Luis hugged his little sister and watched her eyes as he pulled back to look at her face. He was so happy his little sister had found love. Theresa was excited and that made Luis happy. She deserved the best. "Luis," she began, "now, I know you will be surprised to hear this, but I want you to promise me you will listen to me before you go flying off the handle. Ok?" Luis didn't like the sound of this suddenly. "Theresa?" he questioned. "Why would I fly off the handle? Is he older then you? What, tell me now!" Theresa without a second thought, blurted it out. "Luis, I am in love with Ethan and he loves me too!!!!" Dead silence followed. A car pulled up to the curb, but neither Lopez-Fitzgerald noticed. Luis's face clouded over like a storm cloud. It took on an ominous, dark look. Suddenly Theresa was not so sure of herself anymore. Maybe Mama had been right. Maybe she should have waited. Luis looked like he was about to blow a gasket. His face turned beet red and his fists clinched in anger at his sides as if restraining themselves from jumping around her neck. For the first time in her entire life, Theresa was truly afraid of Luis. "WHAT?????" Luis thundered. "Tell me I didn't just hear what I thought I did. Theresa flinched away from him in fear. She had never heard that tone from Luis even at his worst. Sheridan and Ethan got out of the car and they heard the explosive question from Luis. Ethan started to run, but Sheridan took his arm and held him back. "Wait Ethan." she said. "You might make it worse." Ethan looked at his Aunt. "If he harms a hair on her head, I will take him apart at the seams." Ethan growled. "Sheridan didn't like this at all. Never in her life had she ever thought that Ethan would fall in love with Theresa. Luis's sister was a beauty. There was no question there. After all she was Luis' sister. But all his life, Ethan had been groomed to marry Gwen. It was planned almost from his birth. She remembered once when Ethan was just a baby. Ivy laid him in his cradle and was talking to him and telling him how his wife had just been born. Sheridan had asked Ivy what she meant. Ivy had laughed and told Sheridan that one day Ethan would marry Gwen Hotchkiss. It was his destiny. Even at that young age, Sheridan had questioned that. How could you know that?People met and fell in love. They weren't born in love. They approached the place where Theresa and Luis stood. Luis's fists where at his sides flexing open and shut. Theresa had big tears running down her face and her lower lip stuck out and quivered. Ethan was lost at the look on her face. Luis turned when Theresa looked behind him. "You!!" he said looking at Ethan. "I'll kill you. What did you do to my sister? If you laid one finger on her, I will wring your white collar neck with my blue collar hands until your blue blood comes out your ears!!!!" Luis thundered. He advanced at Ethan. "No Luis stop!" Theresa pleaded. "Don't do this. Ethan didn't touch me that way. He's a gentleman. I love him Luis! Don't you dare hurt him." Theresa grabbed his arm, but Luis jerked away from her. She bit her lip as Luis yanked his arm and cried out as blood appeared on her lip. Ethan was enraged. "Look what you did to her" he shouted at Luis. Luis didn't even turn around. He saw red. He advanced at Ethan his eyes full of rage. All his anger at the Cranes boiled through his veins. He wanted justice. Sheridan watched as Luis came at Ethan. She did the only thing she could think of. She put herself between Luis and Ethan facing Luis. She placed her hands on his chest. "Luis stop" she said in a calm voice. He did. Her softly spoken plea reached him even in his darkest anger. He looked down into her soft blue eyes. She didn't say a word. Her eyes spoke to him. They pleaded with him to remain calm. To stop this and to listen. Looking in her eyes had a calming effect on him. Some of his anger dissolved. He didn't advance further at Ethan. Ethan went straight to Theresa then. He pulled out his handkerchief and dabbed at the blood flowing from Theresa's split lip. He forgot about Sheridan and Luis even being there. All he knew was Theresa was hurt. Luis watched this in silence. Sheridan's hands rested on his chest and he felt more of the anger dissipate. He saw then what a jerk he was being. Ethan's love for his sister was evident in the way he acted with her. Sheridan watched as realization dawned on Luis. She saw the love Ethan had for Theresa. Now she saw as Luis noticed it too. Theresa was still crying and Ethan put his arm around her to comfort her and she lay her head on his shoulder. Luis tensed up again, but Sheridan's reassuring hands on his chest calmed him again. Maybe they could talk this out rationally. Sheridan looked deeply into Luis's dark eyes. He in turn gazed deeply into hers. He could get lost in her eyes. They were so soft and loving. He saw her feelings for him in her eyes. She wasn't worried about Ethan so much as she was worried about him. He wanted to do her bidding. He could no more refuse Sheridan then he could his sisters or Mother. They all had him wrapped around their little fingers. Luis would never hurt Theresa, nor would he or could he ever hurt Sheridan. Ethan was a Crane though damn it. But then again so was Sheridan. His sweet gentle Sheridan was nothing like the rest of them. Maybe Ethan was more like her then he wanted to believe. His hatred of the Cranes had stopped him from seeing the real Sheridan for a long time there, maybe it was the same with Ethan. If Theresa loved him, maybe he deserved a chance. "What are your intentions towards my sister?" Luis asked then in a restrained voice. He wanted to be calm, but emotions were still running rampant through him. Ethan looked Luis right in the eye and asked. "What are your intentions towards my Aunt?" That stopped Luis cold. "He didn't want to get into this with Ethan now. He was still so unsure of his feelings yet. He did love Sheridan. But how much and what might happen was still so unclear. He didn't even know if Sheridan wanted anything to be between them. The two men sized each other up then. Neither man looked away or backed down. Then as if by mutual understanding, they reached out and shook hands. Theresa's jaw fell open and Sheridan's face showed utter shock. "I expect you to respect my sister" Luis said to Ethan with his face set in a stone serious look. Ethan's face took on the same look as he said, "I expect the same from you." Both men nodded in agreement. "Oh Luis" Theresa gushed. "I knew you would understand!" She threw herself at Luis who let go of Sheridan as his sister bounded into his embrace. She gave him a quick hug and then turned to hug Sheridan. With that she grabbed Ethan's hand and pulled him into the house offering him Luis's snack. Ethan turned to see Sheridan watching him intensely. "What?" he asked. Sheridan shook her head at him. "You know sometimes you amaze me officer." she said with a smile. "Thank you for seeing things the way they are instead of causing a ruckus." Luis shook his head at her. "And risk the wrath of Sheridan. No way! Been there done that!" he said with a laugh. "Hey" she said punching him playfully on the arm. "You make me sound like a witch or something." Luis smiled wickedly. "You know what they say." he challenged "If the shoe fits." He dodged another punch and sprinted to his car. She followed him playing along with the game. He ducked down behind the car and Sheridan went to follow, when her gaze fell on an object laying on the grass. She picked it up and prayed it was on! She pointed the hose towards where Luis was and said in a deceptively innocent voice,"Ok I give. Lets go home." Luis stood up making a smartass comment about women being the weaker sex anyway when the spray hit him. It took him off guard. He recovered quickly though and advanced on her. "Oh you are going to be sorry you did that" he growled. Sheridan watched as a wet Luis advanced on her. She gave a playful scream and turned to run. Luis was gaining on her fast. Suddenly her feet flew out from beneath her. She fell flat on the ground. Suddenly Luis was next to her full of concern. "Are you ok" he asked. "Did you hurt anything?" She looked him square in the face and blasted him with water from the hose she still held in her hand. Once again she had caught him off guard. Luis sputtered in mock anger. "Oh that's it" he yelled and grabbed her hand and wrestled the hose away from her. Pinning her down with his body, he grabbed her wrists and held them above her head. Then with the hand he had free, he aimed the hose down her shirt and turned the water on full blast. Sheridan screamed as the cold water hit her skin. She squirmed under him as he kept the water flowing. Suddenly the game turned serious. Luis realized she was under him in a very provocative position and her wiggling was making him more aware of her by the minute. She too realized the game was moving into dangerous territory. She was suddenly aware of his body pressing down onto hers. His muscles bunched and flexed as he held her down. His lower body was over hers and lay nestled between her legs. At that exact moment, his body reacted to the close proximity and stirred to life. She looked up into his eyes and saw the desire rising in his eyes to match her own. His eyes seemed to devour her face and then he moved forward, his eyes latched onto her beautiful mouth. He wanted to taste her again. Her kisses had set him on fire last time. They were sweeter then any candy he had ever tasted. Just as he moved closer a voice startled them both. "What in the world is going on here?" They both jerked and Luis jumped up off of her. A very startled Pilar stood watching them. Luis reached down to give Sheridan a hand up and they turned to face Pilar. "Pilar," Sheridan said. "I...we were ......well you see......" Luis almost laughed out loud at her discomfort. "Mama," Luis said. "We were just leaving when Sheridan decided to shoot me with the hose. So you see, I had to get her back." Pilar looked from one to the other. She wasn't blind. She knew if she hadn't interrupted they would have kissed. Why had she? Sheridan was a wonderful woman. Any Mother would be glad to see her son dating her. Only she wasn't. Sometimes she thought about it and told herself it was that she was afraid of what the Cranes would do to Luis and then other times she realized it was out of fear of losing Luis. He was the man of the house. Without his income, they couldn't' make it. She wanted him to be happy, but she also needed him. Guilt over her thought filled her and she took on a stern expression to cover it. "Luis shouldn't you two be getting back to the cottage where it is safer?" Luis knew that she was right. "Your right Mama." He said. "Come on Sheridan. We better go." They turned and all but ran to the car. They got in and drove off.

Sheridan's cottage........

Sheridan went straight into a hot bath as soon as they got in the door. She went in growling about being in wet cold clothes. Luis' laughter had followed her into the other room. Luis sat on the couch thinking about what had almost happened earlier. If Mama hadn't walked up, he would have kissed Sheridan. What did it mean? Where were they going? He was not even sure she wanted a kiss from him, although at the time, he swore it was mutual. Her eyes seemed to mirror the desire in his. Her blue eyes sparkled after they kissed. The times they had kissed, the look in them afterward twisted Luis's insides into knots. He thought she was on the same page as him once before and look where it ended? He didn't want that again. If he opened up to Sheridan and she threw his feelings back in his face, he couldn't deal with that. The feelings were still so new to him, he didn't even know if he could put them into words. Maybe it was time he tried. They had been doing a tap-dance around the truth long enough. They needed to talk and get the facts straight. He was determined that they would talk it all out as soon as Sheridan got out of the bathtub.

Meanwhile....

Sheridan sat thinking while she soaked in a hot bubble bath. They had almost kissed again. The last kiss they shared still kept her awake some nights and reoccurred almost every night in her dreams. How his lips were gentle yet firm and how his tongue slid over her lips softly before slipping in to meet her own questing tongue. How he seemed to know what she wanted. How good his muscled arms felt as they held her close to him. She wanted that to happen again. If not for Pilar, they would have kissed. Sitting here now, she realized how much she had wanted it to happen. She decided it was time to put the cards out on the table. She needed to tell him why she pushed him away and give him time to explain why he had done what he had. The closer they got now, the more she realized there must be a rational explanation for what she had heard. She wanted to get past that and move on. Move on to more of him on top of her. More of his lips on hers. She wanted him to hold her in her bed at night and she wanted to make love with him. He wanted it too. She was sure now after how his body had reacted to hers earlier. Determined and content with her decision, she slid out of the tub, dried off and slipped into her silk bathrobe. She walked out into her bedroom. She wanted to run a brush through her hair and then she intended to have that talk with Luis. She was reaching for her brush when something crashed silently against her skull knocking her unconscious before she could scream.

Chapter 2

Sheridan's cottage.......

Luis sat waiting impatiently for Sheridan to come out. She had gotten out of the tub some time ago. He heard her drain the tub. Maybe she was avoiding him. Maybe she hadn't liked the fact they had almost kissed again. Maybe she was avoiding him. He was determined to get this out no matter what. He strode over to her room and knocked loudly on her door. "Hey you," he yelled. "Are you coming out or what?" No answer came. Maybe she fell asleep. She had a long day after all. He tried the door and found it open. He expected her to be on the bed or in a chair. Instead he found the room empty. He flipped on the light and his heart skipped a beat. There on the floor was a puddle of dark red liquid. Drops of red led away from the puddle to the door that led out of her room. Fear took Luis by storm. My God they had sent another hitman and he had gotten Sheridan. Damn it. He had been so distracted today, he had forgotten about the danger. He followed the blood droplets out to the street where they ended abruptly. Obviously when he put her in his vehicle. "Damn damn damn" Luis swore. "How could he have been so careless?" I mean we were only talking about the women he loved here that was all. He grabbed his keys out of his pocket and ran to his cruiser. He was headed for the station.

Meanwhile......

Sheridan came to slowly. Her head was killing her. Man, what a headache. She remembered crying a lot of the day. That would explain the headache. She was cold though and it was dark and she was lying on something hard. She was also moving. She came fully awake then at that realization. My God, she wasn't in her bed at home or on the floor of her cottage as she had thought she might be. She waited until her eyes adjusted and she could make out that she was in the trunk of a car. The car was moving at a fast pace as far as she could tell. She was more frightened then she had been in her entire life. "Luis!!" she screamed. "Oh God, help me! Luis where are you?" The man driving the car shook his head. She could scream all she wanted. Her precious Luis was never going to find her. He would make sure of that. He patted his pocket. He had enough cash to last for a long long time. They drove on for hours it seemed to Sheridan, but it might have only been a matter of minutes. Every second seemed to drag on endlessly. She was frightened and cold. The trunk smelled and the fumes from the exhaust made her feel nauseous. Finally the car came to a rolling stop. The engine shut off and she heard foot steps leave the vehicle. Oh, they couldn't leave her in here all night could they? Maybe if she screamed, someone would hear her and come to let her out and call Luis for her. She opened her mouth to scream when the trunk popped open and she almost cried out in relief when Hank poked his head in. "Hank" she exclaimed jumping up and throwing her arms around his neck. Luis and Hank had somehow found her. She smiled at Hank. "I am so glad you found me. Where's Luis" she asked? She looked around expecting Luis to be somewhere in the vicinity. When she didn't see him, she looked at Hank confused. "He's not here" Hank said, a funny tone to his voice. "He's also not coming." Sheridan looked at Hank in confusion. She didn't know why Hank sounded so funny. "Well, that's ok. Let's call him and tell him I'm ok. He must be worried sick by now. How did you find me anyway?" she said. Hank didn't answer. He turned and walked into a cabin that was in front of them. Sheridan shrugged her shoulders and followed him in. He must be going to call Luis she thought. When she walked through the door, she gasped in surprise. The room was full of flowers of every kind. Every available space was taken up by flowers it seemed. It was sweet, but too much. Someone was trying to impress someone, but it seemed like overkill to Sheridan. She preferred a small bouquet of her favorite flowers to this type of showiness. "Someone must be planning to come here for their honeymoon." Sheridan laughed. Hank got a funny look on his face. "Do you like them" he asked. Sheridan shrugged her shoulders and answered. "It's a bit of overkill if you ask me. I think the guy is trying too hard." Hanks face took on a reddish hew and he turned away from her. "So you don't like them then?" he asked. Sheridan gave a little laugh. "Well, it's not like they are for me." Hank turned to her then suddenly. He looked angry. "Actually they are for you!" he snarled. "But, if you don't like them, then I will gladly get rid of them for you." With that he picked up several arrangements and tossed them out the door. He continued to grab flowers and toss them out the door. What in the heck was going on here Sheridan wondered. Why was Hank acting this way? "Hank" she asked tentatively. "Umm, what is going on here?" Hank turned to her huffing from the effort to throw all the flowers away. "I only wanted to please you." he snapped. "If you don't like them, then I will do away with them." Sheridan was totally confused then. "Ok" she said. "That's fine. But, if you don't mind, I think I will give Luis a call and let him know we are on our way back to Harmony." Hank grabbed her as she walked towards a phone she saw sitting on a table next to an old wing chair. "Don't you get it?" he asked."We aren't going back to Harmony." Sheridan looked at Hank as if he had grown a second head. "Why wouldn't we be going back to Harmony?" she asked. " I did this for you." Hank said. "I thought you would like the flowers. I wanted you to be happy. This is the beginning of a new life. I love you." Sheridan gasped out loud at his declaration. "You love me?" she stammered. "Hank, we have been out on two or three dates. How can you love me? I hardly even know you." Hank glared at her then. "I know you love me too. You asked me to go out on New Years with you. I feel your feelings towards me everytime we are together." he said. Sheridan stared at him not knowing how to respond at first. Then she realized the truth was in order here. "Hank" she began softly. "I don't know how to say this gently so I am just going to spit it out. I don't love you. I like you as a friend. I didn't know I was asking you out on New Years. I thought Luis was in that storage room. I'm sorry if this is hurtful to you. I just don't have those feelings towards you. I don't want to hurt you. You have been a great friend to me, but you deserve the truth." Hank spun around then and his hand flew out as if to strike her. He stopped himself before he actually hit her, but his intention was obvious. She drew back in fear. "Damn it Sheridan. I love you. I don't want to hurt you. But, you have to understand. I am your husband now." Sheridan's mouth dropped open at that statement. Hank had gone crazy. "Hank you know we are not married." Sheridan said trying not to upset him more. "Oh yeah" Hank sputtered. "Then what are these?" Hank tossed a handful of pictures and papers on the middle of the table they had moved in front of. She picked up several. They were pictures. They were of her and Hank in wedding clothes. They looked real. On closer inspection though, she saw that their heads had been pasted on different bodies. Only she had to look very closely to see it. Someone just glancing wouldn't notice the subtle things she did. There were tons of pictures with various people as bridesmaids and groomsmen and a flower girl as well. None of whom Sheridan recognized. They were professionally done. Someone went to a lot of work on these. The next thing she picked up was a marriage certificate. The names on it were Sherry Louise Cranberry and Harry Anthony Banks. They were joined in holy matrimony on this date. "Who are these people" she asked Hank. "That's us Sherry." Hank said. "Those are our new names Mrs. Banks." Sheridan started to get scared again. Hank was really going around the bend. He actually believed they were married. He was thinking of them as a married couple. Just then the phone rang. Hank answered it by pressing speaker phone. "Hello" Alistair Crane said. For the first time in her entire life, Sheridan was glad to hear her fathers voice. "Father" she said. "Oh I am so glad to hear your voice." Alistair laughed at the sound of desperation in her voice. "Hello Sherry dear." he said with an evil tone to his voice. "Father" she started then stopped when she realized that her Father had addressed her as Sherry. "Yes, dear?" her father asked."How is that new husband of yours?" Sheridan knew then what was happening. Hank could not have pulled this off alone. Of course her Father was involved. "Why" she asked, tears rising up to clog her throat. "Well, you see my dear," he said in mock care. "I tried to keep you away from that cop and you wouldn't listen. I even tried to make you hate him and it backfired. You still loved him even after you thought he said bad things about you." The truth hit Sheridan like a ton of bricks. Her father had done that to her. How she didn't' know, but what ever it was, Luis had not said those things she thought he had. He was the good man she had known he was. Now he had no idea where she was. She wanted to see his face again. She was hoping against all hope that somehow he would find her and rescue her. He had managed to find her other times when it seemed hopeless. She silently prayed for him to find her. "Well, Father," Hank said. "Tell us what you have planned for us." Alistiar gave an evil laugh. "Well, Son," Alistair said. "Tomorrow morning you and your new bride are on a flight from Earlville to Athens, Greece. You will spend the next year there living as a married couple. Then next year you will move on to a new country to be decided at a later date. Think of it. Living the good life. Never worrying about work. Traveling and living abroad." Hank rubbed his hands together in glee. "Doesn't that sound great?" he asked Sheridan. "No" she snapped. "What makes you think I will go along with this plan?" Alistair gave another of his famous evil laughs. "Don't' worry my dear Sherry. A very good doctor I know is on his way there to give you a drug that will make you forget your whole past and plant new memories in your mind. When you leave tomorrow you won't even remember there was ever a cop named Luis in Harmony." Tears formed and fell from Sheridan's eyes. "How can you do this to me Father?" she sobbed. "Don't you love me." There was silence from the other end of the speaker phone. Finally Alistair replied. "No I don't. I never loved you. You killed your mother with your birth. I hated you from the moment you took the love of my life from me. That is why I have always set out to make sure you never know love." Sheridan felt as if a knife was thrust in her chest. Her own Father. Hank moved towards her as if to comfort her. "I still love you." Hank said. She walked over to a sofa on the other side of the room and collapsed on the seat. Sobs shook her body. Her Father was so wrong. She had known love. Luis loved her. Even if he never admitted it out loud, she had felt it.

The Harmony PD.........

Luis paced the floor like a caged animal. Sam watched his good friend. Man, the guy had it bad for this woman. He knew how he felt. Sam had felt the same way about Grace. He had no idea how to help Luis either. Luis stopped and slammed his fists down on the desk in front of him. "Damn it Sam. How am I ever going to find her? I wish I knew where Hank was. Are you sure he didn't tell you where he was going?" Luis snapped. Sam shook his head. "I told you Luis,"Sam said."Hank said he needed to get away from it all and he didn't want to be bothered by anyone even family and friends. I thought it was strange at the time, but then he was just shot, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. To tell you the truth Luis, I don't' expect to see him back anytime soon. You know how Hank gets. He gets itchy feet and off he goes." A fellow officer walking by stopped and looked at the two men. "I need to tell you something. I told him I wouldn't tell, but under the circumstances, I think he would want to know this." the officer said. What?" Luis and Sam snapped at the same second. "Well he said he need some time away and I told him he could borrow my cabin. It's only about two hours from here" the officer said. "You know where Hank is?" Luis asked. "Thank God. Please tell me how to get there. I want to go and get him right away. I need his help. Is there are phone up there anyway?" The officer shook his head no. "No there is no phone up there. That was part of the draw for him." the officer said. Luis took the directions and ran out the door. The sooner he got to Hank and got him back here, the sooner they could both look for Sheridan.

Back at the secluded cabin.......

They had just gotten the news that the doctor that was coming to "help" Sheridan forget her past, had been delayed. He could not come until some time tomorrow afternoon. Hank was disappointed and Alistair had sounded mad, but it couldn't be helped. Secretly Sheridan rejoiced. That gave Luis more time to find her. She prayed he would find her. She loved him so much and she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. It had been hours now and she was getting restless. She found there was no phone and she had felt the despair creep up on her. Hank had been watching her for quite a while now. He was formulating a plan here. If the doctor erased Sheridan's memory, she wouldn't remember anything that happened now. He wanted to make love to her. He knew too that she wouldn't do that. The good thing was that if he forced himself on her, she would never remember it. He made the decision and went for it. He walked over to where she sat on the sofa and sat down next to her. Suddenly he grabbed her and planted his lips on hers. Her strangled cries were drowned out by his mouth. His hands roamed her body and pressed against her. She pulled her mouth away from him. "Hank stop it" she said. Hank smiled at her. "I don't want to be the one to break this to you, but even if I have to rape you, it will be ok because tomorrow the doctor will erase any and all of your memories. Just go with it." Sheridan cried as his lips crushed down on hers once again. Her mind flew to Luis. God help me she prayed.Send Luis to save me. Hank pushed her back and lay down on top of her nearly crushing the breath from her lungs. Luis pulled up to the cabin hoping that Hank was here and not out on a walk. The sooner they left here and got back to Harmony, the sooner they could start searching for Sheridan. He was just at the door when he heard her strangled cries. It was Sheridan. He darted to the window then and looked in. Hank was on top of an obviously upset Sheridan. Hank was hurting her and didn't seem to take notice or care. If Luis didn't know better he would say he was attempting to rape her. Luis took his gun from his holster he had slipped on before he had left Harmony. He burst in the door. "Hank" he yelled. "What is going on here?" Hank jerked in shock. How the hell had Luis found them? Hank took out his gun he had hidden and pointed it at Sheridan's head. Luis jerked in surprise. "Hank, buddy, what the hell are you doing?" "Why" Hank asked almost in tears. "Why did you have to come? You are going to spoil everything. Why can't you just leave us alone. We are in love." Luis looked at Sheridan her face streaked with tears and her lips swollen from Hank's rough kisses. "That's not what it looks like to me Hank. Sheridan is crying. It doesn't look like that to me." Hank was angry now. "Just leave Luis. I will take care of her. You can have any girl you want. Why do you want to take my girl?" Luis's hand shook as he pointed the gun at Hank. "Hank, if you love her let her go. She doesn't want to be here. She doesn't want you. She is crying. Let her come to me and we can forget all about this. What do you say?" Hank put the gun to Sheridan's temple. "If you love her Buddy" Hank snarled, "You will turn around and leave now." Luis shook his head. "I can't do that." Fine Hank said and cocked the gun. A shot rent the air.........

Chapter 3

The secluded cabin..............

A shot rang out and Sheridan screamed. Hank jerked as the bullet tore into his body. It went in his chest. Hank felt the life begin to seep out of his body. Hank fell to the floor and Sheridan all but fell into Luis' arms. She was crying hard. Hank looked up at Luis his eyes full of pain. "Luis?" Hank gasped."You shot me." His breath slowed then as Luis grabbed his cell phone and called for a medivac helicopter. "Hold on Hank" Luis said to his former best friend. The woman in his arms still shook from what had almost happened. How could Hank even consider raping her? The rest of the day seemed to pass in a blur. The helicopter came and took Hank to the hospital. The police came and talked to both of them. Luis was sickened by the tale that Sheridan told. The pictures were taken in for evidence as well as the fake papers and the plane tickets in the fake names. Unfortunately nothing could be traced back to Alistair. If Hank lived, he was looking at a long jail term. The truth about the stuff Sheridan overheard on the docks that night came up too. Finally it was clear why she had pushed him away. It was all so much to take in. They drove home in silence. Sheridan had scooted over and slipped her hand into his. She glanced at him before she laid her head on his shoulder. He felt her body relax a little while later as she slipped off to sleep. He had way too much time to think then. He had shot the man who was his best friend his whole life. Hank had forced his hand because had he not shot him, he had no doubt that he would have shot Sheridan. Something had snapped in Hanks brain. He had been a great man. A great friend too. Until now that is. He looked down at the sleeping woman he loved as he slid out of the car and carried her into the house. She didn't even stir when he lay her in her own bed. She curled in a ball and slept on. He didn't even want to think what would happen if something happened to her. He felt a love like nothing he had ever experienced before. It was deep in his heart that almost hurt it was so strong. He leaned down and kissed her forehead. She smiled in her sleep. He slipped out quietly and went to lay down on the sofa in her livingroom. He didn't want to leave her, but he didn't want to push his love on her either. She may not have the same deep feelings he had for her. He really needed her now, but nothing could have made him wake her up. He drifted into a restless sleep. The nightmare took him then. The gun pointed at Sheridan's head went off instead of his gun and Sheridan collapsed in a heap of blood on the floor. "No!!!!! Sheridan!!" Luis screamed. Sheridan jerked awake at his desperate scream. Luis needed her she realized. It was her turn to comfort him from a nightmare. As many times as he had helped her through hers, he was due for help of his own. She sat next to him and stroked his face. "Luis it's alritght.I'm here. I'm ok." "Sheridan" he gasped when he opened his eyes. He pulled her down into his arms. Oh thank God it had been a nightmare. She was here. She was alive and in his arms. He grabbed her and pulled her down on top of him. She went willingly. She knew he needed her and she wanted nothing more then to be here for him. His arms held her and his mouth sought hers. She wanted this as much as he did. Their mouths met in a searing kiss. All the pent up sexual tension and love they had kept a secret came out in the kiss. His tongue slipped between her lips and met and tangled with her tongue. His hands roamed over her body and slipped down and then up under her night shirt she had changed into before. She had woken up in her clothes and had changed. She had peeked out and seen that Luis was asleep. She had debated if he would reject her if she slipped onto the sofa with him. She had wavered and decided to wait. Now she knew he would not reject her. His hands roamed up her ribs until they reached her breasts. His hands slid up further and covered her breasts. They just fit in the palm is his hand. His thumbs made slow easy circles over her nipples nearly driving her to distraction. "Luis" she whispered. Her hand slid down between them to his zipper. She pulled it down and undid the snap of the jeans he still had on. He had shucked his shirt before he laid down. She slid her hand in and found him. She pushed his pants down a little further. Her hand moved on him making him groan. His mouth left hers and trailed small kissed down her neck and her chest until he reached his destination. His mouth claimed her nipple and she made a small sound in the back of her throat. She arched her back to him. Her hand moved over him making him groan as well. His hands traveled down her body and into her pants. He moved his hand down over her abdomen. He splayed his hand out over her and then his fingers slipped lower. He moved his fingers to make her cry out. She tightened her grip on him almost making him lose it. He suddenly realized they were at the point of no return. He leaned up looked directly in her eyes. "Are you sure Sheridan?" he asked. She answered him by placing her lips on his. "Wait" he said. "Sheridan I don't have any....you know...." She wanted to laugh at his schoolboy discomfort. She sat up and removed her clothes and started in on his. "It's ok Luis," she said. "I have been on the pill for years." The last thing keeping them apart was now gone. He gave a mock growl and turned putting her beneath him. His knees pushed hers apart and he settled down between her knees. His mouth took hers as his body joined hers. He drove her to the edge and back again. He was a perfect lover and gave more then he asked. They were locked together in a tango of a different kind. This one was the final barrier crossed. He suddenly stood up never leaving her body. He carried her across the room and into her bedroom. Her legs wrapped around his waist as he carried her his mouth and tongue moving with his body. She gripped his muscled arms and wound her arms up around his strong shoulders and slipped into his luscious hair. She pulled him deeper into the kiss as he found the bed and lay them down on it. He moved in her taking her to the stars and beyond and then held her as she sailed back to earth. She knew he had waited for her and she arched her back and met his body and felt him go over that edge. He lay down on top of her afterward. He moved to take the weight off of her. She held him tight to her. "No don't go. Stay with me" she whispered. "He sat up on his elbows to look at her. "I don't want to hurt you." he said. "Never" she smiled. "You could never hurt me. I love you Luis. I have for so long now. I want to stay this way forever." Luis smiled down and kissed her again before saying, "Whats forever for except to share with the person you love the most. I want to be with you forever too. I love you so much Sheridan. I'm going to love you forever. He kissed her again and slipped back into her showing how much he loved her.
