MUSIC: Dead End Moon (Kevin Max Smith)
Today is Tuesday. Well, i lived! The kids got back home, and it was great to have them back. But see, Dave and Pamela are on the road now, getting to the airport for their 4 o'clock flight to Pennsylvania. Dave will go to DC for a missions trip, and Pamela will spend the quality time with Dad that she hasn't gotten to in a while. Ye-hah!
What has happened.. Well, Matt J. and I have arranged the first week in August to spend at his place, doing Water World, possibly Laser Tag and/or a movie. We'll see how it goes; his week is totally open, no more games, so we'll have the week to ourself.
On Sunday, we stopped at this art-show/garage-sale thing, and i bought (of course a few books) but also a few vinyl LPs of some classic rock bands! So alls i needsa do now is get a turntable; i hope i can find one cheap in the Denver Post Classifieds, or on Ebay.
Then on Monday we had Home Group at our house, and the current topic was suspended to talk a little about grief, and suffering, in light of Julie's battle with cancer. There are a lot of passages in the Bible that deal with why God puts us through suffering.. often it is for our own benefit, so that we come out of it changed people, often it is to bring us closer to God, often it is to bring others closer to God. Often for a Christian, suffering is allowed so that God can be glorified, ex. the story of Job.
Monty's nephew Rusty who is like my age, came to Home Group as well, i got to chat with him, he's a cool character. His cousin Kelsey may drag him to youth group, he'll be good for it.
So as a progress report, I have a majority of the house's door trim put up, and later today when it cools down, i'm to refinish the deck. Hmm, that's about it.
take care all!
