The End Of All - Sequel to Original Sin

By Ash

“So, what makes you think that you are capable of living among others after you were in jail for cold-blooded murder?” The parole officer stated staring him down as if he was a dirty criminal.

Luis never thought in his life that being in prison would be part of it. He was a very distinguished police officer hoping to become police chief someday. Of course, that was before she walked into his life and all of that changed.

“Yes I do because I don’t feel as though I’m a cold-blooded murderer. I was defending my wife and myself. We would’ve been dead today and no justice would’ve been served.” Luis replied.

He didn’t understand why he had to keep coming back. Killing the biggest millionaire in the world doesn’t make you great guy even though everyone did despise the bastard.

‘You didn’t kill him.’ A voice in his head nagged at him.

Luis shook his head out of that thought. He started this whole thing and Sheridan saved his life. Going to prison for her was the only way he could repay her. Never would he let her come to this horrible place.

Sheridan.

He missed her more than the air breathed every day of his life. Her laughter, her smile, her kisses, and just being able to see her everyday. Some day’s the pain is so horrible he doesn’t know if he’ll make it through the day without collapsing from the ache that haunted him.

*I keep on fallin in and out of love With you Sometimes I love you Sometimes you make me feel blue*

The only thing that got him through those lonely nights wall of his beautiful dreams of being with her. No matter how bad it was he knew that he would always be with her in his dreams where nothing and nobody could touch them.

The night where fate twisted their lives forever is the nightmare he’d been having lately. Alistar must be laughing down from hell right now because even in death things worked out in his favor. Luis rotted in jail while Sheridan suffered alone.

‘Damn you Alistar!’ His thoughts tried to take over again.

Luis straightened himself back up though and smiled slightly at the long of the table of people that stared back at him. It wasn’t until he spent his time in jail that he realized how horrible it was to have 5 people look at you and decide whether or not your fit for the world.

‘I don’t care if I’m sentenced to stay in the cottage for life just as long as Sheridan is by my side everything is all right.’ He began to dream.

“Mr. Lopez-Fitzgerald?”

Luis jumped slightly at the all of sudden break of silence and brought his head up slightly, “Yes Sir?”

*Sometimes I feel good At times I feel used Oh baby darling Makes me so confused*

“First, I want to start by saying that you are or should I say were an outstanding member of the community of Harmony. A good officer and a family man but I want you to think back to the night of the murders you ruined a good thing.”

Luis nodded and pushed back the tear that threatened to form in his eyes.

“Sheridan? What are you doing with that?” Luis said struggling to get lose of Alistar’s grip.

“It’s my job to end this Luis not yours and I’m willing to pay whatever penalty which comes at me.” She said cocking the gun.

“Now Sheridan put the gun down...” Alistar started.

“SHUT UP!” She screamed. “All I ever did was be your daughter and all I ever wanted was to marry the man I love. You just couldn’t accept that. I love Luis and were going to be together because there isn’t going to be any more murder attempts or schemes.”

“How is that?” Alistar whispered staring down the barrel of the gun.

“It’s time to eliminate the cause.” She said pulling the trigger.

Alistar fell back onto the floor. A small amount of blood gushed from a wound right in his heart.

“Sheridan...I was the one who started this and I knew full well of my intentions on the way over here. Live and be free Sheridan. I love you.” He said kissing her on the forehead.

“I’m going to get you out of this!” She screamed as the house began to invade full of cops and investigators demanding for her to answer questions.

~*~*~*~*~

“I realize that Sir.” Luis whispered.

“In any event, you have showed exceptional behavior and are doing well in your therapy sessions.”

*I keep on falling in and our Of love With you I never love someone The way that I love you*

“Thank you Sir.” Luis said.

Loud shouts were coming from the hallway. Everyone in the room grew silence for a moment waiting to see if more developed. After a few moments of silence, the officer continued.

“So, I see no reason why you should be here any longer. Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald your parole is accepted. Please don’t let me see you here again.”

Luis sat for a moment in shock. He couldn’t believe it. He was going home to be with her and start his life over.

*I’m on fallin in and out Of love With you I never loved someone The way that I love you*

“Thank you Sir.” Luis said standing up to shake his hand.

In that same instance, the door came slamming open. Sheridan Crane stood there with a determined look on her face.

“I’m sorry but you have the wrong murderer in custody!”

“Sheridan, please don’t I was par...” Luis intervened.

“NO! I HAVE TO DO THIS LUIS!” Sheridan screamed in a fit of tears.

“Do what Ms. Crane?” The officer asked staring at her quizzically.

“I killed him.” She whispered but finally pushed up the volume voice. “I killed Alistar Crane and Luis loved me so much that he went to jail for me. It wasn’t cold murder it was self-defense and I have to security video to prove it!”

“Sheridan, I was pardoned.” Luis said staring at her with a tearful gaze.

She felt all of her breath fly out of her as her knees collapsed from beneath her.

“Thank God.” She whispered.

Her small relief was taken away when she felt two pairs of strong arms pull her up. Everything began happening in a blur as she was pulled out of the room.

In the distance, she could here Luis’ voice calling her name.

It was time for her to live her punishment.
