The budget that the school provides for track and field does not cover the expenses of running the program. This year, we are providing two additional coaches to help enhance our program. We also wish to replace worn equipment and uniforms, and purchase some training equipment to strengthen our team. The goal for this year is to raise $3000. Each athlete must raise a minimum of $50.00. The first oppurtunity to meet this goal is by participating in the jog-a-thon.
The jog-a-thon will take place on Friday, March 9th during practice. Each athlete may predict how many laps they will run. This will help your sponsors choose how much money they wish to contribute per lap.
All money must be collected and turned in by Wednesday, March 14th. Please be enthusiastic about this effort and ask everyone you know....friends, teachers, family (no door to door).
Athletes who raise above the $50 minimum will be awarded as follows:
$55 = t-shirt
$100 = t-shirt + pizza party
$150 = t-shirt + pizza party + sweatshirt
$200 = t-shirt + pizza party + sweatshirt + gym bag
$250 = t-shirt + pizza party + sweatshirt + gym bag + pie the coach!
Support From Parents
High School years are some of the best years of your child's life. Please try to attend as many meets as possible to cheer them and their teammates on.
Volunteer help will be needed for timing, set-up, snack-bar and a variety of activities at our home meets. Please indicate availability by contacting Coach Sheehan.
Our team will be involved in some fundraising activities. The money raised is necessary to replace worn equipment and purchase additional new equipment to enhance our program. With the money raised last year, we have replaced very worn throwing equipment and 10 of our hurdles. We have also purchased some tools to help train the athletes such as medicine balls, a speed chute (sprinting), overspeed trainer, and rebound cross bars for high jump and pole vault. This year, every athlete must raise a minimum of $50. We will provide methods for raising this money and welcome any additional ideas you may have.
Thank You! We look forward to a very successful
Track and Field Season!
