination of forces is driving the utilities industry toward disaggregation. Trends in capital markets, globalisation, outsourcing and new technologies and regulation and legislation will continue to drive this process.
