Sheridan was getting dressed, it was the first day of the last week of high school forever. Sheridan couldn't believe she was about to graduate. She was so busy thinking about the night before that she almost didn't here her phone ring.
"Hello."
"Hey Sheri, it's me Yasmine, why didn't you tell me that you and Matt broke up last night?"
"Oh... I don't know I just didn't really feel like talking to much last night."
"Well Melinda called me this morning and told me that she heard form Cindy who heard from Sydney, who heard from Blaney, who heard form Matt's older sister, Gillian."
"Oh... Great.... Listen I gotta go I gotta get ready ok see you at school, Bye."
"Bye."
'Today is going to be the worst day of my life.' Sheridan thought to herself. 'Everyone in the world is going to ask me, and they know that I don't want to talk about it.'
Sheridan walked to her closet and picked out a pair of khaki capris and a light purple polo shirt. Then put on her favorite chunky brown sandals.
'This will have to do. Besides it's not like I am trying to impress anyone.' She thought to herself.
Sheridan walked to her bathroom and opened up her make up drawer. There was tons, and tons of bright colors to choose to put on but Sheridan dug her way to the back and pulled out a pale purple eye shadow, light pink lipstick, and clear mascara, she didn't want black streaks running down her face when she was crying. She put all of it on and it only took her two minutes.
'Pretty good Sheri considering your usual hour long process.' She thought as she let out a small chuckle.
She brushed her hair out and pulled it back into a pony tail. She tied a white ribbon in her hair. Then she went and grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder and headed out the door to her brand new Lexus ES 300. She had just turned 18 and this was her present. She hopped in and drove to school.
~~~~Later at school~~~~
When Sheridan pulled into the student parking lot Melinda, Cindy, Sydney, Yasmine, Nicole, Chloe, Blaney, and Tricia were all standing in her parking space waiting for her. They moved away as she pulled in hten ran back to her car and hovered over it as she slowly opened the door.
Then as if they had planned it they all said "Oh my God, Sheridan are you okay what happened?"
"Give us every detail."
"Was it awful?"
"Did you know it was going to happen?"
"Sheridan you look awful, was it that bad?"
Sheridan didn't answer any of them it was as if she had zoned all of them completly out. She walked into to school only to meet thousands of stares. She walked past all of them and tried not to look at any of them. She just loooked at the floor. She wasn't paying any attention when she bumped into some one. All of her books dumped out on to the floor.
"Why don't you watch where you're going!" She yelled out.
"Me? You were the one who wasn't watching where she was going."
Sheridan couldn't believe what she was hearing. Some one dared to blame her Sheridan Crane. She looked up to see who this idiot was. She looked up only to met the most beautiful dark brown eyes. Her heart melted.
Chapter 2
How dare this person accuse her Sheridan Crane of doing this she looked up to see who this idiot was. When she saw his dark brown eyes her heart melted.
"Oh, Oh... I am sorry." She said.
"Well I guess it's ok." He flashed her a smile that made her melt again. "I'm Luis."
"I'm...I'm..." For the first tiem in her life Sheridan was at a loss for words.
"Sheridan Crane." He said for her.
"Yeah," she said as she snapped back to reality, "how did you know?"
"Everyone knows Sheridan Crane, captain of the cheerleading team, homecoming and prom queen."
"Oh." She said sad that that was the only way he knew her.
"You know you are a lot prettier with out all that make-up on."
"Thanks I guess."
"No I mean you've always been beautiful it's just you look even more radiant with out all that goop on. So why aren't you wearing much?"
"Well, my boyfriend just broke up with me and I didn't feel like wearing much."
"Wow! You and Matt broke up? You have been going out since 9th grade."
"Yeah well I am glad it's over."
"Why?"
"Matt was such and idiot, he was dumber than dirt, yuo couldn't hold a real conversation with him."
"So why did you go out."
"His looks and it's the rules."
"The rules?"
"Not really rules, but isn't the cheerleader slash prom queen suppossed to date the school jock?"
"Not that I know of, I think you should date who ever you want."
"Really?"
Just then two of Matt's buds, Brad and Jake, came up.
"Whoa you move fast Sheridan maybe you really are a slut no wonder Matt broke up with you."
"Shut up Brad!"
"You are such a loser,... you virgin!"
"Stop it, Shut the hell up Jake why don't you just go!" Sheridan was beginning to cry.
"Oh don't worry we will leave we don't hang with losers!"
As they left Sheridan turned to Luis expecting him to be rolling on the floor but he wasn't he had a caring "I understand" look on his face.
"Luis please."
"I won't say anything."
"Thanks, you know you're about the only decent guy in this school."
He put his arms around her and she rested her head on his chest and cried.
"Well the tardy bell is about to ring, how about I walk you to class."
"I'd like that."
When they reached her class Lusi turned to her an asked, "So would you like to maybe go somewhere with me tonight?"
"Yeah, that would be nice."
"Ok I'll pick you up at yuor house tonight at 7:30."
"Ok."
She watched as he walked off. 'Maybe today won't be so bad after all.'She thought.
Chapter 3
Sheridan was digging through her closet looking for something to wear to Alicia Sonesta's Party tonight. It was Friday night and she and Luis had gone out every night this week. She liked being with Luis. We was nothing like Matt. He actually listened to her problems. He was sweet, smart, and sexy. "Ahh Hah! There you are." She pulled out her favorite little black skirt and went searching for that new top she had just bought. She finally found it. It was a hot pink tube top. She ran to the bathroom. The curlers were so hot on her head.'These things are going to burn my scalp off.' She thought. She quickly took them out and smiled at the curls she had just made in her hair. Just then the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." She grabbed her leather jacket and ran down the stairs.
"Hey Luis!"
"Hey, Wow! You look amazing!"
"You don't look to bad yourself."
He smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Well I'm ready!"
"Ummm... Sheridan aren't you forgetting something?" He said as he looked down at her bare feet.
"Oh yeah shoes."She smacked herself in the head."Be right back."
She ran up stairs and found some black strappy sandals.
"This will have to do." she said as she ran down the stairs. She stopped at the bottom and put them on.
"Okay I'm ready now, I have everything on now."
"Okay lets go!
~~~~~At the party~~~~~
When they arrived at the party Sheridan went over to her friends and Luis went to his. The first two he spotted were Hank and Jeff.
"Luis you are so smooth how did you get her?" Hank asked.
"Well I didn't get her Hank."
"Yeah ok, whatever,... so buddy I bet she's real easy!"
"Hank shut up ok, you don't know the first thing about Sheridan."
"Whoa somebody's a little defensive tonight." Jeff said.
"I'll have you both know that I have not done a single thing with Sheridan other than a few dates."
"You mean you haven't even kissed her?"
"Nope."
"Luis, you sure are taking it slow with this one. Why?"
"Because she's different."
***Meanwhile***
"Sheridan, Luis is so hot!"
"Oh girl I have to say that Yasmine's right, Luis is just to fine for his on good."
"How on earth did you find him?"
"We bumped into each other the other day."
"Well bumping into people lets you find people like that then I better start bumpin'"
"Oh Sheridan I bet he's great in bed, am I right?"
'Oh no! What do I do I can't tell them I'm a virgin. I know none of them are. They will just laugh at me.' "Well..."She was trying to stall. She reached for something to drink. Luis noticed the panicked look on her face and came over.
"So what's going on tonight girls."
"Oh nothing."
Sheridan was busy chugging away at her second drink of beer.
"Well can I borrow Sheridan for just a minute?"
"Yeah sure!"
"Uh Sheridan."
"UhhHuh?" She was starting on her third.
"Can I see you in the kitchen?"
"Yeah sure!"
"Okay," He grabbed her hand,"and lets leave that here." He said as he took the beer out of her hand.
"Luis! That was rude!"
"Sheridan what's gotten in to you?"
"Nothing, I was just having a little fun."
"Drinking three beers in three minutes is not what I call fun."
"Okay so I was a little nervous around my friends."
"Why?"
"Because they asked if I had slept with you yet. And I didn't know what to say."
"Sheridan, you are the craziest girl I know. You would puke your guts up to save yuor reputation."
"I know I know, but it's a risk I am willing to take."
"Sheridan your only going to get hurt if you do that."
"Luis stop it your not my father."
"No Sheridan I'm not I don't know what's gotten into you and I don't like it. I'm going home find yourself a ride home. I am sure it won't be hard for you."
Chapter 4
"Luis!" Sheridan yelled as Luis made his way through the crowd to the door. The music was to loud for him to hear her. "Luis wait!" She began to shove her way through the crowd. But it was to late by the time she had the door open his car was half way down the street.
She closed the door and rested her back on the door. 'What have you done Sheridan?'
~Meanwhile~
Luis was riding in his car. He couldn't stop thinking about Sheridan at the party. He saw visions of her getting drunk of people grabbing her and screaming and yelling at her until she began to cry. 'Stop it Luis, get her out of your head. She's nothing but trouble. If you mess with her you'll only get hurt.' But he couldn't shake the feeling that she was in trouble.
*Back at the Party*
Sheridan was walking back to her friends when someone grabbed her by the arm. She whirled around expecting to see Luis, but it was Matt. She just stood there.
"Well aren't you going to say hello?"
"Hi."
"So whatcha up to these days? Oh that's right your a virgin you don't do much."
"Shut-up Matt you are such an jerk." She turned around to walk off but he grabbed her arm this time much more tighter and turned her back around.
"Uh-Uh you're not going anywhere."
"Yes she is going somewhere, she's going home." said a voice behind Sheridan she instantly knew it was Luis.
"Oh and I'd like to see you stop me." Matt replied.
Luis took the first blow to the lip. He felt a warm liquid ooze out. He touched it with his finger and saw blood. He ran at Matt with all the force in him. Matt flew backwards with Luis on top of him Luis hit him a couple of times in the stomach before Matt rolled Luis over and hit him in the eye and chest. Matt got up leaving Luis on the floor. He turned his back to smile at the crowd watching when suddenly he felt himself lunge face forward into the carpet. His eye brow began to bleed and he felt a strange feeling in his ribs. He couldn't move. Luis grabbed Sheridan, who was in shock that two guys had just fought over her, by the arm and pulled her out the door.
"Luis are you..."
"I'm fine, let's just get you home.
"On the way back Sheridan kept glancing at Luis who was staring straight at the road. She noticed that he had a huge bruise swelling up on his cheek and eye, and his lip was still bleeding.
When they finally reached Sheridan's house Sheridan had to beg for 5 minutes for Luis to please come in.
No one was at home and Sheridan drug Luis by the hand into the kitchen. He sat on the counter while Sheridan searched for Band-Aids and Peroxide. She finally found them and walked back to examine Luis's wounds. She could now see that he had several scratches on his arm and neck and she gently cleaned the scratches and put band-aids on the more serious ones. Then she slowly pulled his shirt off. She stared in amazement at his body. 'Oh my goodness whoa!' But she focused on the bruises that were forming. She went to the freezer and got some ice then placed it in a bag and put it on his chest. He winced at the coldness of it. She smiled as she watched him squirm.
"Be still would you."
"It's so cold."
"Just be still, baby."
"I am not a baby it is just cold."
"Okay whatever." She put the ice back on his chest this time he didn't move.
"Ohhh look whose big and tuff now."
He smiled as he watched her try to be sarcastic. She was so amazing to him.
"Hold that there." She handed him the ice pack.
"Now about your lip."
"Uh-huh?"
She got a wet paper towel and began to wipe his lip, but it wasn't working.
"Well I guess you are just going to have to wait for it to stop bleeding."
Luis started to put pressure on it.
"No don't do..."
To late. Luis had just made the cut bigger. Sheridan grabbed the wet paper towel and wiped the blood away.
She was so close to his lips that she could hear him breathing.
"Well can I do this to them to help them stop bleeding?" He said softly.
"What is it?"
"This." He inched forward and slowly began to kiss her for the very first time.
Chapter 5
"Luis...this isn't...good for...your...lips." Finally she managed to pull away.
"Oh yes it is." He pulled her back put she resisted.
"No," Sheridan said," Your lips cut up pretty bad and it could get infected."
"So.. it's worth it. And since when did you become a nurse?"
"Luis I don't want to hear any back talk just do as I say."
"Alright, Alright, Well I guess I should get..."He was interupted by a phone call.
"Hello."
"Is this Sheridan?"
"Yes this is her can I help you with something?"
"Yeah you and your new boytoy better watch your backs tonight because I'm ~cough~ Matt's pretty pissed. He bruised up his ribs pretty bad and his eyebrow is cut up pretty bad too."
"Okay well you tell Matt that me and my "Boytoy" aren't scared of him." She then hit the off button.
"So who was that?"
"Matt."
"I but you said tell Matt."
"Yeah it was Matt pretending to be someone else."
"What did he say to you?"
"That me and my new boytoy better watch our backs tonight. But I am not scared of Matt."
"Sheridan, nuh-uh you aren't staying alone tonight."
"Okay and why not?"
"Because I said so!"
"Luis I can take care of myself. I am not scared of Matt he's just bluffing."
"Sheridan, I just beat up the school jock in front of the senior class he's pissed off at us and he could do anything."
"Luis stop it. I can stay here alone besides my father's plane comes in tomorrow morning at 5:30 so he will be home by six."
"Sheridan, no I am going to stay here tonight with you. I'll sleep on the couch."
"Luis you are not staying..."
"Oh yes I am."
"But your mom will be worried about you."
He grabbed the phone out form her hand and called his mom.
"She's cool with it."
"Agggh! Your like a freakin' cop!"
"You know maybe that's what I'll do after college."
"You a cop. That's a good one Luis!"
"Whatever will you just get me a blanket and pillow?"
"No!"
"Sheridan, really, do you want me to tear this house up searching for a cover and pillow when you could do it for me?"
"No you get a bed. Infact you get my bed."
Chapter 6
"Uh Sheridan are you sure you want to do this tonight? I mean it won't even be romantic."
"Luis get your head out of the gutter for a moment ok? I meant you could sleep in my bed and I will sleep in my parents bed."
"Oh."
"God Luis, no I wouldn't have have sex with you tonight. When I finally doit it's going to be perfect."
"Well I am proud of ya for setting standards now would you please show me my room for the night."
She took him up stairs to her bed room. He was unfolding the covers when it suddenly hit him. He was about to sleep in Sheridan Crane's bed.
"Wow! I get to sleep in Sheridan Crane's bed tonight."
"Well aren't you special! You know you are the first guy to do that!"
"You meanI have the honor of being the first male into Sheridan's bed? To bad Sheridan Crane's not in it."
"Ha!Ha! Fun-ny!" She turned around to leave and was almost out the door when she felt the need to ask him a question.
"Luis?"
"Uh-huh?"He said as he got into bed.
"When was your first?"
"First?"
"You know your first, first."
"Oh, tenth grade, Madeline Peters."
"Wow she's like a whole year older than us!"
"Yeah I know but it wasn't love we both just wanted to do it. It wasn't great either."
"So does it get better?"
"Hell yeah. I was so nervous the first time but the second time I felt like a pro."
"You a pro?" She said as she sat down on the bed. "So like how many times have you?"
"Well aren't we nosy tonight?"
"Oh sorry, it's just..."
"No I was kidding. It's 6."
"Where any of them real love?"
"No. It was all just basically for fun."
"Oh how sad."
"Don't be it's ok."
"See that's why I want it to be real love when I finally do it."
"You know what Sheridan I think the next time I have sex it will be true love."
"Well I guess I better go to bed it's late. If you need any thing I am across the hall okay?"
"Okay, Night Sheridan."
"Night Luis."
The next time Sheridan woke up it was 12:30.
"Whoa I can't believe I slept that late."
She went down the hall to the bathroom to take her shower. When she opened the door it was so steamy. 'Doesn't he know to let the steam out.' She began to take of her clothes when she noticed that Luis had left his clothes on the floor. 'He doesn't even pick up his clothes' She placed her hand on the shower curtain when she suddenly felt a hand on top of hers. She flung back the curtain and there was Luis. She felt her mouth drop. There was Luis with no towel. Then it hit her she didn't have one on either.
Chapter 7
Sheridan and Luis were forzen for the next couple of seconds.Then Luis reached out and pulled Sheridan into the shower with him. His wet skin pressed against hers. He cupped his hands around her face and pulled it close to his. Then he gently pressed his lips against hers. She knew exactly what she was doing, she knew she didn't want to do it but she couldn't find the strength to break away. Sheridan ran her fingers through his dark, brown hair. Luis slowly pulled Sheridan and himself into the bottom of the tub. Sheridan felt the cold tub against her back and she squrimed and brought herself back to reality. She realized what she was about to go through with and she knew that this wasn't the right tifme or place.
"Luis."
"Mmmhmmm?"He said as he began to kiss her neck.
"Luis, stop."
"Why?"
"Luis please I'm just not comfortable with this I'm just not ready ok? Can you respect that?"
"Yeah I guess so, I guess I have no other choice." He said as he got up off of her.
"Thanks Luis."
"No problem, I mean you want it perfect and the shower is just not your idea of perfect."
She got up out of the tub and got a towel for her and Luis. She handed it to him.
"Thanks."
"Your welcome."
Luis left and Sheridan took her shower. When she was done she got dressed and went down stairs. Luis was sitting on the couch watching T.V.
"Whatcha whatching?"
"Some movie."He didn't look at her.
"Oh. Well can I watch?"
"Yeah I guess so. I mean this is your house." He glanced at her then did a double take. She was dressed to kill. Tight red leather capri pants, a black tube top and very pointy sandles.
She smiled as she watched his jaw flop down.
"Sheridan..."
"Get off that couch Luis were going on a road trip."
He got up she grabbed his hand and they headed for the door.
"But Sheridan," Luis said as he got into his car,"graduation is tommorrow."
"Just drive Luis, just drive."
"But I don't know where we are...."
"I'll give you the directions you just drive."
Chapter 8
Luis drove down the road he had a million questions running through his mind.
"Sheridan, where are we going?"
"Luis it's a surprise now just drive."
They had already left Harmony and were about to leave Caselton.
"Wait turn here."
Luis turned.
"So you wanna tell me why you are dressed like that?"
"So that you would get up off the couch. I knew if I came downstairs in a big t-shirt and shorts you wouldn't get up."
"Sheridan that's where you are wrong. What ever you wear I'll follow you."
She hit him on the shoulder in a very flirty way.
He looked over and smiled.
"It's true."
"Yeah okay what ever Luis. Oh make another turn there."
He turned and headed down a road that would take them to Cape Town. It was another good two hours before they got there.
"Okay we are here." Sheridan said.
"Well what's the point?"
"Quit being so impatient. Just park the car an follow me."
He parked the car. He went around and opened the door for her and she put her hand in his and led him around the corner and out to a field.
"A field, a field, Sheridan what's so great about a field?"
"Luis would you shut-up for one second and let me explain."
"Well."
"Okay see that tree over there?"
"Yeah." He was begining to get annoyed, but then he looked at Sheridan and everything was fine again, he really didn't mind to be with her.
"Well that's where my mom got pregnant with me."
"Sheridan do I really have to hear this, I mean it's personal and weird to talk about."
"Look, Luis let me finish." She put her hand on her hip.
'She's so cute when she's mad. Gonna have to do this more often.' He thought to himself.
"Okay my point. My mom got pregnant with me when she was 16. She married my dad because their parents made them. She told me once that she never really saw herself gettting married to my dad and it really bothered me that my parents weren't really in love. Well I mean they love each other, but really they don't. They don't have that love that makes you feel weak in the knees when you see each other. They don't fall in love with them all over again every time they see each others faces." Sheridan began to cry.
Luis moved closer and put his arms around her. She buried her head in his chest.
"It's ok Sheridan."
"And that's when I decided that I wanted to wait until I knew that I was with the person that completed me, that held the last piece to my puzzle."
"Sheridan it's okay. I understand. And I respect you so much for it."
Sheridan pulled away she was so embarressed(sp?).
"Luis just take me home ok?"
"Okay."
They got back to the car and it was already dark. They had only been driving 20 minutes when Luis felt really tired an Sheridan was already sleeping.
He pulled off at a small motel and woke Sheridan up.
"Sheridan?"
"Mmmhmm?"
"Look I am really tired an I don't think it's safe for me to drive so I am going to rent us a room."
"Okay."
They got out of the car and went inside.
The motel was old and run down, but it was the only place for miles.
They went to the front desk.
"Yeah we need 2 rooms."
"Well sorry to break it to you kids but we only got one room."
"Fine I sleep on the couch."
"Boy this ain't no 4 star hotel there ain't no couch."
"We'll take it." Sheridan said.
Luis looked at her in disbelief.
"Well here you go kiddies have a nice time." He handed them the keys and they went off to their room.
Chapter 9
Luis unlocked the door to reveal a pretty dumpy place. The bed was made up, but not great. The mattress was hard as a rock. The sheets were a faded blue. And the wall paper was canary yellow. There were torn, stained curtains. And the carpet was an ugly green.
"Man he wasn't lying when he said this place wasn't a four star hotel."
"Yeah I definatly agree with you there Luis."
"So I guess I take my place over here on the floor."
"Don't be silly Luis you are not sleeping on the floor you are sleeping in the bed."
"Sheridan you aren't going to sleep on the floor."
"I know I'm not. I'm sleeping in the bed too."
"What? Sheridan are you feeling ok?" He reached over and placed his hand on her forehead.
"Yeah," she said as she took his hand off her head,"never felt better."
"But..."
"But nothing Luis. Just get into bed and go to sleep would ya? I mean it's not like I was planning on doing anything with you."
He sat down on the edge of the bed adn took off his shoes and started to take off his pants and t-shirt than thought about it and got into bed with his clothes on.
"Luis I think it will be okay if you sleep in your boxers besides I need your t-shirt."
"Sheridan no..."
"Luis if you think I am sleeping in thight capri pants an shirt then you are just crazy."
"Fine here you go." He took of his shirt revealing all his muscles and Sheridan thought back to when she saw him in the shower. She smiled.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
"Nothing just laughing at uhhh the carpet."
"Oh... okay I guess I'lll believe that."
They both laid down in the bed each on the very edge of their side. The Sheridan scooted over some.
"Luis you can move off the side a little I know it's uncomfortable."
He moved over some.
"Luis I won't bite."
"How do I know that?"
"Well I guess you'll just have to trust me won't you?"
He moved closer.
Eventually they both fell asleep they had to get up early if they wanted to make it back for graduation.
Around 2 o'clock Luis woke up and looked over at Sheridan. She looked so beautiful in the moon light. He put his arm around her.
Sheridan opened her eyes when she felt him touch her, smiled and went back to sleep in the arms of the man she knew she was going to fall deeply in love with over the summer.
Chapter 10
The next morning Luis and Sheridan got up early and took their showers, with no interruptions. Then they went down stairs to find some place to eat breakfast.
"Hey sir, do you know some place we can stop an eat in this town?"
"Well, uh sorry but the dinner closed 3 months ago, they said it wasn't up to standards. Geeze they only got a 2 that ain't to shabby is it?"
Sheridan held back a giggle."No I can't believe they shut them down. What a shame." She said trying not to sound to sarcastic.
"Well Is there any place in town to get somthing to eat?"
"All that's open at this hour is the K-Mart."
"I guess that we can look to see if they have anything. Thanks mister. So how much do we owe you?"
"$31"
"Okay here you go," he reached in his pocket for his wallet when he saw Sheridan put her hand out towards the man. She was paying. She turned around at Luis looking proud. He smiled at her. She grabbed his hand and pulled him out the door. When they got out side she pulled him in for a kiss. She pulled him next to her face and put her lips against his. She let her tounge slide in. He cupped his hands around her face. Then when she was satisfied she pulled away.
"Whoa, what was that all about?"
"I don't know you just looked so cute. That I had to kiss you."
"Well I like what you had to do."
They got inthe car and drove down to the K-Mart.They got out and went inside, they didn't find anything to eat but soem one told them there was a small, standard-meeting, dinner 10 miles out of town. They were walking out when they walked by the clothes section.
"Luis?"
"Yeah?"
"Can we get some clothes?"
"Sheridan, I really don't think..."
"Leeeeewwwwwweeessss, pahlese" She tried to sound pathetic.
He knew what she was doing, but he had to give in."Okay, I supo..."
"Whoohoo!" She was off before he could finish.
"Have you ever shopped at K-Mart?" He asked.
"No, but you gotta start some time."
Finally she picked out a light blue tank top and shorts with some black flip-flops.
"Done. This is so much more comfortable."
They paid for her clothes then they stopped at the dinner and picked up 2 bacon, egg, and cheese biscuts.
On the way hom Sheridan was so bubbly. Luis had never seen her this way. They rode home blaring they radio nad Sheridan sang really loud, and soon she had Luis doing the same. Then they talked about all kinds of stuff. He had no idea how smart she was. He din't know that she was Harmony High's Valadictorian.
Eventually they made it back to Harmony. He dropped her off at her house. She gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks for the trip."
"Yeah I had fun." Then she ran up the walk to her door waved and dissapeared inside.
~2 Hours Later~
When Luis arrived at the school. He thought about going to find Sheridan but then he remembered that she had to practice her speech. So he went and found Hank, Jeff, and Chad.
"Hey, good buddy," Hank said,"So hows life with Miss. Crane?"
"Oh it's so great. She's nothing like you would think.I'll introduce you guys to her after graduation."
"Really?"
"Yeah sure, but only if you can keep your jaws up. Don't go looking all googly-eyed at my woman."
"You're woman?"
"I'm just kidding. We aren't that serious yet. But someday we'll go out."
"You are so lucky."
"She can't resist the Lopez-Fitzgerald charm."
"Yeah whatever."
It was time for them to begin to make their way to the football field.
"See ya when you're through with high school boys."
"Ahhh I can't wait."
Graduation began and Sheridan got up to make her speech. Luis was so amazed at her. He was listening to her speech at first, but then he began to think about something and forgot to listen. He aslomost missed his name being called out, but Katie Logan hit him on hte arm when she was getting up to get her diploma, and that brought him back to reality. As he walked acroos at Sheridan she winked at him andwispered 'Way to go.'
After the ceremony he went to look for her. He saw her with her cirle of friends. He walked up and touched her on the shoulder.
"What!" She turned around annoyed.
"Whao sorry."
"Yeah you should be, can't you see I'm trying to hold a conversation with my friends."
"What is your problem. I just wanted to tell you something important."
"Well, Can't it wait?"
"No, it's about us..."
"What us? Luis I haven't even known you a week. There is no us."
"You I don't even know who you are. I'll see ya around." He left and Sheridan looked back at her friends who were in shock by what she had just done. She had done it to impress them, but they weren't impressed. She turned around and ran behind the field to the swimming pool. She burst into tears.
"What have you done Sheri?"
She looked at her reflection in the pool.
'Who are you trying to be?'
She put her head in her hands and cried. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Luis," she turned around,"hey..."
Chapter 11
"Luis," Sheridan turned around, "hey..."
"Hey," he interrupted her, "but it's Matt not Luis. I'll forgive you this time." He bent down to try to give her a kiss, but she moved.
"That's not nice Sheri. Now give me a kiss, aren't you happy to see me?"
"Oh yeah thrilled."
"Now give me a little peck."
"In your dreams, if you were the last person on earth I wouldn't kiss you."
"Ohhhhh, that got me, really it did," he placed his hands over his heart, "good try though."
"Matt, would you just get the heck away from me, I'm not feeling to well."
"Yeah that jerk Luis getting to ya?"
"Matt, the only jerk here is you, and I am the one who caused all this."
"Oh I am sorry here." He went to hug here but she threw here arm up hitting him in the chest.
He grabbed her by the arm. "Uh-uh, don't think so, now you're gonna get it." He grabbed her by the wasit and pulled her close. "I'm gonna get you back."
"Well what if I won't take you back?"
"Oh no not that I don't won't you either, you're a wasit, well maybe not for long. You see I'm not going to take you back I'm going to get you back. You know for what you and Luis did to me at the party."
He pushed her down and sat himself on her. "Say Au revior to your precious virginty. Because I'm gonna take it."
Sheridan let out a wimper an a cry. "Luis!"
"It won't do you any good. He's gone."
Sheridan closed her eyes then she felt Matt fall sideways.
She slowly opened her eyes. Somebody was standing above her.
"Please don't Matt."
"Sheridan?"
"Luis?"
"Yeah. Are you okay?" He reached out his hand and helped her up.
"Yeah," she looked down at Matt he was knocked out adn his forehead was bleeding, "but I don't think he is."
"Well, who cares, let's just get out of here before he wakes up."
"Okay."
They ran to his car.
"Thanks."
"It was nothing."
"No, you know that's twice you've saved me from Matt."
"I would have done it for anyone."
"Luis, listen I am really sorry about what happened earlier. I was trying to impress my friends, but obviously they weren't. It was really stupid of me. And I can only beg and pled so much. So will you forgive me?"
He looked at her. Her eyes said it all. She was truly sorry.
"Yeah. So where do where we go from here?"
"How about we start over. You know we didn't meet very friendly."
"I like that idea."
"Hi I'm Sheridan."
"Hi I'm Luis."
"Nice to meet you Luis."
"You to Sheridan, so you need a ride home?"
"Yeah I do."
Chapter 12
Sheridan and Luis rode home in silence neither of them knew what to say.
Sheridan turned on the radio to stop the silence.

Sheridan and changed the channel. She loved NSYNC, but it's not the song she wanted him to hear.
"Hey! I was kinda gettin into that song."
"Well, I really don't feel like hearing it."
"Ok. That's cool with me."
"Luis?"
"Yeah?"
"Why'd you come back?"
"I had this feeling you were in trouble an I needed to help you."
"Oh."
"No, Sheridan it's not like that! I really wanted to come back to you and, and..."
"Shhh," she placed her index finger over his lip, "You said it all when you said you wanted to come back to me."
He looked at her and smiled.
"Well, we're here."
"Yeah."
"Listen Luis, I have to fly down to Atlanta tommorrow, and go to Athens to check out this college, UGA. I'm not going to be back until wednesday. So when I get back I am going to spend all my time with you and we better have something fun planned for us to do wednesday night when I get back. Ok?"
"Yes mam!"
She leaned over and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
"Night Luis, and Thanks again."
"Night, see ya wednesday. Have a good trip. And your welcome."
He watched as she walked up the walk to her door.
'Yup she's the one you've spent your whole life looking for Luis. She's the one.'
Chapter 13
Sheridan looked at her watch. It wouldn't be long until her plane was arriving.
"Ladies and Gentlemen we will be arriving at Boston's Logan International Airport in 15 minutes. The captain asks that you please fasten your seatbelt. Thank you."
'Yes that's 15 minutes closer to Luis!'
She hadn't realized how muched she would miss him.
Her plane landed and she ran over every single person to get to Luis.
She looked around for him, and finally found him, sleeping in a chair.
She walked over and sat in his lap.
Luis jumped when he felt someone sitting in his lap. He opened his eyes to see Sheridan staring at him.
"Hey!" He said groggly.
"Hey, sleepy head!"
"Sorry I have been here forever and I got kinda bored just sitting here."
"Aww, I'm sorry, that I made you wait."
"Don't worry about it, I got a nice nap in and I woke up to the most beautiful face."
"Luis, you're so lame, that's the worst line ever."
"Geeze, Sheridan you really know how to knock a man down."
"Man? Who said anything about a man?"
"Sheridan!"
"I'm just kidding, oh I'm so glad to see you!"
"Me too! It was awful not having you here."
"How sweet! I missed you too!"
She gave him a quick kiss on the lips and then jumped off his lap.
"Let's go home."
"Okay."
He grabbed her bag and they headed out to his car.
"I have something really special planned for tonight."
"Oh tell me what it is."
"No, it's a surprise!"
"Oh I hate surprises."
"You do?"
"No, I love them I just hate wating to find out what they are, I'm Curious."
"Well my little Curious George, I have a special surprise and it won't be long."
He drove them back to Harmony. He didn't stop anywhere Sheridan had thought he would. He finally drove off on to a dirt road that lead them into the woods, then stopped the car.
"Luis, why are we stopped in the middle of the woods? Oh no! Are you out of gas? Great we are stranded in the woods with no gas. Help! Is anyone out there?"
"Sheridan would you hush, we are not out of gas I brought you out here on purpose."
"On purpose! You brought me out into the woods as a joke! Luis, this joke is not funny! There was no surprise! Ohhhh!"
"Sheridan shut-up for just one moment. What I was trying to say was that this is where I used to hangout as a kid. It was the kid's hangout."
"A hangout? I bet the place was really swanky!"
"Hey don't insult Club Lo-Fitz. This place was the place to be!"
"I bet."
"It was!"
"Okay what ever, so let me guess you owned the club right?"
"That's right me and my brother Antonio, were the managers and we made Theresa be the waitress."
"Ahhh I bet she was so cute."
"Yeah but my point was to show you this place."
He took her hand and guided her around "boobie traps". They finally made it to a small fort with three walls and a roof. It had three tables and three chairs.
"Welcome to Club Lo-Fitz!"
"This place is so neat Luis! Did you build it yourself?"
"Me, my brother and my papa."
"You guys did a good job. So why did you bring me here?"
"I don't know I just thought it would be a really cool spot to have a picnic."
"A picnic! Oh how sweet!"
They sat down ate lunch and talked about everything. Sheridan told Luis about the college, and Luis told Sheridan some crazy stories he had about Club Lo-Fitz.
Sheridan was laughing at one of Luis stories when it hit her.
She felt so comfortable around Luis. She hoped that this realtionship would turn into something more.
Chapter 14
Luis and Sheridan had gone out every where for the past month. They had gone to the SeaScape 4th of July gala and fireworks, to the movies, they went for long walks in Lighthouse Park, and once Luis took Sheridan shopping in Boston, but he said she made him go flat broke and they never did that one again.
Sheridan was now getting ready to go to a new club in Boston with Luis. She was really excited. She knew that tonight was going to be big.
She ran her fingers over thousands of dresses, and shirts, but finally she found a pair of leather pants and a tight pink tanktop.
'Yes! This is so perfect.'
Then she rushed off to the bathroom. She looked around for her straightner, and finally found it under a magazine. She straightend her hair out as flat as she could, she had just gotten layers cut into it this afternoon.
"Oh I hope Luis likes this"
Then her door bell rang.
"Oh no, lip-gloss where are you?"
She found it in her toothpast and toothbrush drawer.
"Note to self, clean up your bathroom!"
Sheridan quickly applied the gloss being ever so careful, to much and she would look like Luis's yuonger sister Theresa after she had played withthe make-up.
"Another note to self, Help Theresa with the lip-gloss, when she gets older people will think she's spread chicken grease all over her lips."
She ran down her stairs as fast as she could, adn opened the door.
"Hey, whoa you look amazing Sheridan!"
"Thanks," she looked him over,"not to shabby yourself."
"Well we better get going, Boston is a 45 minute drive."
"Okay!"
They got to Boston around 10:00. When they got in the club they danced and mingled with the people. They had been at the club about 2 hours when Luis pulled Sheridan aside.
"Luis!"
"Huh?!"
"I can hardly hear you the music's so loud!"
Suddenly as if on cue the music stopped and changed to a slow song.
"Sheridan there's something I need to ask you."
"Oh me too!"
"You go first."
"Okay, my parents have a beach house up on Cape Cod, do you wanna go next weekend? It's will be just me and you, all alone."
"Ohhhh, I like the sound of that, sure, now let me sk you something."
"Go ahead."
"Sheridan they time that we have spent together has been so wonderful, and now I think we should spend time toghther as a couple."
"If your asking me to marry you then my answer is no,"
Luis shifted his position," No Sheri..."
"But if your asking me to become your girlfriend then my asnwer is...Yes!"
Luis smiled. "Oh Sheri..."
She pulled him in close for a kiss. "Shut-up and kiss me."
He obeyed her orders.
When they were through, Sheridan smiled and grabbed his hand a pulled him back onto the dance floor.
She knew everything would fall into place just as it should.
Chapter 15
Sheridan and Luis arrived at the beach house at around nine. They were both exahausted after the long ride. Sheridan walked into the house and waited for Luis to comein with their luggage. She waited and waited, finally she walked out to check on him.
"Luis?"
"Yeah?"
"What is taking you so long?"
"Your suit-case is so heavy, I thought you said we were only staying a few days, you have enough clothes to last a year in here."
"I do not! I have just enough." She walked aound the car to help him.
She grabbed his duffel bag. "Here now I'm helping."
"Thanks." He smiled at her.
She loved his smile and everytime he smiled her face lit up and she would grin back at him.
They made into the house and Luis sat the luggage down then took a look around the house.
It was huge with tall beige walls. In the living room there was a fireplace, an a huge window over looking the beach, there was a comfy leather couch with matching chairs and a huge big screen t.v.
Luis couldn't get over the house, he wandered through out the downstairs and ever room was beautiful and tastefully decorated.
"Sheridan this place is amazing. It is so beautiful."
"My grandmother decorated the whole house, she loved this place."
"Well this place is absolutly wonderful, so where ae the beds I am so tired."
"Follow me."
They walked up the stairs, as they walked they talked.
"There are three bed rooms," Sheridan explained, "one has two twin beds, one has two queen beds, and then there's the master bedroom with the kingsize bed, and that's where I am sleeping tonight."
"Well aren't you nice to your guest?"
"Hey... I am super nice to you." She turned around to face him.
He looked at her. She was so perfect. So bubbly, so, so everything. He moved closer and pulled her close his lips met hers and he kissed her, the kiss gave him a new feeling, one he had never felt before. Sheridan felt it too.
Chapter 16
Luis kissed Sheridan with everything he had in him. He wanted to go so much further, but he knew that she wasn't ready. Not just yet, but he knew it wouldn't be long.
Sheridan slowly pulled away, and looked into his eyes. She searched for an answer, a suggestion, anything to help her sort through her emotions.
Luis looked at Sheridan's eyes they were moving back and forth. He new he had to say something.
"Sheridan it's ok, when ever your ready, I'm not in this relationship for sex, I'm in it for everything else."
She smiled. He was just to good to be true.
"Luis, you are absolutly perfect. I Love You."
Sheridan froze. She had said it. She had said those three little words. 'Oh no! What if he doesn't respond, what if he laughs, what if he...'
"I love you to Sheridan."
They had both said it. It was a first for both of them.
"What?"
"I love you Sheridan."
"Oh, Luis," She threw her arms around him. She began to cry.
"Hey," he wiped a tear that was making it's way down her face, "don't cry. Then I'll start."
She laughed, the sight of Luis crying was kind of funny.
"So I guess you wanna see your room?"
"Yeah."
"Well first let me show you my room."
They walked down the hall to the door to her room. She turned the doornob, but the door wouldn't open.
"Damn it's locked. Well I guess I can sleep in the queen bed."
She walked down the hall to the next bedroom, but it's door was locked too.
"Well, I guess that my little rugrat cousin's must have locked the doors when they left last summer. Let's try the last room."
She went to the door and it actually opened.
"Yes, a room an it has two...," She looked there was only one twin size bed, "beds."
"Well your realtives are really nice to this place," he walked over to where the other bed should have been and found a peice of the bed and a spring. "looks like they jumped on the bed and it broke."
"Oh they drive me crazy sometimes."
"I'm used to it Miguel drives me crazy all the time."
"Well I guess that we have to sleep with each other again."
"Fine by me, as long as you don't do anything sneaky."
She hit him with her pillow. "I'm not sneaky!"
"Okay you aren't sneaky, now can we just go to sleep?"
"Yeah I suppose, but I have to change into my night gown. Oh and sorry to bust your bubble "Mr. Commando", but you have to wear boxers tonight."
She left the room and he slid his pants off an got into bed with his boxers on. He was lying there when she walked back in wearing a silk lavender night gown. He couldn't take his eyes away form her. She looked perfect.
She hopped into bed. The bed was so small that there was no spare room between them. She lay down beside him. His arm was touching hers and his hand was right beside her leg. She felt a little un-easy this close to him. She finally managed to go to sleep.

Sheridan lay on the beach letting the sun soak onto her back. She was lying there almost asleep when she felt a soft kiss on her back.
"Mmmhhmm, Luis."
The kisses continued.
Finally he reached her neck and he rolled her over. She completly forgot that she had loosened her top, and it fell off
Luis looked at Sheridan's breast. His left hand reached out for one of them and he gently massaged it.
Sheridan groaned. She had never felt like this before.
Luis slowly slid his other hand down her waist and rested it on her hip.
He looked deep into her eyes and saw that she wanted more. She needed him.

Sheridan lay beside Luis in the sand with the water splashing their feet. The moon shown down on them and they made fell asleep in each others arms. It was more perfect than she had ever imagined. ~*~*
Luis shifted in the bed and knocked Sheridan out of her dream.
She awoke to find herself in the bed again.
Luis was staring at her.
She didn't have to move far over to begin kissing him. Their kisses began slowly and then became more passionate. Sheridan knew that after the dream that she was ready.
Luis slid his hands around the back of her nightgown and unzipped her night gown. Her hands roamed down to his boxers and she slid them down his legs. Her breath stopped when she felt how close he was to her.
"Sheridan it's okay, just breath."
"I'm so scared."
"Just trust me."
She relaxed and took a breath.
When it was over Sheridan smiled. She felt so strange yet so alive. She was where she wanted to stay forever. Wrapped up in Luis's arms. If only the summer didn't have to end and she didn't have to leave for college. She didn't know what was going to happen with their relationship, but she would never forget The Summer.
