We got into Camden, today! Let me tell you, the projects of Camden were an experience... All around, the buildings, when you could call them that, were third-world-class buildings, with so many dead empty lots that were filled with trash. That was our work mission, to clean up about 3 blocks of street trash and a few lots' worth.. It was a sad state of affiars. But the city garbagemen were awesome, they let us use their 20-yard, 6 ton trash compactor truck, man, those guys rocked :D
That morning in devo's, at the church, we found out that guys normally don't do missions, it's largely girls; indeed, the Virginia group and the James Madison group were mostly girls with only a few guys representing. Odd.
Hah! Remind me to teach you how to play the State Game some time, it's a riot! And also the Color Game.
Today at the after-school thing with the kids, we took 'em all outside, and we got this game of football going, with like 3 of us on each team and 7 of them too, and man, they play chaos-ball! Not even a 'hike' or anything, they don't center the ball, they just go '1-2-3-stop!' instead of tackle, so no one should be tackling like mad, but everyone jumps everyone else anyway, it's so hilarious! While half of them are fighting over whose ball it was, the other half grabs the ball and pulls another play..
at the moment, we're having the most interesting conversation :D
but anyway, the football was cooooool... then we all went in for homework and snax, and I was helpin out Justin and Xavier and Jode with all their stuff, they had spelling words and addition, and all that. Then more football! We played for so long... These kids have grown up so fast, we noticed. This one girl Margie was talkin smack like some 15 year old.. These kids were picking fights and cussing each other out at times (we had to break up a few things), but i guess nothing was serious.
Okay, Bohall, Ty, Andrew, and Nate are taking way too long in the kitchen... grr, Nate came out here and asked us if Mac and Cheese is alright. What happened to the chicken!!?? They're stalling, they can't cook. I bet they ordered out :P
They told us today's dinner was gonna be "non-American," all foreign foods, from other countries. Yeah right, we'll see. Ooh, a microwave just went "ding." oo, we just appointed andrew to shower with the second group, hehehe. There it goes again, the microwave!
lol, nate just went one round of the State game, and he chickened out, :D, he was like "we'll save this one for later".
Aw man where is that dinner!? The salmonella got them i bet...
Now the conversation went 180 degrees to Narnia and our own experiences with Turkish Delight...
Garrett: "This is taking so long!
Me: "It's 7:30."
Garrett: "When'd they start?
Me: "at 5:30!"
Garrett: "oh my gosh!!
And there are strange cheering noises emanating from the kitchen... Every 2 minutes, someone pokes out their head and looks around, and goes back in and shuts the door...
"Don't put that much water on it!
oh here's our food. bye!
