Gary Stern

Gary has been performing on many stages over the past 20 years - directing, acting and hosting. He is proud of helping The Shrewsbury Players get their start, having directed the opening production at Shrewsbury, The Female Odd Couple. Gary then played Grandpa in their next production of You Can't Take It With You, Dr. Zubritsky in Fools, and Sir Lawrence Wargrave in Ten Little Indians. He will be appearing as Harpagon in this Spring's production of The Miser, and will be directing their Fall 2000 production of Said the Spider to the Spy. He was one of the founders of The First Avenue Playhouse in Atlantic Highlands.

Louise Trainor Stern

Most of Louise's experience is on stage, not behind it. She most recently appeared as Mrs. Rogers in The Shrewsbury Players production of Ten Little Indians. Prior that she played Mishkin in another production of The Shrewsbury Players, Fools. She also appeared in Don't Mention My Name at the First Avenue Playhouse, played "the Nurse" in The Sunshine Boys, Mickey in The Female Odd Couple and Mrs. Kirby in The Shrewsbury Players production of You Can't Take It With You. She often appears on stage with fellow actor/husband Gary. Off stage Louise is a Nurse Case Manager in Orthopedics at Riverview Medical Center.

David McKirachan

David has made several appearances on stage. In his first appearance he was a Zombie. For The Shrewsbury Players he appeared as Manolo Costazuela in The Female Odd Couple, Boris Kolenkhov, a Russian ballet instructor in You Can't Take It With You, and most recently as the Magistrate in Fools. David provides strong-arm and creative support for Bill Crome in the design and construction for all the sets for The Shrewsbury Players. In real life he is the pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury.

Deborah Moignard

Deborah is very pleased to be directing again for The Shrewsbury Players. She last directed for You Can't Take It With You, and has been in each of the other three production here. Deborah also directs for Phoenix Productions. (Did you see Jesus Christ Superstar last March?) Deborah performed at First Avenue Playhouse in Lovers and Other Strangers, Plaza Suite, and When Did You Last See Your Trousers. Her background includes all phases of the theater with education in Theater Arts in London, England. In real life, Deborah is the nurse coordinator for Shrewsbury's Women Caring for Women.

Bill Crome

Bill actually started out in radio in Brattleboro, Vermont. He moved to Iowa and began doing tech work for a local college play group. He became the organization's technical director, and when he returned to New Jersey, he worked with the Seaview Players as technical director, member of the Board of Directors and then Producer. After completing a Master Program at Monmouth University, he founded F.A.P. Enterprises, a company which does location photography, videography, sound recording and lighting for theatrical productions. Bill has been called on to assist with set design and construction for all The Shrewsbury Players productions. The Female Odd Couple, You Can't Take It With You, Fools, Ten Little Indians, and this production of The Miser. For The Miser, he has also called upon his technical skills to develop a new sound system for the theater.

Jane MacNutt

A "jack of all trades" who has worked with a university registrar, a lawyer, a planning and zoning board, and a doctor, raised two sons, and dabbled in singing and instrumental music all along the way, Jane has now turned to helping launch The Shrewsbury Players. It's a whole new world for her, and a most interesting experience to learn what it takes to get a play from the script to the stage.

Wanda Fitzpatrick

Wanda finds working behind the scene, tending to the details and organizing a production company are more suited to her talents than performing. She was instrumental in helping The Shrewsbury Players become established and is proud to be part of a group that continually brings quality performances to the Shrewsbury stage. She has been Producer for all but one of the plays and is amused at how the "job description" of a producer in community theater changes from show to show.

Jennifer Larsen

Jennifer is a graduate of Montclair State University and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has designed costumes for over 20 shows and in 1997 was nominated for an ACT Award for outstanding costume design. She works in Manhattan as a product developer for Urban Stitching. She joined The Shrewsbury Players as resident costumer with their production of Fools.
