NEW BEGINNERS STARTING AT THE BURTON BOROUGH SCHOOL CLASS ON TUESDAY NIGHTS.

We had our first class at the Burton Borough School last night, (Tuesday 20th).  We were very pleased with how it went., as well as a group of our existing members, we had 20 new beginners there and a good even mix of ages, children and adults, male and female.  They all picked everything up really well and all the children were well behaved and tried hard.  Hopefully we will see them all again next week and maybe with one or two new faces as well.  We will, (hopefully), have a piece about the new class in the Newport Advertiser this friday so hopefully that will bring in a few more.  Thanks to everyone who helped promote the new class by delvering leaflets around Newport for the last two weekends.  We will now be at the Burton Borough School in Newport every Tuesday night.  The venue has excellent facilities as it is a newly refurbished dance studio.  The room is about the same size as our room at Moreton with a sprung wooden floor and mirrored walls.  Training prices will remain the same at the school and at Moreton - 2.50 adults, 2. children.

In two or three weeks, if the demand is there from all the new members, I will open a beginners class on a Fridays, 6 - 7pm, at Moreton before the main lesson.  Costs will be the same as the other lessons and if you come to the beginners class you can stay for the main class, 7 - 8:30pm, for free!  Keep checking here for a start date for the Moreton beginners class.

2008 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

All the results for the 2008 club championships are now included on the results page.  The Newport Advertiser should have the photos in the paper on Friday and check back here soon for photos from the event.

MARCH 2009 KYU GRADINGS

The next Kyu gradings will be held on Sunday 15th March. The grading will start at 10am.  We hope to be able to run a lesson on those days for all those not taking Kyu gradings but we will confirm if we can do this closer to the time.

FIGHT CLUB.

The next Kumite / pad work session taught by Andy Horton will be held at our club on Thursday 22nd January.  If anyone would like to attend one of Andy Horton's training sessions, speak to Wayne Butler, Ian Rogers or Andy Horton when you see them at the club.

PUB NIGHT.

We are now having pub night on the first Friday of the month at the bar at the club.  The next pub night will be Friday 6th February.  The bar will be open from 8pm if any parents would like to join us for a drink before you take your children home.  The Bar is open until midnight and the down stairs hall will be open for the kids to play.  It is a great chance for us to meet some of the parents we never see and for the adult members to get to know each other outside of the dojo.
