Chapter 1
Hal Freeman walked up the walk to the Lopez Fitzgerald house. He was nervous because he had no idea how Luis would react. In the two months since Sheridan Crane was murdered Hal had had no contact with anyone in Harmony. He was locked in a safe house to take care of some witnesses that were going to testify against the drug cartel. But yesterday they had caught Roger, and the case was closed. Now all that was left was the trial which would be happening in two days. This was why he had to see Luis. Pilar was sitting at the kitchen table thinking about how much had happened since Sheridans death. As much as she could tell nothing good came out of it. All of her children were in pain, and she had lost another one. Miquel had found out some awful things about Kay, and had lost his best friend. Thresea hadnt spokent to Ethan since the murder, and spend most of her time crying in her room, and Luis.... Ding Dong. Pilar sighed and got up to answer the door.
Hello, may I help you? She asked to man standing on her doorstep.
Yes, I am here to see Luis. I am Agent Freeman and I have some news he will be most interested in hearing. Freeman watched as the womens eyes filled up with tears. I am sorry I didnt mean to upset you. If you want I will come back later to talk to Luis.
No that wont help. You see my son no longer lives here. I am not sure were he is living right now. He moved out the day after Sheridans funeral.
Hal was shocked by this news. The Luis he remembered had loved his family and it had seemed to him that they were the only people that could compete with Sheridan for his love. He had even left Sheridan alone that night because it would indirectly help his family. If he made detective then his family would have more money and maybe his mother wouldnt have to work for the Cranes.
I am very sorry, I didnt realize that Sheridans death would have effected him that much that he had to leave town.
It had nothing to do with Sheridans death, well maybe indirectly. Pilar explained. Things happened after her death and Luis felt he couldnt be a part of our family any more. So I am sorry I cant help you find him. But if you really need to talk to him Sam Bennett has his address and phone number in case there is an emegency.
Thank you. Hal watched as the women closed the door. I wonder what happened to make Luis leave he wondered.
Sam Bennett was filling out reports at his desk when he saw Agent Freeman come inside the station.
Agent Freeman, what are you doing here. I didnt think Harmony had anything of interest to the FBI anymore.
Actually I am here to close a case. Roger from the Drug Cartel has been caught and I need to find Luis. I uderstand from his mother that you know where I can find him.
Sams face became sullen. Yes I have his address, but I was told by Luis that I was to give it to no one unless it was a real emergency, and that I have to call him myself and tell him what happened. So you will have to tell my why you need to speak to him and let me call him.
Hal didnt like this much, but he decided that enough time had been wasted in the last two months, and that the sooner he found Luis the sooner he and everyone else involved could get one with their lives.
Sam what I am about to tell you must be kept confidentional for the time being. In a couple of days it will be all over the press but until then I have been asked to make sure this stays under wraps. Do you understand? Sam nodded. Ok. Sheridan Crane is alive and well. She has been is a safe house, but now that the drug cartel is caught, she wishes to come out. She is the one who asked to this be kept quiet for a couple of days so that her and Luis have a chance to catch up, and be together before the press starts hounding her. So can you please call Luis and tell him that Sheridan will be there tonight.
Sam was in shock. He didnt say anything for at least five minutes. Then he slowly got a smile on his face. Oh My God! Luis is going to be so happy. Do you know that he never really belived she was dead. He told me that he can still feel when she is happy or when she was sad. He even phoned me once and told me that Sheridan was very mad. He said that he could feel her anger and that he wanted to calm her down, or even argue with her.
Yes Sheridan was very angry alot of the time. I was with her for that last two months and she did have every emotion imaginable. Believe me, when she was angry I would have given anything to have Luis there to calm her down. Although with those two, I suspect they would have started arguing themselves.
You are right about that. They had some wild arguements. I really want to see Luiss face when he sees her. So why dont we take the helicopter to Boston. That is where he is right now. So go get Sheridan and we will fly there.
Hal nodded and said he would met Sam out back at the chopper landing. And please dont let anyone know where you are going. And keep all of your officers inside because we cant let anyone see her yet.
Hal left and went to his car. Sheridan, Sam knows where Luis is and he will take us to him right now. We will be there in about an hour.
Thank God. I dont know how much longer I could stand this Hal. I am so nervous. I almost get to see him. Sheridan got out of the car. She was almost giddy with excitement. The last two months had been hell, and she was so happy they were almost over. She hoped Luis wouldnt be mad, and that they could pick up right where they left off. She wondered why Luis had left. Hal had said that Pilar hadnt told him, just that it had nothing to do with her death. She hoped he was alright.
Hal, did Sam say if Luis is happy, or that he is alright.
He didnt say Sheridan, although I gathered that Luis will be a hundred percent better once you are with him again.
Sheridan smiled and thoought that she would also me a hundred percent better once she saw him also.
They walked around that back to the chopper pad, and saw Sam. Sheridan! Sam cried and ran up to give her a big hug. Sheridan hugged back although she was a little shocked. She barely knew Sam. Sam laughed when he saw her expression. Lets get you going so that Luis will be happy again. I miss hearing him laugh.
They all got onto the chopper and started off towards Boston.
Luis opened the door to his apartment and let out a sigh. Every time he opened his door he expected to she Sheridan waiting for him. Like the way it was supposed to be. Instead all that he saw was a fairly plain apartment, deviod of decortations or anything that made it personal. He hadnt taken the time to do any decortating. He told his buddies that sometimes came over to watch a game that he hadnt had time. He was tring to make dective on the police force, and he was also taking night courses at the university so that he could get his law degree. His long time dream. But it wasnt time that stopped him from decortating. It was that he still believed that Sheridan was alive and he wanted to wait and see how she wanted to decortate. As many times as he told himself that she was dead, he ust couldnt shake the feeling that she was alive. Until that feeling went away he knew he would never move on with his life. He went to his fridged and grabbed a beer, and sat down at his kitchen table. He had no sooner opened the paper, when his buzzer beeped.
Who is it?
Sheridan almost started crying when she heard his voice. It sounded sad, and dull, almost like he had stopped living. Its me Luis. Sam. Open up I have someone to see you. Its important.
Luis was puzzeled. Sam hadnt come up in the two months since he had moved here. Sure he called all the time, but he had never come to visit. He wondered who Sam could have brought with him that would like to see him. He knew it wouldnt be his family because Sam wouldnt do that to him. He thought about it.
Come on buddy buzz me in. You will want to see this person. And we are getting impatient so buzz me up already.
BUZZZZZ.
Sam opened the door and held it open. Hal walked through and then looked back at Sheridan. She was literly shaking.
Sheridan you have been waiting for this moment for two months. Come on.
I am nervous Hal. What if he is mad. What if he doesnt want me anymore. I never even thought that he may have moved on with his live. It has been two months. Maybe he has a girlfriend, and I will just be a compliction that he doesnt really want. She started to go on but Sam stopped her.
Sheridan. He hasnt moved on, he still feels that same, and trust me, you will be a very welcome complication. Then with his hand on her back he pushed her through the door and onto the elevator.
Luis opened his door and waited to see who Sam brought. If he was stupid enogh to bring any member of his family, he had no intention of letting them into his apartment, so he would wait in the doorway, watching the evelvator.
Sheridan watched the number jump. Floor Two, Three, Four, then finally five. She couldnt stop herself from shaking and the calming hands that both Sam and Hal had on her arm was doing nothing to calm her down. Ding. The elevator stopped and the doors opened. And there he was.
Luis watched as the doors opened. He saw her. She was right there. She was walking out of the elevator. He shook his head and thought for sure he was going crazy. He rubbed his eyes. No she was still there. The hallway was deadly silent. Hal and Sam waited and said nothing. Luis started walking towards her. He needed to touch her. He need to know that she was real. Sheridan was thinking the same thing. They walked towards each other until they were almost touching. Luis slowly reached out and touched her face. He pulled away quickly. Almost like he had been burned. Sheridan slowly reached up and cupped his face in her hand. It was then the Luis knew it was real. They both had tears running down their face, and neither could believe that they were together again. Luis linked thier fingers like he always did, and pulled her towards him. He smiled and then kissed her. He kissed her like it was the first time, and he kissed her like it was the last. Sheridan kissed him back in the same manner. The both had come home.
Luis couldnt believe it, she was alive, and in his arms, and he swore she was never leaving them again. He ran his tounge along her bottom lip and smiled when she moaned. She opened her mouth and he thrust inside. Sheridan teased his tounge with hers, and smiled against his mouth. Any doubts she had disappeared and know all that she could think of was that she was with the man of her dreams again, and she was never leaving. Hal and Sam watched and realized that they were fogotten. Hal blushed as he watched Luis hands start to wonder.
Sam we are not going to break them up anytime soon, but if we dont get them inside his apartment, then I am going to have to arrest them for luid acts in public. Sam laughed at this and looked over at the two. They hadn't changed positions. They didnt hear Hal and Sam suspected that they wouldnt hear anything until they wanted to, which he suspected wouldnt be until much later. He walked up to them and slowly pushed them both through the door of Luis apartment. Then he closed the door.
So Hal do you feel like dinner? The two men left, deciding to come back in a couple of hours.
Sheridan and Luis hadnt noticed that they were now in his apartment. They didnt notice anything except each other. No words had been spoken yet. Sheridan ran her hands over Luis back and longed to feel the skin underneth his shirt. She reached for the buttons and started to undo them. She looked up and started into Luis eyes. They held so much love she almost fainted.
Instead she gave a small smile and contiued on with the buttons. Once they were all the way undone she pushed his shirt off his sholders and kissed his chest. Luis couldnt take anymore and brought her face up to his lips and kissed her hard. He thrust his tongue inside and shivered when she moaned against his mouth. He ran his hands down her sides to the bottom of her sweater and pulled it over her head. He steped back to look at her. She shivered as his gaze ran over her breasts that were covered in a lace bra. Then suddenly the bra wasnt there and his lips were on her breasts. He sucked on her nipple and was delighted by the sound that escaped her lips. He nicked her with his teeth and felt her shiver. He began kissing his way down her stomack and lingered at her naval, while he slowly lowered the zipper on her skirt. He let it fall to the floor. She was left standing in her lace panties. She gasped as his fingers ran around the top of the waist, she had never felt more alive then she did at this momemt. Luis slowly lowered her panties and helped her step out of them. Then he picked her up and carried her to the couch. He would have liked the bed but knew that neither of them could make it that far. He layed her down of the couch but allowed her to undo his belt. She popped his button of his pants and then lowered the zipper over his erection. She leaned up and layed an opened mouth kiss on his stomach, and let it linger while she pulled his pants down his legs. Once that was done he stepped out of them and she watched her hands as they ran along his boxers and then lowered them. Luis grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head as he lowered himself on top of her. He reach between them and slid his finger through the curls between her legs. He slid two fingers deep inside her and kissed her as she arched of the couch, silently begging him. He got the message and pushed her knees apart, and then slowly entered her. They both got tears in their eyes as he thrust into her. He stayed still for a moment and they looked into each others eyes. They both had looks of love in their eyes, and tears bleared their vision. Luis started to move slowly, savoring every moment. Sheridan closed her eyes as the pleasure started to build, but opened them when it burst. Luis let go at the same time, and wrapped his arms around her and held her while waiting for the pleasure to stop.
Afterwords, as she lay on top of his chest listen to his heart beat, she spoke the first words. I have never been happier than I am at this moment.
Chapter 2
Luis hugged Sheridan tighter, and tried to speak. It meant so much to him that she felt that and he couldnt find the words to tell her how he feels. He felt so strongly for her words didnt seem to be enough, so he kept it simple.
I love you Sheridan. He watched as her eyes filled up with tears and she squeezed her arms tighter around him. I love you to Luis. More than you can imagine.
Oh I have a very good imagination Sheridan. Do you want so proof. Because you should know that I plan on keeping you in this bed for a very long time. And if we have to get out of it, you are never leaving my arms.
Oh thats practical Luis. What about work, or when I want to shop for sexy lingere, or you want a night out with the guys, or...
Luis cut her off with a kiss. A long slow kiss that showed her just how much he loved her. Ok so it is not that practical. How bought this. Every night for the rest of our lives we will sleep in the same bed. I never want to go to sleep or wake up without you in my arms. Is that more practical for you Miss Crane?
Sheridan smiled as she thought of waking up each morning in his arms, and going to sleep each night with him there. Yes Officer that sounds perfect. I dont think I could sleep anywhere but in your arms again. She leaned up and kissed him. She meant it to be a short kiss, but Luis started to nibble on her bottom lip and they soon got carried away again.
Luis was trailing wet kisses along Sheridans stomach when the buzzer for the door rang.
Luis maybe we should get that, its probaly Sam and Hal.
Oh Sheridan, come on they will leave, they left before. Luis begged. And to punctuate his begging he started kissing her breasts. The buzzer went again. Sheridan was almost tempted to ignore it as she felt Luis kissing her nipples, but she knew Hal had things that needed to be said. She pulled Luis face up to hers, gave him a long lingering kiss that had them both moaning, and then pushed him off the bed.
THUD
Sheridan! What was that for?
Get dressed Luis. We have to talk to Hal. Arent you even a little curious as to where I was, and what happened.
Luis pulled on a t-shirt and jeans then went over and wrapped his arms around Sheridan. No. I dont care what happened. All that I care about is that you are here, in my arms, and that you are never going anywhere again. I love you, and whatever happened is over. I want to forget the last two months and think only about today and the future. The one we will have together.
Sheridan smiled and layed her head on his chest. As wonderful as all of that sounds, and believe me it is exactly what I want to, Hal has to explain everything to you. And think, this way I wont have to explain everything later. Anywase there is one thing that Hal has to tell you and Sam that I dont think you will like. He was going to tell you awile ago, but I wanted to be there in case you needed me.
Sheridan, I always need you. For now and forever. Luis kissed her forhead, lets go let them in.
Luis buzzed them in, opened his door, then pulled Sherdian to the couch, and sat down with her on his lap. Sheridan nuzzeled her face into his neck, and smelled his colonge. She had missed that smell.
Sheridan, Luis. Did we leave you enough time to get reaquainted? Did Sheridan tell you what happened Luis? Hal asked.
Both Sheridan and Luis started blushing. In their minds Hal could have left them for forever and they wouldnt have minded.
No Hal I didnt explain what happened. We didnt get around to it. It never came up. Sheridan was beet red now, and since she had lived with Hal for two months, she knew he would ask more questions. She buried her face back in Luis neck, and left him to answer the questions.
What do you mean it never came up? Sam asked amazed. Luis you always have to solve the mystery, you hate leaving things unanswered. What could possible have stopped you from asking what happened?
Sam, I didnt ask because I dont care. I honestly dont care. All that I care about is the Sheridan is alive, and she is in my arms. The rest doesnt matter.
Good answer baby, Sheridan whispered in his ear. Luis smiled and kissed her quickly on the lips. I know, I am brilliant.
Sheridan just poked him in the stomach. Alright mister ego, whatever you say. They both laughed.
Sorry to interupt Hal said. But unfortunatly the past does matter. Luis I know you and Sheridan want nothing more than to get on with your lives, but in order to do that, we have to settle the past. So I will explain what happened as quickly as possible, and then tell you what will be happening now. Is this alright with everyone?
They all nodded. Luis just wanted this over and done with. Sheridan wanted the same thing. Only Sam seemed at all interested in what Hal was going to be saying.
The night that I came to Sheridans cottage, Sheridan had no idea as to what was going on. She didnt know until we went into the kitchen to get the coffee. That was when I explained everything to her. We had found out who the cartel had hired for a hitman, but we could arrest him yet. We needed him to led us to Roger and Pierre. We didnt know if this guy would have come to are side, and have a set up, so we didnt ask. Instead I warned Sheridan as to what was happening, gave her a bullet proof vest to put on, and she took a drug that would slow her heartrate and breathing to almost a stop so it looked like she was dead. When the hitman came in, and shot her the drug still hadnt taken effect, so Sheridan had to talk to her assialant until it did. Once it took effect, and the hitman thought she was dead, he left. Thats where we came in.
Wait, Luis said. All of this doesnt explain the blood, or the body I saw in the coffin at the funeral, and who was the hitman?
The bullet proof vest had fake blood packets on the outside. They would burst whenever something hit it. The body at the funeral was Sheridan, she just had the drugs again. And yes we know who the hitman is. Hal said. HE said the last part hestinly, he knew how Luis and Sam were going to react. Sheridan tightened her hold on Luis. She knew what was coming, and she wanted to offer whatever comfort she could. She had had two months to deal with the fact that one of her friends had tried to kill her, and would have succeeded had the FBI not found out first. She knew that this would hit Luis espessial hard. Luis, Sam, I know that what I am about to tell you will shock you, and you will be angry and hurt, but please try to stay calm. The hitman the drug cartel was a local. It seems that he had done some things in his past that he wasnt to proud of, and he didnt want anyone in Harmony to find out about them. The Drug Cartel threatened to expose them to his family unless he killed Miss Crane, so he agreed. The man was Hank Bennett.
Both Sam and Luis sat there stunned. Sam was the first to react. Where is he now? He asked Hal.
He is in Washington with the FBI. He is turning states evidence and giving testimony against the cartel, for a pardon of all of his crimes. He will be told that he is to never contact Miss Crane again, and to stay away from her.
I would like to see him Hal. He is my brother. Hal nodded, and promised that the day after tomorrow he would bring Sam. Luis still hadnt said anything. Sheridan was rubbing her hands up and down his arms, trying to calm him. She knew what he was thinking. He wasnt so concered about their friendship and Hanks betrayl to him personally, he was blaming himself. He had left Hank guarding Sheridan on more than one occation. This was all his fault.
This isnt your fault, Luis. I know that that is what you are thinking right now. This isnt your fault. You could have done nothing. So stop right now. Stop blaming yourself. I am not dead, I am not going to be dead for a long time. You said you wanted to think about the future, start now. Luis couldnt believe that Sheridan could read him that clearly. He looked into her eyes. He saw understanding, and a willingness to listen when he wanted to talk.
I know in my head that I am not to blame, but it is my heart that is telling me this is my fault. I know that I said I want to think about the future, and I do. I am just going to need time to settle somethings from the past first. I need to find a way to trust people again. So many things have happened in the past two months, I have lost the trust I once had. This just tops off everything else. I am beginning to feel like there is no one I can trust. Luis had tears in his eyes, and he hugged Sheridan tighter, and burrored his face into her neck, seeking comfort.
You can trust me Luis. I promise. I don't know what happened in the last two months, but I am here when you want to tell me. I will help you heal, and make you believe that you can trust people again. She stroked his hair, and tried to give him whatever comfort he needed. And remember that I love you.
Luis looked up and into her eyes. He was so glad she was back in his life. The past two months had been hell, and everyday he had wished she was there to help him through it. He had desperately wanted to talk to her, and had, even though she couldnt hear it. He wanted her advice, and we wanted someone in his life that he could trust and love. She was that person.
Sheridan, you wouldnt believe how badly I wanted you here these last two months, and I am so glad you are now. There are things I need to tell you, but I am going to need time. So please be patient. Sheridan nodded, and they kissed. She knew that they both had things to work through but had no doght that they would find a way through them together.
Chapter 3
Luis, I know that this is hard for you to take in right now, and we have thrown a lot at you, but there is one more thing for you to know. You are going to have to come to Paris in two days with Sheridan to testify against Roger and Pierre. Interpol wants to know your side of the story, and we are going to use you as a witness when they sentence them. You will be the sympathy witness. You will have to describe the pain you went through when you thought that Sheridan was dead, and how it distrubeted your life. Do you think that you can handle that. Luis nodded. I can handle anything that will put these guys away for a very long time.
Good. You wont be the only witness. We are also going to have Ethan there because he was closest to Sheridan, and the rest of the family just didnt seem to care a whole lot that she was dead.
Luis stiffened at the name Ethan, and Sheridan looked at him a little strange. Luis didnt know what he was going to tell her about Ethan. He knew that she loved him a lot, and he didnt want to cloud how she felt about him. He decided that he would keep his feeling about Ethan to himself, and not tell Sheridan all that he had done since her death. He didnt think that she would appricate that. He would do anything to make sure she was happy.
I forgot about Ethan. Sheridan said. I have to see him before the press gets wind that I am alive. I dont want him to find out through a newspaper that I am alive before I can explain it all to him. Sam, do you think that I can use the helicopter tomorrow and fly into Harmony. I dont want to stay overnight, because... she looked at Luis and remembered their promise never to spend a night apart. She smiled. Well I just dont want to stay overnight, but I do need to see him. So can I use it tomorrow.
Sure Sheridan. I am going to stay here until you guys leave to Paris, so I will keep Luis company tomorrow. I am sure that he will be antsy waiting for you to return and if he doesnt have someone here he will go nuts.
Luis smiled a little at this. He didnt like the thought of Sheridan leaving him for even a day. He still couldnt really get over the fact that she was here and that she wasnt going anywhere. Sheridan sensed this.
Luis, she whispered in his ear. I am not going anywhere. I will go first thing in the morning and I will be back here by supper. I promise. You will never get rid of me again. She kissed his ear lightly, and felt him squeeze her tighter.
Your right that I am not getting rid of you. So I think that you should bring all of your cloths and stuff back with you, because you are going to have to move in with me. I cant live without you anymore.
I love that idea. Luis kissed her on the lips and they let it linger. They once again forgot that Hal and Sam were still there. Luis started to run his hand up her thigh, and he intestified the kiss. Sheridan moaned when his tongue met hers, and then suddenly remembered Hal and Sam. She broke this kiss and smiled. Later. she mouthed.
We will be leaving now, because it is obvious that we are neither wanted nor needed. Hal said with a chuckle. We will be by around 9 am to pick you up and take you to Harmony. Be ready.
With that Sam and Hal left.
So, what now? Sheridan said with a sexy grin.
Well as much as I would like to finish that kiss, I am famished. I dont think that I have had a proper meal in two months, so I am really hungry. Luis said.
Sheridan giggled. I know what you mean. These past two months have been hell. Hal was really beginning to get worried. He says that I have lost a lot of weight.
Luis looked her up and down. He had a seductive look in his eyes. They lingered on her breasts. Well some parts of you could use a little fattening. he whispered sexily. Sheridan shivered. It was equal parts the look in his eyes, and the tone of his voice. She couldnt believe how turned on she was whenever he was around.
Luis chuckled when he saw her shiver. He was glad that he had just as much an effect on her as she had on him. Come on baby, lets make dinner.
Luis, you know that I cant cook. I didnt learn in the two months we were apart, and I dont think that I am ever going to learn. I do believe that in this relationship you are going to have to do all the cooking.
I dont mind at all. As long as I am with you I would cook all day. What I meant was that I will cook dinner, but you have to come into the kitchen with me because I am not ready to have you leave my side yet. With that he picked her up and carried her to the kitchen.
Later, after they had eaten, made love on the couch, and later in the bedroom, they were laying in each others arms, not talking, just enjoying each others company. Sheridan was very sleepy. She had been up since early that morning, and she had had an emotional day. She had her head on Luis chest and his heartbeat was lulling her into a peaceful sleep. Just before she dozed off she whispered against his chest. Promise you will be here in the morning.
Luis kissed the top of her head. I promise. I will always be here in the morning.
Chapter 4
The sun streamed through the window. It cast its glow on a couple sleeping entwined in each others arms. It shown right into Luiss eyes, waking him up. He slowly opened his eyes, then blinked. It was so bright. He looked down and saw Sheridan still sleeping on his chest. He couldnt remember ever sleeping that good in his life. He ran his finger along her face, just to make sure that she was really here. She twitched and tried to slap his hand away. Luis laughed at this. He leaned down and kissed her lips, a long slow kiss that had her waking up.
Sheridan woke up to feel Luis kissing her lips. She immediately feel into the kiss, and kissed him back. This time she deepened the kiss, and ran her tongue along his lips. He opened his mouth and moaned. He couldnt believe how quickly he was turned on by her. They had made love late into the night last night, yet he woke up and wanted her again. She ran her tongue along the roof of his mouth, and was pleased when he moaned again. He had given her so much pleasure yesterday, and she felt that he deserved some of his own. She slowly broke the kiss and began kissing down his neck. His wiskers tickled her nose, and she giggled. You need to shave Luis. I am going to have whisker burn if you dont.
I promise baby, I will shave as soon as we get out of this bed.
Sheridan continued kissing his neck, and slowly moved down to his chest. She ran her tongue over his nipples and smiled when he jumped a little. She continued on down. She kissed over his stomach, then began to go lower.
Sheridan..
She could hear the warning in his voice, she knew he was close to the edge. She closed her mouth over him, and gave him a few little kisses. He couldnt take anymore. He knew that if she continued that he would lose it, and she would have no pleasure himself. He grabbed her face and pulled her up to his lips. He flipped them over so she was under him, and kissed her hard. He was impatient, and had to have her now. He felt between her legs, and slid two fingers inside. Now it was her turn to moan and arch. When Luis felt her move against his hands, he knew she was ready. He thrust inside her, and they began to make love.
Sheridan lightly stroked Luis chest. She couldnt believe how happy she felt at this moment. She loved being in Luiss arms. He ran his fingers up and down her back, loving the feel of her skin under his hands. It was so soft, it felt like a babys.
Luis, can I ask you a question?
Anything baby, anything at all.
Why is your apartment so dull. I mean, no offense or anything, but you have no personal things anywhere. Even your comforter is plain. Nothing says Luis.
Luis blushed a little. He knew that he was waiting for her to decorate how she liked it, but he didnt know if he could say that to her. He kissed the top of her head. Sheridan, I didnt decorate because I didnt want to do anything that you may not have liked. Even when I thought you were dead, I could still feel you. I knew when you were unhappy, or angry. I cant explain. I just knew in my heart that you would come back to me, so I thought that I would leave the decorting for you so that we would both like it.
Sheridan felt tears come to her eyes. She couldnt believe how much this man loved her. Oh Luis. She gave him a slow kiss keeping it innocent because she knew that she would have to get out of bed soon. I promise that tomorrow I will go shopping for things for the apartment. We need to make it yours.
Ours." Luis corrected.
Ours Sheridan agreed. She smiled at the thought of decorting. Oh I get to go shopping. I can buy sheets and towels and pictures and ...
I can tell that you are excited, but you have to wait to go shopping. We should proboly get up anywase because Hal should be here soon. What do you say that we go and have a shower.
After a long shower that involved very little washing, but a whole lot of touching, they got out and were eating breakfast. Sheridan was still discussing all of the stuff that she was going to buy. She couldnt believe how excited she was just to be shopping for stuff for an apartment. Either could Luis, so he asked her why.
I have lived all of my life either in the Crane mansion, where you couldnt change anything, bording schools, where you couldnt have anything personal, or hotel rooms. I have never had a place that I could decorate myself. This is fun. You are going to come with me arent you. I dont want to buy anything that you may not like.
Of course I am coming with you. I am not going to be leaving you alone for a long time. Except today. I cant go to Harmony with you.
I know. I didnt ask you because I didnt want you to feel obligated to go. I dont know what happened but I could tell that you didnt want to go. I would still like to know the reason.
I promise that I will tell you soon. After you see Ethan. Could you do me a favour when you are there. Sheridan nodded, thinking that she knew what was coming. Could you stop and see mama. Tell her that I am okay and very happy now. I know she must be worried, and I want her to know that I am alright, I am just not ready to see her yet.
Of course Luis. I wanted to see Pilar anywase.
Just then the buzzer for the door went.
That must be Hal and Sam. I am glad that Sam is staying for a couple of days. I missed him, and it is good to talk to him. He must be going through hell because of Hank.
I am glad he is here to keep you company too.
Sheridan opened the door for Sam and Hal.
We should get going right away Sheridan if you dont want to stay over night. The helicopter will be leaving in half an hour. Hal said.
Sheridan nodded, and turned to Luis. He walked over to her and took her in his arms. He lightly stroked her hair will he wrapped her tighter in his embrace. Even though he knew she was going to be back in his arms that night, he didnt want to let go. The last time they had said goodbye, he had thought that it was forever. He never wanted to go through that again.
Dont say goodbye. He whispered. I never want to say goodbye to you again. With that he gave her a loving kiss that had tears coming to her eyes. I love you.
I love you too. Ill see you later. With that she turned and left with Hal.
Chapter 5
Sam and Luis were sitting in the living room catching up. Luis was sprawled out over the couch listening to Sam tell him everything that went on in Harmony.
Did you tell Sheridan the reason that you left, Luis?
No, I thought that I would wait until after she got back from seeing Ethan. I didnt want to ruin their reunion.
Thats generous of you. After everything he did to you and your family I would think you would want to tell Sheridan what kind of man he is.
I promised that I would tell her why I left, but I didnt want to make her feel torn. He is her nephew, and the only one in the family who ever cared about her. I dont want to make her choose. I love her too much to put her in that position.
Sam nodded in understanding. I am very glad that she is alive Luis. I dont think I have ever seen you this happy. I dont think you even know that you have this permgrin on your face.
Sam that grin is never going away. I have her here with me. And I will promise you that she is never leaving my side again. Except today. Luis started thinking about their night last night. How wonderful it was. How perfect. He got lost in thought and it took Sam a couple of times calling his name to get his attention.
Luis, we have to get you out of the apartment. I did not stay in Boston so I could watch you daydream about Sheridan all day. Lets go out and do something to keep you mind off of her. Even though I know you dont want her off of your minds. Luis grinned and thought that he didnt want her off of him in anyway. But Sam was right, he couldnt spend all day thinking about Sheridan. He wondered were she was now.
Harmony
Sheridan walked up the walk of the Lopez-Fitzgerald residence. She couldnt believe how nervous she was. Come on Sheridan, its only Pilar. She was like a mother to you, you have no reason to be nervous. She lectured herself. She couldnt really understand why she was nervous, except for the fact she was going to she the love of her lifes mother. A mother that he was no longer talking to, and for all purposes was no longer any part of his life. She didnt want to betray him, and yet she knew that Pilar would want to know all about Luis, and she wanted to tell her. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Pilar stopped stirring when she heard the knock. She looked at the clock. It was still to early for it to be Whitney, for Theresa, and Migel had already gone over to Charitys. I wonder who that could be. Not many people stopped by anymore. She opened the door and couldnt believe what she was seeing. Sheridan?
Chapter 6
After Pilar had gotten over her shock, and the two women had laughed, cried and hugged, they finally began talking. Sheridan explained how the set up had happened and why, and then she quietly told Pilar about her reunion with Luis.
Its almost like we have never been apart, and yet in someways its like we have been apart for years. A lot has changed, and its going to be difficult. But we are both so happy right now, and the problems we may have to face seem like nothing compared to how happy we both are.
Pilar smiled slightly. She was really happy that Sheridan and her son were back together, and happy, but at the same time she was jealous. She wanted to make her son laugh again, or atleast see her son laugh. She wanted him to be happy in this house, not whereever he was.
Yes a lot has changed Sheridan. And you will have a lot of problems, atleast if you ever return to Harmony.
What do you mean Pilar? Why will we have problems if we return to Harmony? I mean, I know that something big must have happened for Luis to move away. He hasnt told me yet. He said he would tell me after I see Ethan.
Pilar thought about that. The hatred between Luis and Ethan was enourmous. Luis, before he had left had tried to turn both Pilar and Theresa against him, saying all of the bad stuff to get them to stay away from him. For him to have put aside his hatred and not tell Sheridan untl after they had had their reunion meant that he loved her more than his family. He hadnt been able to put aside his differences for Theresa, but he could for Sheridan. Pilar felt the jealousy rise up again.
Well I cant believe that he would do that for you. Pilar stated almost coldly. Sheridan looked shocked at her tone of voice. Pilar saw the look and wanted to take it back, but she couldnt. This was the women that her son was giving up everything for. HE was doing things for her that he couldnt do for his own family. Pilar couldnt stand it.
He couldnt put aside his hatred for Ethan for us, me and Theresa, but he could put it aside for you. He couldnt forgive me and Theresa for lying to him, but he can forgive you for faking your death, and putting him through hell. Do you have any idea what he went through in the days following your death. Do you? Pilar shouted, her temper quickly rising. Sheridan shook her head. She had no idea what Luis had gone through, they had never got around to talking.
Let me tell you Sheridan, he went through hell. He had to see you die. Then he had to watch them bury you. If that wasnt enough, he had to defend himself against your nephew. He had to sit back and do nothing as your nephew blamed him, publicly for your death. He wrote the newspaper stating the incompitince of Luis as a cop. Then to top it all off, Luis had to her from Ethan that Theresa was in love with him. And it wasnt done in a nice way. No, because you see, Ethan was so angry at Luis for your death that he blurted it out. Then he told him that we had been lying to him for months. That is what pushed him over the edge. That was when he walked out of my life, and it seems right into yours.
Sheridan stood there in shock. She couldnt believe what Pilar had said. She never thought that her death would cause that many problems. She wondered if Pilar was right. Maybe she didnt think of Luis. She never asked him if he was mad for going along with this. She was so sorry that she put him through all of that.
The more Sheridan thought about it, the more angry she got, at herself, at Pilar, at Ethan and at Thresa. Yes, she didnt think about how many problems this would cause everyone, she had only thought about getting her life back, and having a fresh start with Luis. She had thought about how much pain he would be going through, and she hadnt wanted to do that, but she knew that it would be the only way. As for all the other problems that her death had caused, it hadnt really caused them. All of the truths were going to come out in the end, her death had just made them come out sooner. That wasnt her fault. That was Pilar and Theresas fault for not telling Luis the truth. Ethan was a whole other problem, and she couldnt believe that he had turned that cruel. He was truely a Crane. Sheridan was going to see if she could end that once and for all.
Pilar, I can understand why you are mad at me, but it is not my fault. YOU could have told Luis the truth a long time ago. You and Theresa could have stopped the lies at the beginning. YOU choose not to tell your son the truth. It is not my fault that it all came out, it was going to eventually. Did you honestly believe that Theresa and you could keep it a seceret forever, did you think he would never find out? None of it was my fault. As for Ethan, I couldnt help what he did or said, that was all up to him. I am not happy with what he did, but I am not to blame. I have gone through my whole life having people blame me for things that were not my fault, and ti stops now. I am sorry that Luis walked out of your life, and I will try to make him walk back in, but you are going to have to understand, that we are a part of each others lives, and always will be. You will have to accept that, or I dont think you will ever be welcomed back into his life again. Goodbye Pilar. With that Sheridan walked out the door. She didnt realize until she was outside that she was crying. It hurt having the women she thought of as a mother blame her for all that went wrong in her life. She realized that it would be a long time before she could see Pilar in the same light as she saw her before.
Okay Sheridan, enough tears. You have to go see your family now. You cant let see any weakness. You are going to say what you want to say and then leave. Oh I wish Luis was here. Sheridan got into her car, and drove up to the Crane Mansion. She was suprised that she didnt miss it at all. She had missed Harmony, but not the mansion. She drove through the gates, and the gaurd gave her a funny look. She laughed lightly as she was parking the car. She had forgotten that nobody knew she was alive yet.
She opened the door to the mansion.
Hello! Ethan are you here?
Ethan Crane had been working in is office, going over things for Crane Industries. He taken a larger role in the generally running of the companies since Sheridans death. He was trying to eliminate all feelings that he had in him. Feelings had caused nothing but problems. He had loved Sheridan, and then she was killed, all because of Luis Lopez Fitxgerald. He had loved Gwen, but now felt that he only had a friendly love for her. He had passionaltly loved Theresa, but couldnt got to her because he hated her brother. In the time since his aunts death, he had come to realize that he would marry Gwen, simply because if she broke his heart, or died, it would cause him the least amount of pain. He didnt think about how selfish he was being when he made this decsion, he made it because it would cuase him the least amount of pain. He looked up from his work when he heard his name being called. It sounded a lot like Sheridan. Even though he knew it couldnt be true, he jumped up and ran to the fower, and then he saw her.
Sheridan! He cried and ran into her arms.
