Last night she dreamed he whispered the words I love You and touched her subtly as they kissed under the beautiful moonlight. But that's all it was, just another dream.
"He'll never love you Sheridan" she said softly to her reflection in the mirror. It had been nearly a week since Luis was asigned to protect her. She didn't know how much longer she could take being with him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was hard enough living in the same town, but living under the same roof was proving to be the one challenge she wasn't ready for. No matter how many times she told herself she wasn't in love with Luis, she knew what she really felt for him. She only wished the love she felt for him could be returned. She let out a sigh of defeat, "Why did you have to be so damn gorgeous."
A song came up on the radio that she hadn't heard before, but the sadness of the song immediately caught her attention.
Verse 1
You called yesterday to basically say
That you cared for me but tht you're just not in love
Immediately I pretended to be feeling similarly
And led you to believe I was O.K.
To just walk away from the one thing
That's unyeilding and sacred to me
Chorus
Well I guess I'm trying to be nonchalant about it
And I'm going to extremes to prove I'm fine without you
But in reality I'm slowly losing my mind
Underneath the guise of a smile gradually I'm dying inside
Friends ask me how I feel and I lie convincingly
'Cause I don't want to reveal the fact that I'm suffering
So I wear my disguise 'til I go home at night
And turn down all the lights and then I break down and cry
Verse 2
So what do you do when somebody you're devoted to
Suddenly just stops loving you and it seems they haven't
got a clue
Of the pain that rejection is putting you through
Do you cling to your pride and sing "I will survive"
Do you lash out and say "How dare you leave this way"
Do you hold on in vain as they just slip away
Chorus 2
Well I guess I'm trying to be nonchalant about it
And I'm going to extremems to prove I'm fine without you
But in reality I'm slowly losing my mind
Underneath the guise of a smile gradually I'm dying inside
Friends ask me how I feel and I lie convincingly
'Cause I don't want to reveal the fact that I'm suffering
So I wear a guise 'til I go home at night
And turn down all the light and then I break down and cry.

The song ended, she was still staring at her reflection in the mirror but didn't notice the tears that had started to stream down her face. 'How can love be so unkind' She wanted to tell him how she felt more than anything, but how could she.
She imerged from the bedroom a little while later in a black nighty covered by a matching rob. Luis looked up at her from the couch. He would never get use to it, Sheridan managed to take his breath away everytime she entered a room. She didn't notice him staring at her, she was still dazed by the song and her lonely thoughts. She flopped into the armchair next to the couch and reached for the remote on the coffee table, but Luis quickly grabbed it before her.
"Oh no you don't, I'm watching the game."
"Well I want to watch something else," she told him.
"No way Sheridan, this is important, Lakers are playing the Blazers. Besides I was watching first."
"Well it's my house and my TV Luis," she reminded him.
"Too bad, I'm watching"
Sheridan threw him an angry glare, but he was too into on the game to notice. She shook her head and fell back against the chair.
"So who's winning anyway?" she asked turning her attention to the game.
"It's a tie right now, but Lakers are going to kick some Blazer butt tonight."
"LAKERS? You mean the team that couldn't make a basket if their life depended on it, you wish. Blazers are going to win, a team with some REAL skills."
She was gazing at him with an amused look on on her face, Luis grinned at her, "I didn't even know you watched Basketball."
"I don't, but Ethan's dragged me to enough games for me not to be completely clueless..." she raised an eyebrow and smiled, "I recall beating you not to long ago in a game of one on one." she grinned smugly.
"You just got lucky that's all"
"Ugh! whatever, I worked my ass off to beat you, and I DIDN'T get LUCKY."
"Ok so you managed to win that day with one point, but there's no way your team is going to win this game tonight."
"Well we'll just have to wait and see don't we," she said with narrowed eyes.
"Are you willing to bet on that"
"I'm game."
"Ok, if Lakers win then you have to...make me breakfast, anything I want."
"And if Blazers win, you have to make me breakfast, in bed."
A sexy grin spread across Luis's face, "Your on"
Suddenly the game was forgotten, and they found themselves lost in eachother's eyes. It was the first time in weeks that they weren't at each other's throats. The sarcastic remarks and insulting comments were just a mask to hid their true feelings, and they knew it. Their attraction for each other was growing stronger the more time they spent together, it was only a matter of time before they would give into their feelings. Luis was obsessing about kissing her all day, there were times when that's all he could think about. He couldn't deny that he hadn't fantasized about her every night, about what it would be like to be with her, to make love to her. Sheridan also had her share of wild fantasies about Luis, it made her blush just thinking about them.
Their glance full of longing was suddenly interrupted by the ringing telephone. Luis gave her a soft smile and she returned it before getting up to answer the phone.
"Hello" she said into the phone.
"Hello sister dear"
"Julian" she rolled her eyes at the sound of his snobbish voice.
"I just called to make sure everything was alright. Now that you and Luis are living together, I know he will try to use this opportunity to his own advantage."
"What do you mean?"
"Come now Sheridan, you can't be that naive. Luis has lured you into his trap once before, gotten you to gain his trust. I hope you won't let something like that happen twice, for your own sake Sheridan. Luis only has one goal and that's to destroy our family. Do you remember the talk we had earlier today about your habit of letting your emotions get in the way."
Sheridan felt herself tense at his words, but in a way she was glad of Julian's constant reminders, sometimes she felt she couldn't trust herself with Luis. She had to stay on her gaurd and not allow Luis to make her feel happy.
"Don't worry Julian, I haven't forgotten." she glanced over at Luis, he was still watching the game.
"I just want you to be happy Sheridan..."
She cut him off, "Is that all Julian?" she said in an annoyed tone.
"Yes, Goodnight Sheridan"
"Goodnight"
She walked back to the armchair and slumped back into it. Luis had noticed she didn't look too happy when she was on the phone. She stared at the TV in silence.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine" she said not looking at him. The usual coldness had returned to her voice, and Luis wondered why.
"What's gotten you in such a bad mood all of the sudden?"
"So now your trying to control what mood I'm in" she rose her eyes and finally looked at him.
"You know what forget it, there's no talking to you. I don't don't even know why I bother."
"Then don't"
He didn't say anything, he turned back to the game. He could hear her fingers nails tapping on the sidetable next to the armchair. He tried to ignore it but found that he couldn't. He looked at her through the corners of his eyes. She seemed to be staring into space. "Can you stop doing that, it's annoying." he said finally.
Sheridan's tapping came to a stop as she looked down at her hand, then back at him. "Not as annoying as you being here 24/7." She threw him a hateful glare.
"I don't like this anymore than you do Sheridan. You think I like being here with you?, your the most stubborn, ungrateful person I've ever met."
"What do you mean UNGRATEFUL?"
"You wouldn't even be here if it weren't for me. After everything I did to save you from getting killed, you could at least be a little grateful to me-"
"I didn't ask for help! Why did you even have to come to save me, wait don't answer that, you've already told me. It's your job to PROTECT THE CITIZENS OF HARMONY."
She broke their gaze and looked down briefly, then looked back up. He was still staring at her. "Is that all I am to you Luis, just another citizen of Harmony?" she said softly. She didn't know why she had said it, she hadn't intended to say it outloud, or maybe she did. Luis was momentarily paralyzed by her words. He didn't respond, she didn't wait for him to. Tears rushed into her eyes and she got up quickly to hid them. "I'm going to bed" she managed to get out. She kept the tears from slipping out until she reached her bedroom. Closing the door behind her and leaned back against it. Unable to hold it back any longer, she let a soft sob escape her lips.
Luis finally snapped out of his daze and regained his composure. He walked to her bedroom door, his hand rested on the knob for a few seconds before he finally turned it.
Sheridan stood at the window staring at nothing in particular, just lost in her thoughts. The sound of the knob turning startled her from her thoughts but she didn't turn around. She heard him enter the room, and walk up behind her. She felt his warm hands gently grasp her shoulders, Luis turned her to face him. His hands moved up and rested gently on the base of her neck. Sheridan was expecting maybe an apology from him, but the words that came out of his mouth would change her life forever.
"Your not just another citizen of Harmony to me Sheridan...your so much more," he said softly to her. She was completely taken aback but it was exactly what she wanted to hear. His eyes fell to her lips, his own lips throbbed to kiss hers. His face drew closer to hers and before he knew it his mouth was on hers, they kissed slowly, passionately and intensly. She felt the shivers running through her. He pulled her body close to his and could feel the heat of her body through her thin nighty. The kiss was unforgettable, his lips lingered against hers a moment longer before he pulled away. She looked into his eyes, this time there was something more there, or maybe it had always been there and she was just recognizing it for the first time, it was love. It didn't need to be said, she saw it, she felt it. They looked at eachother lovingly, longingly. Luis traced her lips with his finger, he slid it down her chin, her neck, then over her chest, gently outlining the curves of her breast. She felt hot, like her body was on fire. Their lips met again and they kissed deeply. Her back suddenly met the wall, as she found herself pinned against the wall by his body. He pressed his body against her, she could feel just how much he wanted her. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest. Luis's hands slide up the sides of her legs, lifting her night gown to her waist. His hands reached her breasts and she softly gasped his name, breaking their kiss.
He removed her nighty while she pulled of his shirt. Luis carried her to the bed and laid down on top of her. He pressed his hips to hers, Sheridan's head fell back and her chest thrust forward meeting his lips. His lips ran over her body, over every curve causing her whole body to tingle. She felt like she was swimming in ecstasy. "I love you Sheridan" he whispered to her.
"I love you too Luis" she whispered into his mouth.

The passion they shared the night before returned to her as soon as his lips touched her skin. She never knew making love to a man could feel like that. It was everything she dreamed it would be and so much more. She opened her eyes and gazed up at him. Sheridan had never woken up to anything so beautiful, the love in his eyes awoke her every being.
"Good morning" he whispered in her ear.
"Good morning"
"I was thinking that since we never got around to seeing what team won last night, that we could make eachother breakfast this morning." he said placing soft tender kisses around her neck.
She brought his face up and kissed him on him on the lips.
Luis gave her a sexy smile, "On second thought, maybe we should just forget about breakfast all together."
"Mmm I like that idea." she smiled back at him.
