Peter J. Collodi, of South Pymatuning Township, former Assistant Principal at Sharon High School, died June 7, 1999, at age 91. He was born September 12, 1907, and served as a member of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. A flag flies in his honor (shown below) at The Avenue of the Flags, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage. In 1990 he was inducted into the Duquesne University Sports Hall of Fame for basketball and tennis. The Shenango Valley Foundation maintains the Sharon Kiwanis - Peter J. Collodi Scholarship Fund in his name for deserving graduating high school seniors from Sharon High School based upon scholastic average.
